This channel and the JK-X is the soul reason i bought a JK.. My daughter was born with a 1% chance of survival and i spent many long nights sitting by her side with earphones in watching your content. You helped me in lifes roughest times and jeeping has given me and my daughter (now 7 year old) countless memories and adventure... Thank you for everything you guys do!

God Bless you and your daughter!
      What a great testament.
Funny how watching these guys creates the courage that would not otherwise come to a reality!
It's because of these guys I'm considering getting my first Jeep.
May you and your daughter have many many more adventurous memories!!!

Mel never leaves someone behind. Watch one video where rear axle broke away and did everything they could to the Jeep and then pulled it out and once on good road it could run the front axle. He knows a lot and it shows when things go bad.

    • @wayalife

Don't know if there was really a "right" line. This was a wide pile of rocks and there were certainly easier ways up but even they changed with every Jeep that crossed it.

    Hey Eddie,
Been watching you and your friends for a couple months trying to decide if I should pull the trigger on a new 2020 4 door JL Rubicon ...
I've reached out to another "TH-cam creator" with no reply, hoping for a different result with you!
I certainly don't want to bother anyone, but how else do you find answers other than going to folks that have first hand knowledge?
After spending hours and hours watching you and Cindy, I decided to give this a shot!
Your videos and content are absolutely fantastic!!!
Hope to hear back from you..
    Take care,
    Razor!

      @@wayalife
Thank you man for getting back..especially so soon...VERY COOL!!
I guess the main reason is I have to hold off because of finances. Last time I checked, my "money tree" hasn't produced like I had hoped...🤣
But the other thing is with so many ways to build one of these, your just not sure which lift to buy and how much lift do you need? From what I have learned, SUSPENSION IS THE MOST IMPORTANT part of a build..🤔
I've also seen a lot of guys buy something and try something else and again change it out again...for me, I'd like to just do it once and be done!
I guess that's why I'm trying to do as much homework and trying to get in touch with the right people like you, your friend Jim at Dynatrac, your other friend, (I think Mel) at EVO and just asking random "Jeep" owners when I see them.
It would be great if I could exchange phone numbers so we could talk at some point!
I will say I won't be able to get one for another few months, but hopefully I'll have enough information to know more about what I want and what will work for me..
Thanks again Eddie, you really made my day!!😎😎😎😎👍
      Razor!

    • @wayalife
      @wayalife  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Being that money is a concern, I might consider looking into a used JK as opposed to a JL. Certainly, they'd be more affordable and there are already a LOT of options available to you when it comes to modifications. The JL is still new and I can guarantee you that what you see now is just the start and more changes will be coming your way. If you buy into stuff now, better things will be available later. Another thing to consider is that you're new to all this. I personally would recommend you start with something a bit more basic and then find out what you really need - this as opposed to having people tell you what you need. There are plenty of decent kits you can buy that will get you started and help you to learn things.

      @razorworks9942 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@wayalife
You have no idea how grateful I am with you taking the time to help a complete stranger!
I have test driven several models including the new Gladiator, if it weren't for the long wheelbase interfering with the "breakover angle" I definitely would consider getting this instead of the JL.
I appreciate your suggestion about buying used, but based on the prices these are going for, I would only have to spend a few thousand more for a new rig and get the factory warranty!
      Besides, I get the 8" info-tainment do-dad... LOL..and a few other goodies!
The first thing I've been asked by those I have been talking to, is what do I want to do with my Jeep? My answer is, a little bit of everything...little to moderate "rock crawling" like you and your friends did in this video, doing some trails, and doing some overlanding. I think running at least a 37 - 38 inch tires, bead-lock wheels,
3 1/2" lift (but from who?) Would be a good start!
Being a welder/fabricator for over 40 years, I will be fabricating my bumpers, sliders, tire carrier, lightbars, etc. I just need help choosing the parts in order to build this thing...
Thank you for the inspiration and taking the time with this "old guy"!
Fortunately I have time to hopefully get everything lined out so I will have a good foundation to hopefully join you on one or more of your excursions!!
I will be looking forward to that day no doubt!!!
      Razor!

Everyone who took on the rock pile was on 40's but there were a few who did not try it. Most are running about 4" of lift with trimmed bodys/fenders. 3.6L with 5.38 gears will get the job done but a number of us had V8's

LOL - nope. The last guy who tried to do that was on the JLX blew his front end on the 2nd day. Everyone is running a ProRock 60, RockJock 60 or UD60

LOL - trust me, it's not what we'd "choose" to imbibe. It's just more tradition than anything - cheap and something most people will take a shot of.
