8 Tips for successful budgie BREEDING 🐣
- I have put all the basic information about 𝗯𝘂𝗱𝗴𝗶𝗲 𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 that you need to keep in mind. 😃 I mean, I'm not a budgie breeder but I can gladly help with this as I 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 it with Benji and Shakira, my two budgies who raised their #chicks.

like I've said, you need some basic stuff to breed budgies.
let's start with 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗴𝗲
- needs to be wide
- 60x40 cm of the size at least
- needs 3 perches
- feeders and water bottles
the second important thing is a *𝗯𝘂𝗱𝗴𝗶𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗽𝗹𝗲*, to breed them, you need male and female, and both need to be at least 11 months old and love each other. preening, kissing, feeding, and courting each other is a great sign that they fell in love 😍
now goes a pre-breeding and *breeding 𝗱𝗶𝗲𝘁*... with healthy food you will force your birds to mate because in the wild when there's plenty of food, especially in summer, that means that the breeding season will start! 😁 offer sprouted seeds, vegetables, fruits, soft food, seeds, cuttlefish bones, mineral block, organic apple cider vinegar, water drops 💧

then, I mentioned a 𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗯𝗼𝘅 that needs to be big and made of wood, with a concave inside, and a door that you can open or close, I recommend the size of 25x18x18 cm and with 5 cm of hole (entrance), here is how you can attach the nest 10:12 😁 Place a concave dish inside the nesting box to prevent splayed legs
now what you need to observe is a sign of *a pregnant budgie*, after they have mated you will notice a swollen abdomen, excessive eating, spending more time inside the best box, and other sounds that you can see here 12:17 🐥
after she lays an egg, in that period you're going to give more water, calcium food, and vegetables, then after 18,19,20, or 21 days of incubating - the first chick will hatch.
𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗴𝗴𝘀 𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵?
- that means that they are not fertile :( or the chick died in the embryo state probably because the eggs were not incubated properly, a female was laying on them with wet feathers, or it got broken somewhere... you can throw the eggs and try after a year :(
note: female budgies can lay eggs even without a male but they're going to be infertile 😕
𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝗯𝘂𝗱𝗴𝗶𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗲𝗴𝗴𝘀?

they can be bred only twice a year, too much breeding is exhausting and it's going to kill both of the parents
𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴?
- I would choose rainy and warm months such as July - August - September - October
𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘂𝗱𝗴𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗸𝘀?
- keep giving them vegetables, seeds, a few fruits, and of course egg food 🥚
... for 30 days, they're going to be fully feathered and then they start coming out of the nest. now it's time to start the weaning period 17:13

Very nice video. What is the liquid food in the syringe. Our parakeets laid her first egg the other day on the bottom of the cage and poked a hole in it, the second egg she laid I believe she ate it, now the third egg I tried putting in a deep bowl and they keep pushing it out and rolling it around the cage so I'm not sure what's going to happen. Any suggestions would be great. I do not have a nesting box I probably can make one we didn't even know she was pregnant.
That's baby bird formula I believe that's also to do if you want to help feed baby birds to be tamer as hand fed baby bird by human help?

When to start handfeeding? And should I separate them from their parents when I start handfeed so they don’t feed them too?
If the parents are feeding the babies, leave them to do the job, they do a better job of rearing young than humans do.

Newly hatched chicks are fed by their parents...Some of them lost their parents so I have to hand feed them. It's a handfeeding formula for young birds

Get a second male and put in with the pair.
Then the female is not interested in the male i should say get another male
My male has been ready to mate for like over half a year and my female has been laying eggs for about half a year and she wants to hatch them but she doesn't wanna mate and we were considering separating my male and female because the male has been attacking her when she'd deny his advances
Well I guess they ended up mating because a singular egg hatched and it was like a moment of clarity for my male bird
The first few days he was jealous and wanted the female to give him more attention but then she started letting him look at the baby and he has been so sweet to her ever since and even started feeding and caring for the baby as well and it warms my heart
He still wants to mate and desperately does his lil dances for her and I think she understands that mating is how they got the baby because she's been letting him try but he's like twice her size so every time he ends up falling off almost immediately and it's so funny
Or the age of the female budigie is less not ready to breed
