I don't think Merlin NEEDS a buff, I just think it would be really funny if he got one.
Cu post lb6 is ex for me and I would move Caster Gil up by 2 tiers by the dumb amount of stars his NP gives.
I love Cu but based on ZTL's set of rules, I get why he's ranked a little lower because he's story locked and therefore gets rated as NP1. His damage is not very good at NP1, especially since you won't have enough coins to get append 2 until I think bond 12 and therefore have to use plug or 20 NP mystic code. If he's rated as NP5 then he's probably better than Sieg.
I think Caster Gil is about same as Helena so I'm with you that he should be moved up 2 tiers.

CasGil + Summer BB are core for my Saber Lancelot team. The crits this team outputs oftentimes out damages NPs.
Casters can feel very experimental but i honestly prefer that whackiness over everyone playing the same
i mostly agree with this list though with a few exceptions, i would put Nitocris into A below Scheherezade at best and Murasaki somewhere into A+, Murasaki has some insane support possibilities, party debuff removal resist and debuff immune is insanely good, aoe buff block is insanely good, np seal is insanely good, aoe defense down is great universal damage support, every piece of her kit is something Castoria desperately wants in her own kit so running them together is really good
Caster Gil is also an easy A tier, even without any of the buffs to his kit, put him in any arts team and watch everyone land Arts crits to constantly refill their np, definitely better than Pracelsus imo
Caster Cu belongs into A+ minimum, even without your own Koyan, you can still Buster loop with Black Grail by brining 1 Koyan from support, your Atlas mystic code and Mash with s2 at 10, he's probably the most budget friendly looper since Summer Mo
i think it's a shame that Jekyll kinda seems to have soured the devs on servants reclassing during combat, Miyu and Illya could easily be justified in getting upgrades to their mana bursts that allow them to reclass, maybe give 3 classes each to them, Caster, Saber and Berserker for Illya, Lancer, Rider and Assassin for Miyu and then give them buffs according to what they turned into, big battery for Medea, Dragon Core for Artoria, multiple Guts for Heracles would be the most obvious choices for Illya and for Miyu it could either give her buffs that finally turn her into a good dps or buffs that further her team support, support would probably easier with stuff like pfa, stun and some poison shenanigans but would also likely not improve her much
Miyu could be better if only her 1st skill is targetable buff. I only use it to help her get more NP charge. The built-in stacking charisma on her mini-Merlin NP feels great.

I got my "meta" supports reaaaally late in my Chaldea, so I have used Hans, Shakespeare and Mozart a lot. I did not even had Helena at the time (she came in after I got a lot of SSRs lol). Then I got Caster Gil on release and I used him as my main support for so long. When I got my first SSR Support, it was Skadi on a GSSR, and I was honestly pissed at the time because... I had no units that could loop with her. Then Tamamo. Then Merlin, on one summer banner. I was lucky I got Castoria on release.
But Waver? I rolled for Waver on banners he was featured on since I started playing and I never got him. Never. I had to go and pick him with my first SSR ticket. The audacity xD
And I think I got Helena after I got all the others, except maybe Castoria/Waver. Because of course. xD

Cas gil with his battery is going to be peak. A great support and he will be a viable farmer
Izumo helped me a TON during the Beast IV raid in Tunguska so I'm glad I got her. Even at NP1 she can do about 200-250k neutral damage with Black Grail to anyone with the Demonic trait, which is nuts. Glad she's getting the respect she deserves.
At this point, you might as well make a support tier list or something. That division between EX and Support is kind of iffy with supports mixed in the former.
Gacha is weird at times. I wish it gave me NP5 Cu so I can more reliably Buster loop, but mine is only at NP1. His 3* stats can really be felt when I try to get him to kill chunkier Assassins or Berserkers. Otherwise, he'd be A tier to me.
Here's my list.
Not gonna explain my reasonings for EVERYTHING ( since that would be a LONG ass comment ), but I'll say a few things.
1. There's some units that I have little to no experience using, so for them I just looked at their kit, and factored in some general stuff I've heard about them.
2. The further to the left they are, the higher in the Tier they are, so for example, Illya is higher than Anastasia.
3. I mentioned this with Arash in the Archer list, but I think Chen Gong is pretty overrated. Without their overcharge effects, the two of them have pretty pathetic damage. I put them as high as I did because I recognize that their death mechanics can be useful depending on the situation. But overall, they're not units that I personally would bother bringing pretty much ever.
4. Mephistophelse has ignore DEF on his NP and a 3 TIME BUFF BLOCK on his third skill. Saying he's in the same Tier as Geronimo is CAP (though looking at it again, I think I might have put him a bit too high, but whatever ).
5. Any questions about my placements ( that AREN'T about Chen Gong )? Then feel free to ( politely ) ask.
EX+: Castoria.
EX: Skadi, Merlin, Waver, Tamamo, Andersen, Caster Cu.
A+: Summer Nero, Sanzang, Helena, Nitocris, Okuni, Schehrazade.
A: Caster Gil, Murasaki, Da Vinci, Sieg, Medea, Circe, Asclepius, Caster Shuten, Mephistophelse.
B+: Martha Lily, Miss. Crane, Summer Charlotte, Illya, Anastasia, Sheba.
B: Babbage, Edison, Miyu.
C+: Chen Gong, Caster Liz.
C: Gilles.
D+: Avicebron, Mozart, Paraselcus.
D: none.
E+: Summer Marie, Shakespeare, Medea Lily.
E: Irisvile, Nursery Rhyme.
Don't use: Geronimo.
I got Sieg in maybe my 2nd month playing FGO, he's been one of my best Servants going through the Singularities and Lostbelts. The fact that he's my favorite Fate protag is a pretty nice bonus, too.
I need to ask this about Marie caster. I know her damage is really bad, but is it bottom tier bad? She is support tanky.
As EX Tier is also for strategic support and utility servants, let's just put these Casters in EX (support) tier: Chen Gong, Paracelsus, Asclepius, Mozart, and Shakespeare. These supports are the ace of low-tier CQ, they should not be tiered at all. As for me, the truly non-support EX Tier Caster (solo-capable servant) is Xanzang.
Here's what I'd change (mainly):
Castoria should have her own tier, I can't just sit here and pretend she's on the same level as... well, pretty much everybody else. Skadi and Merlin should be a tier (or two) below, Waver arguably below Skadi and Merlin, then you can maybe group the rest together.
Why are Medea Lily and Iri in the same tier but Paracelsus is not when he's clearly far superior to both? Three tiers below is wild.
Charlotte is more consistent than Illya, has more battery (part of which is targetable, a plus for multicore), higher damage ceiling and inherently better card type. In fact, she is probably the best ST caster in the game, I think only Izumo might have a case, being equally consistent. Meybe Sanzou. But definitely not Illya.
I'd also knock Sieg and Nitocris one tier down. Sieg has fallen off a bit with 90+ and 90++ being a thing, while Nitocris rarely manages to reliably kill everything I'd need her to kill.
Man I fucking hate how a broken phone lost me my Illyasviel.
It's quite obvious that the devs way back from Delight Works wanted the Caster class to be mostly composed by support units, but because of class advantage they were forced to make some of them effective DPS units even though all of them literally have a *negative damage modifier* by default, which nowadays has proved to be an awful decision because many good units have been hold back because of the bad class DMG modifier, many times almost making them worse than classes that shouldn't be as effective against Assassin enemies like Alterego and Berserker if it wasn't for the high refound on NP.
The main thing that hurts Helena is the excessive cooldown timers on all of her skills. At 10/10/10 her cooldowns are 7/6/7 respectively, which is a problem that Abby shares with her. It's not like she would be super broken if she had normal cooldowns, since her buffs are okay but not super strong. What hurts more is that her np damage buff is luck based, so if it misses you don't get another go for six turns. Her and Waver would go great together for double support since their third skills multiply into each other, but Helena would become a bottle neck in longer battles and you would be forced to wait that extra turn for her last skill to become available if you want all of your buffs.

NP5 Cu Caster is definitely EX. I took him to NP5 on that initial Morgan banner and he just smites.
Helena is a terrific sub when you can't use a Castoria such as in story nodes that force you to take a particular servant (and her idol costume is adorable).
Totally agree with you for both Sanzou and Illya.
Nitocris is terrific w/double Castoria and could easily deserve EX tier (and again her idol costume rocks)
Caster Umu is the AOE equivalent of Sansou and Illya, my dude and you totally were off that mark there. Her kit is like bonkers strong (S1 50% battery, S2 making her damage neutral to ALL classes with +30 Att/Def and that targetable guts and ADDITIONAL +50% 3 turn attack buff on her S3) and with buster looping just makes her superior to most other AOE casters. You need to reevaluate that one bro, big time.

Solid tier list, only changes I'd make is moving up circe a tier or two cuz she's definitely better in her roll as a 100% charge st caster than Medea

Nasu is doing an interview/talk show with David Jiang, the director for Honkai. There's probably nothing that will come out of it for game content, but it's probably cool to hear two industry heavyweights talk about game design and such if you are into that sort of thing.

I have to say... with a Supscope (or scope+append) in a buster rotation is really easy (that's everything you require) to rotate Crane twice with her NP and really maximize Oberon's 3rd skill.
The party cost for this team setup is pretty high, it's pretty nice if you just want to look at the maximum amount of damage that you can do but you have to really skimp on CE's and it's kind of an overkill for most things in the game.
@@zs190 right, I'm just saying...because that was the first thing I did once I got my Koyanchihua and ObeSus...check the damage of Morgan, Meluko and Spishtar, the first time I tried that, and the last time I did it.
It's just curiosity.
This tier list is a permutation where everyone is in the wrong spot.
