No, you will just have a USB installation media ready + activated Windows. You have to go through the same processes that Joey showed in this video after creation of the USB (i.e., booting into the media and installing Windows). It's much preferred to create an installation media USB of your own and then input a key that you bought online as the freshly prepared USB will have the latest OS so less updates (even though it won't be much of a difference if you have fast internet regardless), but yeah, I always prefer making my own USB and just using a key.

This video helped me by wonders! You’re amazing my friend! I did run into an issue not addressed in this video. Where it kept going back to the main drive to boot from. There is a main command and a secondary list of commands of how to boot protocol in my specific MOBO. Just make sure to double check in your boot menu’s! 😂
Thank you so much, I was having an issue putting windows on a SSD i wanted to reuse and to start from scratch on in a new built pc but keep getting error on windows setup and it was because of the partitions. I am really glad you included the part about deleting the partition in the advance setup instructions!

Well it makes no sense to install Windows each time. That's why you install it once and the PC should boot from the drive you installed it on. If this does not happen, you will need to take a look at the boot order in the BIOS. The exact steps and menus/wording vary between manufacturers, but they all have it. Make sure the drive you installed Windows onto is set as the first boot device.
thank you for this tutorial it was very helpful. for some reason though, at the point of choosing which drive to install on i have none even though i diffinitelly have an ssd drive. do you know why that would be? also could it be that my usb was formated because i cannot find any of my previous files!!!
I’m doing a clean Windows 11 install on my Dell Laptop. Do I need to format the flash drive to NTFS before I download the file on there? Also, what option from the Windows 11 will boot and install on my laptop?
No you don't usually need to worry about formatting. The tool will handle that for you. Not sure what you mean by that last question. You boot from the USB drive and go through the install process as he shows in the video
We’ve all sinned man. We’ve lied, stolen, used God’s name in vain, and more. We now need to repent and trust that Jesus Christ died for our sins on the cross. This is very urgent tomorrow isn’t promised. Our works can’t save us but Jesus can!
I deleted all the partitions except the main ssd, I think it deleted some of the software or maybe did it deleted OS stuff? The gigabyte control center was deleted too, is my pc going to be okay? Are those important, how do I recover it
So there's a difference between a partition and an SSD. A partition is a logical division of a drive. You can have a single physical drive with multiple partitions. So if you had a partition with Windows and another partition with your programs, AND you deleted that latter partition, everything on it is gone. There are data recovery programs you can use to attempt to recover a partition and/or data, but they're not guaranteed to work.
had a question so im replacing my pcs motherboard and cpu and am confused about the windows downloading part do i factory reset and clear my other ssd and hdd and then re download with the flash drive?
so that's one way to force install windows 11,am i going to have any problem with updates and stuff?because i have a b350 motherboard and basically my system doesn't meet the requirements for windows 11.
Is there an option that says that same thing, but with UEFI at the beginning? If so, try that. If that still doesn't work, disable BIOS mode (maybe called CSM, legacy mode or similar) and make sure UEFI boot is enabled as well as Secure Boot and TPM 2.0 Exact steps on how to do this and where to find the settings vary depending on your computer.
Thanks for this. I was being a complete numpty and looking for a setup.exe application and couldn't understand why it wasn't there. Appreciate your help in getting me upgraded.
Hey! Im currently building one of his builds too. Quick question, so when you were done building, and you went to turn the pc on did you already have the usb in the new pc? Or did you wait to see if it powered on and then turn the pc off, plug the usb and then turn it back on? Thank you!

Can you use that usb which u used for windows installlation normally after that? Like can u you clean that usb somehow or it is something that you cant change after you make it win installation device?
Yes you can reuse it. You would first need to format it inside of Windows. I personally would keep it as a Windows USB installer just so its handy, but its up to you
Hey Joey, i just want to ask u what will happen to our data after this operation, do our data that we've had in W10 will be shown and available in the W11..?! Please answer..!
This is a clean install. By definition, a clean install will erase everything off of the drive you're installing Windows to. if you have anything important AND you want to do a clean install, you should make a backup of any important data before doing this. A clean install installs a fresh copy of Windows and you will need to re-install all of your programs and restore your backup. If your computer has Windows 10 installed, you can perform a Windows upgrade. This will upgrade your computer to a newer version of Windows and will preserve your programs and documents and other files. Of course, its always prudent to have a backup of important files prior to doing an upgrade.
Awesome vid! One thing though, did the MOBO you are using have TPM 2.0 enabled by default? I know with mine i will have to go into the BIOS and enable that before booting to the W11 flash drive.

I did your 1000$ AMD 5600 build but I used a msi 550 MB ,a 6800 Radeon, 2TB SD, I used my existing 32mb of ram, and my existing power supply and case. Can’t wait to try it out! You guys rock!
Because I had so,e of the parts I only spent 900$
i think 32mb of ram isn’t enough
jokes aside, really solid build
Key point. You need admin access to the computer from which you create the media. Huge point! Thanks Microsoft.
Thank you, very easy to follow!
Your channel is mostly about pc build guides but would be nice if you reviewed gaming laptops every once in a while. Specially laptop gaming setups
If I already have windows 10 and some of my stuff on my SSD but I don't want my stuff to be deleted but only have windows 10 deleted so it can be replace with windows 11 will it do that or no?
No, you can't. I would recommend backing up your files with microsoft one drive and then install windows 11
Keep up the great content man :)
Does windows or any files disappear on the old computer or does it just copy over windows installation files to the usb?
No. The tool doesn't affect your files on the PC its running on. It only downloads a fresh copy of Windows 11 and creates a bootable flash drive.
@@JJFlores197 thx
Can't believe you changed the name 😒
Thank you! My employer gave us free laptops, but with no OS. Now I have an extra PC that my kids can (ideally) use for school projects
Anybody else trying to fix black screen after bluescreen of death?
I have a problem, when i boot up to the flash drive it is stuck on the eindows 11 logo splash nothing else is shown on the screen other thsn the logo. Can you please help me get it unstuck
This may or may not help. Try updating the BIOS to the latest BIOS version. Sometimes a new version can help with Windows 11 install issues. If it still doesn't help, try remaking the USB installer.
is it actually free?
Installation process and tool yes.
The license to use it once installed, no
Are there any downsides or restrictions later down the line for using this method vs. purchasing a product key?
So I’m late to the video but I did this with windows 10. Same dude same video just with windows 10. The only down side that I noticed is there was a watermark at the bottom right but it’s not super noticeable and blends in eventually in my opinion. It does say in some areas that you need to purchase a key to customize certain settings but never really had an issues with it. I’m am no expert but I use it for gaming after I built my pc and can’t really say I ran into any issues. I have yet to do this for windows 11 though.
@@102swanky I used this method for windows 11 and for about a month now the only downsides I have picked up on is the watermark (which is not very noticeable or a hinderance at all) and you cannot change your desktop wallpaper. Other than that my pc is running perfectly fine.
Hey Joey👋 If i have 2 m.2 nvme ssd's, when i plug in the flash drive, will it go into the first slot which is the pcle 4 or it will it choose which ever to boot itself into randomly?
P.S. first time builder
For what he said, if you have more than one SSD, it will show and u need to choose which one you want to use to install w11.
What changes we have to make in bios except "xmp profile" and "re-sizeable bars" is there anything else I have to do?
Im doing this on a laptop and Im at 5:20 and I cant use my mouse or keyboard to navigate to click "Next" on the windows installation, I really need help
You may need to use an external USB keyboard and mouse.
did you figure it out? i had the same issue and mine was a bad SSD because they sent me a replacement and i plugged it in and it worked .
Just upgraded my SSD in my Acer Aspire TC 885 and now my PC isn't booting :(
Gonna buy a flash drive first thing in the morning and do exactly this. I'll update tomorrow if it works for me! Tia 🙏🏻
UPDATE: Absolutely works. Thank you so much!! Now I can get back to my projects 🫶
New to all this. Once you have windows on the USB and use it. Will there still be a copy on the USB drive to use again in the future?
Yes, nothing is deleted from your USB.
Damn bro my usb isn’t being recognized I need someone to help me
same did you get a fix?
Where is it not being recognized?? Kinda hard to help without details.

Thank you soo much man. I followed your build and help .. I'm just waiting for windows to update. And I can start downloading steam and all my games !
I got a windows 11 product key and a normal clear 8gb stick, now i just download windows 11 on the stick right?
Yep.
Thank you sooooo much for this video.. you literally saved me a couple hundred not having to take in for repair or diagnostics to figure out the issue with my sons computer.. he’s definitely happy about the and not having to be without his computer for a couple weeks.
Hey so after you get your pc up and running how do you get it to start up again once it’s shut off? Do I have to redownload windows every time? It doesn’t go back to the log in screen and now I’m trying to download it again but it’s just stuck on the purple screen I’m so confused
Well it makes no sense to install Windows each time. That's why you install it once and the PC should boot from the drive you installed it on. If this does not happen, you will need to take a look at the boot order in the BIOS. The exact steps and menus/wording vary between manufacturers, but they all have it. Make sure the drive you installed Windows onto is set as the first boot device.
i watched your video on the 650$ budget gaming pc and i just git it built today thatnk you so much crater for helping me get back into gaming :))
Appreciate how clearly you speak!
thank you for this tutorial it was very helpful.
for some reason though, at the point of choosing which drive to install on i have none even though i diffinitelly have an ssd drive.
do you know why that would be?
also could it be that my usb was formated because i cannot find any of my previous files!!!
Been piling up parts for the last month and building my firsy pc tomorrow, thx for this tutorial so i can install windows 11 on the new rig!
Can the external disk with the media creation tool then be repurposed? or does it become useless (or only useful for that? after usage?
Thanks for making it clear, the other videos had me going in circles, yours fixed me up!! I have windows 11 now, thank again...
I’ve just gotten windows onto my usb and done this but when I reboot it comes up with a black screen with a flashing underscore at the top right ?
We’ve all sinned man. We’ve lied, stolen, used God’s name in vain, and more. We now need to repent and trust that Jesus Christ died for our sins on the cross. This is very urgent tomorrow isn’t promised. Our works can’t save us but Jesus can!
Hey man i just wanted to say thank you for helping me build my first PC.... Seriously thank you man. 🙏
sir can u help me everytime i try to boot the pc it keeps crashing what do i do
I deleted all the partitions except the main ssd, I think it deleted some of the software or maybe did it deleted OS stuff? The gigabyte control center was deleted too, is my pc going to be okay? Are those important, how do I recover it
So there's a difference between a partition and an SSD. A partition is a logical division of a drive. You can have a single physical drive with multiple partitions. So if you had a partition with Windows and another partition with your programs, AND you deleted that latter partition, everything on it is gone. There are data recovery programs you can use to attempt to recover a partition and/or data, but they're not guaranteed to work.
had a question so im replacing my pcs motherboard and cpu and am confused about the windows downloading part do i factory reset and clear my other ssd and hdd and then re download with the flash drive?
a completely no nonsense tutorial! Take my sub. Ya earned it.
You don’t know how much you saved my life
You showed a clean installation method
But I want to upgrade with all my important files
so that's one way to force install windows 11,am i going to have any problem with updates and stuff?because i have a b350 motherboard and basically my system doesn't meet the requirements for windows 11.
If you force install W11 on a system that is not officially supported you may have some problems with feature updates I believe.
Building my first gaming/school pc all by myself hopefully this helps🙏🏽🙏🏽
when i went to boot option 1 in my bios it said “general UDisk 5.00” and i saved and exited but it sent me back to my bios what do i do ?????
Is there an option that says that same thing, but with UEFI at the beginning? If so, try that.
If that still doesn't work, disable BIOS mode (maybe called CSM, legacy mode or similar) and make sure UEFI boot is enabled as well as Secure Boot and TPM 2.0
Exact steps on how to do this and where to find the settings vary depending on your computer.
@@JJFlores197 thank you homie i got it

Actual goat thank you just made the process super simple for me as always.I built the exact 800$pc build vid u made around 2019
Hey! Im currently building one of his builds too. Quick question, so when you were done building, and you went to turn the pc on did you already have the usb in the new pc? Or did you wait to see if it powered on and then turn the pc off, plug the usb and then turn it back on? Thank you!
@ I checked to see if it turned on first then I plugged the usb in
You spent $800 to build a 5 year old PC??

@@alberton7382 lol. That makes more sense

I like some of the transitions, but sometimes they're a bit too much and are seemingly random. Since we use these persistent elements that transition across pages to indicate some kind of relationship between the previous and the next states, some of your transitions confuse me because I can't immediately see what the relationship is.
For example 2:23 of the selectable tiles (which weren't selected) transition into being two switches... does that mean anything? are they related in some way? I see this as random and a bad use of the design language. However, at 1:14 I like the transition from switches to the ticks on a paper, that makes sense to me. Epic presentation tho
@wintarvex That's true and I mentioned that in the the 2nd part of my comment.
Awesome vid! One thing though, did the MOBO you are using have TPM 2.0 enabled by default? I know with mine i will have to go into the BIOS and enable that before booting to the W11 flash drive.
Bro i was working with a 9 year old rig that finally gave out.... got something close to your 550 rig.... im in heaven...
Trying to install on the 550 build n it's telling it doesn't meet system requirements
@@ryanbrown81 had the same problem you gotta change some settings in your BIOs, I had to change my TPM and UFEI settings to get it to read it was eligible. TH-cam your MOBO manufacturer and "how to install win 11" or something like that
