Important tip for seawater/saltwater: Remove battery asap. And then dunk it completely and flush it in freshwater before all the drying procedure. Otherwise salt will stay in and will attract moisture and corrosion. After drying relubricate all metal parts. Happy flying and diving to You all :)
Most of the time it’s over in salt water. Corrosion wil do its work, faster if you start after a water damage. It may fly now… but for how long? The motherboard, GPS board with IMU and barometer, ESC board (Engine Speed Controller) etc and connectors will affect the electronics in the long run. Not always do.
Nice helicopter! Incredibly detailed and accurate. When you zoomed in on it while flying, it looked like the actual helicopter performing a sea rescue! Great flying and explaining everything. Thanks for sharing!
super video Steve 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 glad that everything went ok the end .. the multi angle shooting recording video added a fine excellent touch to the video .. very entertaining and full with infos .. rising my hat for you 👏🏻👏🏻
Well done Captain !!; the footage of the Copter against the grey sky / clouds looked amazing !!(and very life like!!); glad to to see the Copter "rescued itself" after drying out !!!
Again a very nice edited video! The different camera angles and the footage from your mini drone makes it a joy to watch. I am into manually controlled 3D helis, but for beginners this heli will be a great way to get into this wonderful hobby. Good that there was a happy ending to the unplanned water resistance test. It's really a NAVI heli!
They definitely upgraded the package with this cage it now comes in. It looked great over the water, but I think the SAR version would look even better there.
Anything electronic if it gets wet, remove the power as fast as possible, like take the battery out in this case. It's not that the water does the damage per se, it's more that if the circuit is powered on it can cause the electronics to short. Oh and let if dry naturally, don't use a hairdryer or put it on a radiator. Funnily enough, about 15 minutes before I sat down to watch this, I was flying my little Eashines spy heli indoor. The heli flew in to the curtains and fell in the cats water fountain thing. The worst thing about it was that I had used a bit of tape to keep the battery in place as it kept falling out, so it took me a minute or 2 to remove the battery. I've got it drying out in it's box, I'll try it again tomorrow, hopefully its OK.
Nice video Steve. Couldn't have scripted it better, with the water rescue of the water rescuer! Nicely detailed helicopter, and if it were 3 times bigger, I would consider it on looks alone. I fly a lot over salt water, and in my experience, a fresh water rinse, followed by a 91% isopropyl alcohol(71% works too) rinse and brush if you can, has saved me more than a few servo's, and flight control boards. That said, it was an enjoyable video. It looks pretty cool by itself where you can't scale it. I was going to say how flying this is like a camera drone, and not much skill is involved, but damn, those automatic features! My camera drone lost signal, and decided to do a get home dash, only not going high enough to clear the tree between me and the drone. Lol. Keep up the cool videos.
That was almost a 600 dollar paper weight lol.........Great video Steve one of the huge reasons I really love your channel is you show your mishaps along with everything else!
I dunked my Mini SE drone in afresh water stream and it lives still. I just stick it in the sun afterwards and then when I got home stuck it in a bowl of rice overnight. I got very lucky I believe.
Great video ! I’ve never had much success with Rc aircraft just got a dji mini 2.0se last year . Very tempted with this as it looks awesome and very scale and I think I would be capable of flying without disaster .
It's not that I wouldn't spend that kind of money on an RC heli, it's more I wouldn't spend that kind of money on a heli this size and this type, like a scale model. If I was dropping that kind of dough it would be on a 'proper' RC heli, like one that could fly 3D and all that good stuff.
@@kabutze3312 If you want to learn to fly manually controlled and potentilly 3D capable helis I would recommend you the OMPHOBBY M2 EVO. You can fly it in the beginning with self level mode to get the orientations straight and with some experience switch of all help functions. It a great small but very capable heli!
You have really honed your craft. Your videos are getting so professional now. The editing and the graphic effects are A1. The content tells a story, so I assume you use a story board to build it or do you just kick it out your brain as you are editing? 👍👍😀
@@kabutze3312 Maybe start with something like Eachines E128 or Rc Era V128, it's basically the same thing just with a different name, they are less complicated to fly, after you have flown them a bit, go for something like a Blade Nano S3, which will be a bit tougher to fly. Have a look at some youtube videos, there's loads out there.
I think ONLY the USA uses REMOTE ID, so that means that since the rest of the world does not require it, then it is not in too many products. It is certainly not in this one.
That was cool! Especially the water landing! I had thought it would be neat if the helo could come with Canadian Navy markings, only to discover that Canada's Navy doesn't own any aircraft at all, let alone helicopters! All aircraft that operate in support of RCN (even the ones operating from ships) are owned by the RCAF. How weird, is that? It is so strange to go to all the trouble of integrating the service branches into a unified force, and then to demarcate who runs which functions so severely. I'd say its counterintuitive. But given that Canada's prime minister is ... oh, nevermind.
Someone needs a Canadian military history lesson. RCAF is Canada, as in the Royal Canadian Air Force, which is the same designation as per Canada’s involvement of WWII. We do have the Sikorsky CH-148 Cyclone as our heli on warships.
Geez....for that $$$ you'd think it would deploy a raft to save itself in the event of an unplanned water landing;). Might be dicy in the rain though! Fun vid!
Thanks for sharing. I was wondering, could you do a review on a fishing drone? I'm looking at those that take your line out when ocean fishing and releasing the line after it reaches a desired length from shore. If you have, please let me know. Thanks!
Actually good because there are a number of versions of this heli all using same or similar parts. The odds of crashing one is minimal, unless of course you let it land in water like me 😂
Normally to increase or decrease the headspeed it needs to be programmed into the flight controller. You'd probably need some form of software to do it with this unit and/or a hobby grade transmitter.
