Than, why don't you talk about what's going on with the machine shop vs the academy. Have you dissolved the machine shop, have you sold it, have you stepped away, are you letting it run itself? Are you only doing the academy, or are you still doing both?
he probably got support form the government. they pay him to buy more machines and fund his academy to keep jobs in america and spread the craft that is CNC machining. i honestly think that its great, if that now is the case.
@@rock3tcatU233 Most are made in N. America or the USA. Doosan makes most of their machines destined for the N. America market in New Jersey. All of the big, reputable Japanese and Korean machine tool manufacturers have manufacturing facilities in N. America. I would even venture a guess that they manufacture more in N. America/USA than in their home countries.
@@xenonram they don't build in New Jersey, that's just their US corporate headquarters. I've been there numerous times. A lot of Doosan machines are built by no name Korean OEMs, as are most of the other major Korean machine tools like Samsung (smec, smart) and Hyundai Wia.
Machinist is a term that encompasses a wide array of skills, programming, setting up and knowing tooling, choosing workholding, and the art of metal cutting. I would argue it goes further though, a machinist can engineer solutions and problem solve. A machinist is willing to go further and learn about heat treating, grinding, coatings, and even learn to weld. It takes a lifetime to master a trade, but entry should not be as hard as it is. Your academy is going to help those willing to put in the time and effort, there will be no excuses not to advance in this trade.
Finally! This is nearly the exact setup I have. Looking forward to the fanuc tutorials as well as the edge bar feeder programming. Not much support out there for Edge! Thanks Titan and Team!
We have several Doosans at our shop, one thing that I'd love to see in your academy is ez guide i tutorials, i am fairly good at using it but I am very much self taught, would like to see tutorials that I could learn from and share with coworkers! Keep it up!

I worked on Puma 280m's and Lynx 220m's and a Puma SY loved working on them. Great CNC's for the price made some nice stuff on them, I found that the Manual guild programming system on them is good, also worked well with B macro programming. If i remember right they had 5.5k motors on the driven tooling.

Its fun seeing these machines while I’m building my own CNC mill (way smaller than anything in Titans shop besides the tormachs). Can’t wait to finish grinding my steel and get things put together and LinuxCNC driving it. Thanks for the awesome stuff titan!
Just love the time you take to explain...clearly. I am in charge of a Supplier Quality group (tech & Eng) for our R&D division and our core is supplier's process development and validation. Focus is on machining these days so very greatful for all the info. very nice work!!
As a machine tool technician, i can tell you, box way are cool to work with cause they are strong, but they don’t age very well. Make sure to often check the lubrication, and adjust the play to keep them straight
There we go, my favorite twin spindle bar feeder. We use it in our company to manufacture hundreds of titanium/steel pistons for calipers and some other high volume batches of small parts for F1/Motsport, all in one go. Just be careful when tooling up those 24 stations to avoid collision. Boom!
Hi Titan, genuine question here - have you ever considered investing in sliding head / Swiss type lathes? Seem to be plenty over here in the UK manufacturing parts for aerospace and the motor industry
With so much inspiration you should be walking on air. Then giving the information to the entry level to allow them to climb and become a active member of the manufacturing society. That takes some commitment and drive. Amacf
American workers need technology to compete. Haas simply doesn’t make a premium machine. They have a great machine that is great on a certain level... but even they use DMG MORI to make their own machines... We have a ton of Haas tutorials, Tormach, DMG MORI, Makino... now we are also making Doosan and Fanuc tutorials. Doosan is a premium machine at an affordable price that allows Americans to compete in a global market.

I ran a Doosan VTR1620M Vertical. That thing was strong as hell.
