I have 3 males and 2 females all in one cage. I put a breeding box in the cage when one female laid a couple eggs. There are 2 pairs and one bird gets beat up by the other birds. Now they are all fighting. I took the one male out and put him in another cage. The other 4 birds keep fighting so I took the box out. There are 8 eggs and I don't know whose eggs they are. They are still fighting and someone was bleeding, not sure which bird got injured. What can I do to get them to get along. They all got along before. Is it better to separate the mating pairs? What do I do with the male who gets beat up?
I’m not sure. I know it’s best to breed budgies individually but people still breed in aviaries without problems. Just do a little research and figure out what’s best for you.
It is ultimately up to you, the amount of time you have to care for them and the space. Cockatiels are from Australia just like parakeets and breed in colonies. If you have the space for an aviary I would recommend that. It is less maintenance and easier to breed since more space makes them happier and creates breeding behavior. If you want certain colors or mutations, individual is best since you have more control. In aviaries they will chose their own mates. Hope this helps!
I just got a pair of cockatiels and they are already laying eggs but I wasn’t ready and I am getting a box today. There is an egg in the bottom of the cage. Mu husband put a cardboard bog on the size until we get their box, what do I do now?
I would not recommend breeding if you are worried about tameness. If it bonds with another bird it’s less likely to stay friendly with you from passed experiences.
Hi! i got a box for my birds but they fight over it even though neither of the go fully inside and my cockatiel who is usually friendly and tame has become very angry, agressive and territorial. they also scream alot! what could i do? (sorry for bad english)
Nice video! Thanks for sharing. Do your birds breed year round? I’ve thinking about getting some cockatiels but was not sure if they are seasonal breeders or will they breed year round. Thank you.
I don't about this guys birds, but our birds will breed year round, we do remove nest boxes to give breaks so they can get their vitamins built back up but returning to laying about 2 weeks after we return the nest
Thanks for sharing👍 i have a lutino &a w/f. .they just had 3 baby(1st time) i didn't had a chance to take off the box that i found an egg The baby are 5 weeks old.
People keep telling me not to have 2 breeding pairs of tiles in one cage cause they fight for territory that it's better to have each tiel pairs have there own cages
i have a male but i didnt know it was a male till i got a dna test after i bought him and i want to buy him a female but how do i buy a female cockatiel without the risk of it being a male?
A female cockatiel will have striations under the wings and typically be pearl or have little color. I’ve developed an eye for sexing and it just comes with practice. You can also feel their pelvic bones. If they are pointy and together it’s a male and if they are more rounded or separated it’s a female. But I would recommend looking at color
hello wear did u get the eggfood at please
Ur white bird hit the Latino one is this normal because I have a new cockatiel and my old cockatiel keeps hitting the new one

Individual breeding or group breeding which is best for cockatiels ?

How do "glue" the nest to the outside cage???????
You can see he used bolts and big rings around the corners. Look at the corners from the left box it's more visible👍
Thank you so much for the great video, very helpful.

Good information. how much time take to get semen from male cockatiel for 2nd insemination ?

Some colours are sexually dimorphic. Buy an already mature cockatiel that can be visually sexed (Males look different from females)
