How to breed lovebirds in 2022? Episode. 1

This video is the first of a series and goes over the very basics of successful lovebird colony breeding. It goes over the basic care and requirements as well as some details about the step by step breeding process. In future videos I will discuss specific details about breeding such as sexing lovebirds, food, supplements and how you could get started; as well as why you can't mix lovebird species :) I will also dedicate other videos on bird care and other bird related topics including cutting wings and nails, training birds, hand feeding and nutrition. I have been in the bird business for over 8 years and work at one of the biggest bird stores in the nation. Im always willing to learn and engage in the bird community

Hey bro I have two Fischer lovebirds both are yellow and orange, I have a female and male. I added a calcium block to the side of their cage and they also have a nesting box with wood shavings inside. I give them boiled egg and seeds with two different trays, lovebirds eat together show many signs of bonding, but how long will it take for them to start mating/breed?

Hello, I am currently feeding them a seed diet that consists of millets, safflower, buckwheat, oats and other seeds. I feed fruits and vegetables and my eggfood is from volkman seed featherglow! I will do a video on diet soon :)

You can! But there’s a chance that if you mix fisher and blackmask after a couple of generation you will have a hybrid that is infertile.
