Eli, you used the term 'rope way', which I understood because the German expression is 'Seilbahn' which translated literally means 'rope way or track'. The English for these things is actually 'cable car'.

@@roryhebberd9766 Yes, I live in Pyatigorsk.
Pyatigorsk is a fairly old city, founded in 1780. And almost immediately they decided to make it the best resort in the Russian Empire, the best architects were invited to build the city, the current appearance of the city is entirely their merit. The Bernardazzi brothers from Italy were especially distinguished, they are still remembered here and respected for their contribution to the city, how they arrived in those days, rebuilt the city, and lived here all their lives.
It is especially interesting that there are 17 mountains around Pyatigorsk, and hundreds of kilometers further are plains, millions of years ago there was a sea, and all the mountains once tried to become sea volcanoes, but in the end they simply grew up and could not become volcanoes.
So, in fact, we have not only old architecture, but also typical Soviet houses, but they are located on the outskirts of the city, were built in the 60s.
In fact, I don't know why you need all this information lol, but let it be, you will know that somewhere 16 thousand kilometers away from you there is a small city, about which you know a couple of facts :)

Maybe the complex is in your head and the failure to comprehend certain things?

This horse stud has a very long history and has supplied horses for the Russian cavalry in two world wars and a civil war and still breeds horses of unparalleled reputation and quality and has influenced horse breeding worldwide.

I watched this right after watching the latest Bald and Bankrupt video from Siberia. Needless to say, these two have very different styles.
    Things in common:
Eli: It looks like the soviet union here.
Bald: Hey wow, a soviet dog.
    Differences:
Eli: It’s 10am and i’ll get an ice cream
Bald: it’s 10am and i’ll drink a beer with some vodka

Yeah, I enjoyed Bald's channel more a couple of years ago when he just traveled around and chatted with locals, then would be all, "Ooh! An old Soviet train station; let's go check it out!" Lately, it's become a trope to see how many times he will say "Soviet," so he says stupid things like "Look--a Soviet dog!" I still like his videos, but the old ones are better, IMO. Eli is pretty awesome. Her English is outstanding, her video quality is good, and she shows lots of interesting things. Natasha on the YeahRussia channel is my favorite though, because she has such biting, deadpan humor. She doesn't travel as much as Bald or Eli, and her videos are kind of quaint and low budget, but she's folksy and funny.

It seems to be a very nice town, open and green with plenty of flowers. It for sure could be a future holiday destination.
Edit; when you read the note about the vaccine, I had to laugh in a sad way. Only about 60-65 % of the russians have been vaccined and at the moment about there’s about 1000 people a day to die from Covid. Yeah, the choice is really yours. 🤭

You might be interested that we have a Mikhail Lermontov monument down here in New Zealand. It is a failure too. It was a Soviet Cruise ship. It was an elegant ship, a pretty ship. A documentary said it had a culture of its own and was loved by passengers and crew. In 1986 the ship had just ended a call at Picton in New Zealand's Marlborough sounds, when the Pilot mysteriously directed the ship through a confined gap with seriously strong tidal turbulance and daggers of sub surface rocks. We never found out why he did that, but the Lermontov was terminally gashed below the waterline. Immediately at least one crew was drowned. The ship was doomed. Listing and sinking, it drifted around into the nearest bay where it was evacuated and sank. It remains at the bottom of that bay in the Cook Strait area, as a diving attraction. I was in favour of the Pilot going to the USSR to explain himself - of course that did not happen. The Lermontov's poor Captain was punished according to the documentary - I think he ended up driving a cargo ship.
