I vote for Monty as the papa bird!!!! Your birds are so beautiful and fun to watch!!! I think they all reflect your superior care and love for them!!! Thank you for sharing your pets with us, and I look forward to watching more of your videos.
How delightful! Monty and Willow setting up "house"! I'm happy for them and for you. I hold the faith that you will have new baby cockatiels to love on. 🧡🧡 It appears that I think Monty is the Daddy...😃 Many flock blessings to you all...🌻🌻🌻
Hiya Donna, I enjoyed your story on the Cockatiels. It’s really cute how the 2 males were trying to win over willow. They did every little thing you said they would do , step by step.Willow is a good mom. It’s how they are so caring about their birdies to be. I think perhaps they both might be the father lol. Some babies are Monty’s and some Jingles. I enjoyed this little video. I am anxious to see what happens.I hope you had an enjoyable Moms day too. Bye for now.
Hi Donna, she may not have to choose. I had a white femail parakeet Johnny, laid eggs. During the time of the eggs, my half English/half American purple parakeet Paul, took care of her feeding and helped sit on eggs. All other 15 parkeets were very interested in the happenings, one in particfular; my blue American parakeet Sky. When the babies hatched the first male Paul, hung around and sometimes fed Johnny but Sky took over feeding and caring for the babies. Only 2 hatched of 6 eggs, Ori and Dori. Recently Ori paired up with Penelope and had 2 babies. So Johnny and Paul are granny and gramps to Steve and Orpe. Good Luck with your flock.
This is such a lovely video and very informative. I've been following your channel for 4 years now and I'm very fond of Monty; he thinks he's boss of the bird room, LOL. He would raise his shoulders and open his beak when other birds would get too close. Love how he sits high above everyone in "his" bird room. Most recently, I've seen some clips where you placed a stick-on perch onto a window and Monty would sit on it, looking thru the window onto the snow covered back yard, and Willow was sitting right along with him; a beautiful couple. Now with Willow laying the eggs, Monty has really stepped up and will climb into the nest box whenever Willow comes out, such a lovely sight. Please keep the information coming with whatever develops; hoping to see a hatching soon. 😀
Im so excited to see if youll have babies! They are such beautiful birds. I love your channel! I have a lutino. Shes 1 1/2 yrs old. I also have a lovebird that resembles Sprinkles. Im traveling to Canada in the Summer. I would absolutely love to meet you and all of your beautiful birds. Connie
You must be so happy 😂. I think Monty's the daddy. You said that the first two she laid when she was with Jingles were both infertile. I really hope that you get at least one baby. I'm so looking forward to updates 🤞. Best wishes from Linda in Scotland 🏴 x
Wonderful precious watching these wonderful birds tweeting in beautiful colors Well done precious I am a bird lover I wish you a life 🥰 full of joy with these beautiful birds
Thank you for sharing this beautiful video that is packed with so much information. You covered everything and what a great educational video! In my mind, without a doubt, Monty is the Dad to these eggs. Only the daddy would be committed to the most stressful and hardest jobs in the life of the bird. Jingles may have had an interest in Willow but isn’t doing what an expected father would be doing. Would there be a way to genetically test the babies to verify who is the father is like in humans? This is all very very interesting. Like you, I have never bred birds before as well. What is the lifespan of cockatiels since the male can bred into his twenties safely which I was not aware of at all?
Hi. If the baby is a white face then it's probably Jingles however Willow and Jingles breeder will let me know as she knows alot about genetics. I hope the one baby hatches, 2 would be better but not sure if it's fertile.
@@Loveofpets I hope for 2 babies as well so they can have company. I also thought that if the babies have yellow faces ( both parents have yellow faces), then the babies are Monty’s. I just love how genetics plays the role of coloring and mutations. I know you said 21 days for incubation but how many days left in the incubation period now? ETA of the babies, LOL?
Hi, I have a question. I didn't do DNA on my cocktails but I bought one with more pale cheeks thinking it was a female, but now it's trying to jump on my male cockatiel and he is, of course, not letting him. Is it possible to have a male with pale orange cheeks?
Hi. I put paper bedding in the nest box. It's in the hamster section of the pet store. I am going to try pine shaving as well. Avoid cedar shavings as the scent is toxic. They will push some out of the nest to make it to their liking.
my cockteils spend hours inside the nest box without any eggs, the female now poops large poops from sitting in the nest all day… could it be that she is too young to breed? or is normal for the couple to spend hours of the day just sitting in the box, i put the box after seeing them mate and thought they are ready
did your cockatiels lay in the nest box together? my male keeps going into the nest box and pecking at the female. they have laid 12 eggs and now i see one egg has been kicked out of the nest.
They were rarely in the box together. She laid eggs while the make was out. They took turns incubating the eggs. 12 eggs is alot and usually unheard of. Are you sure they are not both females and they are laying eggs together?
Hi, how do I feed my budgies coriander seeds, whole or ground?. I am having a hard time with making their dry mix at night. I think I am making it too hard. I just can't afford a lot of different kinds of dry stuff. Not sure what to do. Should I soak seeds and grain. Confused. I did watch your video on a dry mix . But I can't buy that many different seeds and grains. I do have a good variety. I just don't know if to soak. They won't eat hard dry things. Please help
Is coconut fiber ok to use for a nesting box? My budgies have been, um, “going to town,” and while I have tried to break it up every time and I did everything that all of the experts have said to do to stop hormones (limit daylight hours, make sure they’re not eating soft moist foods, etc) well I guess if you have a male and a female together this is what happens in the Spring. We got a nest box and a bunch of fake eggs and some coconut fiber and the female has been spending all of her time hanging out and around the nest box. And I guess we will have to replace her eggs with fake eggs because we don’t want to become budgie breeders, as I’ve seen how people around here treat pet budgies. And I can’t have more budgies in my rental apartment. Sad. But that’s how it has to be
Because sometimes when any animals lays eggs or have babies they don't usually feel very well and by the your white faced and gray cockatiel is very pretty jingles I loves him so much ❤️
Whoa, didn't think male cockatiels would still breed that old. I read that to old was 10-14 years on males, and 5-8 years for females (after that there is a higher chance at health defects / stressful on older females bodies). My 9 year old male has 0 interest in my 3 year old female xD My 3 year old budgies (5 of them) also don't seem to ever breed. Which I am not trying to or anything. I did get nest boxes for everyone just in case though. The only thing I can think of is I make sure they get 13 hours of dark quiet sleep. To mimic the winter season when they don't breed. I am paranoid about egg binding on my females. How will you ever know who is the father, do they have full paternal DNA work ups for birds too? I know they use DNA testing to determine sex of some species of birds.
Willow and Jingles breeder is a well known and respected breeder and bird show judge. She has males that breed into their 20's with no problems. She told me Monty can produce babies if healthy and willing. I will be able to tell by the color of the baby on who the father is.

My device goofed. It’s wonderful how they both are caring for their feathers babies to be.💝
So basically they are just like pigeon, although less dirty, more cuddly and cute 😂
Looks like You're going to be a granny Donna! 🥰 ..how exciting. Look forward to baby day 🐣
I hope at least the one hatches. I can't wait to say I am a granny, lol
Oh Monty. Love ❤️ him. What a sweet, complicated boy haha. Just like my boy Putin (named before war) due to his attitude. Xx

So much looking forward for the babies. And it looks, your budgies, too. I hope their feathers will tell who's the father😍
Wow, Monty ditched poor Sprinkles as soon as a lady came along.
Sprinkles has a budgie friend now but he misses Monty feeding him. He tries to get under the blanket to see Monty.
Awe bless Willow and Jingles, everyone's so excited to see new babies soon, love from Scotland. 😍
This is wonderful to watch! Thank you for sharing your experience.
Great video! I loved it! Very interesting. Your birds are all so sweet! I love the names you have for them. 😍 Thanks for sharing!
Great video! Very informative. I've been following your channel for years and you are still my most favorite youtuber 🥰🥰
Yay! Thank you!
Congrats, hoping to see few babies 😍🤩🥳
Wow that’s amazing!
Congratulations..wishing to see new babies soon
My first cockatiels name was Willow, and the cockatiel i have now is named Monty! What a coincidence
Now you need another one named Jingles 😄
I always think you must be cleaning up poop all day. 😆🙂

Monty is a golden girl, 17 years old!
so cute.
She eats a lot to give birth to a baby🥰✨
Awesome video!! Thanks for info
Yaaaaay congratulations I hope they hatch
Hopefully one hatches. I should know by the end of next week
I’ve been hoping this would happen!
Sounds like an episode of Maury…. 🫣Monty 🦜 , in the case of 3 week old veiny egg🪺🐣, you are NOT🪹the father!!! 🙀🤯🦅🦇🕊🦅😢

Poor Jingles, he’s trying so hard! My money’s on Monty.

Thank so much. You have been so much help to me in my healthly budgies journey.
