MERRY CHRISTMAS (in 1 hour) TO EVERYONE!!! My friend told me I cant use my magik alt account gameplay as the video, so I had to do it lol. Enjoy watching me frontline in bronze and silver! I love yall and hope you enjoy! P.S. I will be releasing a much longer super in depth guide about my climb, I just wanted to get something to help everyone before Christmas because I probably wont have time to record for a week.
I found a bug on PS5. If you change your Call-out button mapping to (X) all characters will lose their jump and this can't be reset. Meaning you can permanently remove the jump button!!! Please help me spread this knowledge, This bug makes the game literally unplayable!
Dude… idk why but the second healer always ALWAYS forgets about the other support when I play healer my secondary object is to try and keep my support healer alive.. when they need heals I heal them
If they're just being healers, sure, they need protection. If they're playing SUPPORT and actually paying attention, they can protect themselves a lot of the time, and that is a mandatory skill for climbing to higher ranks
@@Harmonic14but u gotta note, DPS' kit are always 3 step ahead of healers also it is also not a sin for tanks and dps to look back for some moments. u dont know how many healers i saved when i look back when im the tank
@@sandhywinartja8662this , there’s so many times we can’t outrun divers like Ironfist , or black panther or Psylocke , once we get locked in if there’s no one to back up , we will die lmfao. @@SinisterSinatraa This happened to me last night. Guy on team wouldn't switch and threw while psy, next game he was on the opposite team and they lost as he did bad and instalock psy again
one small hint that helps a lot both for yourself and the team is telling people when they do good stuff. earlier i had a game where our Jeff constantly had uptime on healing and spamming bubbles all over the place, so i told him "dude you are doing really well with the heals" and i just instantly felt the team went for his orbs way more often, people kept surviving more because they sought him out and kept him safer. When we got a Venom who just kept distracting their dps by being a menace, diving in and yeeting himself away every 2 seconds i told him his distractions were peak and kept all of us in a better position. be a homie to the team and they will both appreciate it and return the favor boosting morale and making the game, even on a loss a waaaay better experience.
@leocoyne-xk8gq how are you 10-lose streaking in bronze? You get like 50 points for every win and lose like 10 so you can't be in bronze for more than like 10 games.
@@Godsane this game is so easy, I think I have 65% winrate in ranked basically one-tricking mantis, and the only time I lose is when the DPS players should have picked support or just need to uninstall the game because even I can't make up for the DPS gap (I usually ace/MVP every game because I play very aggressive style of support). It's obviously harder than Overwatch 2 but way easier than Overwatch 1.
I think the biggest piece of advice for climbing in any team game is that you are the common denominator for all of your games. Like yeah you can get unlucky but you can also get lucky and it's up to you to take advantage of the times you are lucky and mitigate the times when you're not
Yup even as a solo queue player it only took me like a week to reach diamond. Now ofc you're gonna be disadvantaged in solo queue but I've finally reached the point where I'm good enough to way counter balance that and fly through ranks by being much better and you will too if you're truly good enough.
In life this works but in this god forsaken game this doesn’t always some teammates just have a clue and it’s going to be an L regardless of what you do.
Hawkeye is weak to dive, but not a lot of players understand how to execute Dive. When I play Hawkeye, if I'm not dove, I have good games. When I am dove, I have bad games and have to swap. If you saw the pro tournament this weekend, there were quite a few rounds that Hawkeye wasn't banned, yet he still wasn't picked. Then, when he did get picked, he got dove twice in the first 2 minutes, dying both times, and he immediately swapped off. Psylocke, Magic, Black Panther, and Starlord eat him for breakfast. Sniper characters need to be pocketed vs good flankers.
Bahaha just know you gotta be more like high diamond 3 for that. One single plat player in the whole match and there goes the bans. It's so stupid too because there's no regular master rank above diamond before GM. Diamond is the 2nd highest regular rank. That's wayyyy too high to start adding bans to games.
@@Frozoken Do you mean there should be bans below Diamond or above Diamond? On a ranked scale, the words high and low sometimes aren't intuitive. I do think there should be bans at Plat. Fun story, but all I heard before getting to Plat was that I'd see a lot of good Hawkeyes and Hela's, and that would be the last time they play them before they get banned out in Diamond. So I get to plat, and I'm thinking, "why is the enemy team going Iron man? We have a Hela on our team." Bro, I lost my first two games in Plat to Iron man, and no one could take him out of the sky. I was playing Luna Snow one game, and I hit him out of the air with my freeze ability, and no one could capitalize on that. So now I know that this whole, Iron man is week in Plat, and strong when Hela/Hawkeye are banned, is a bunch of bs. Man some of the players in gold took out Iron man easier, but maybe those players climbed to Diamond + before I could get there, and now Plat is filled with people who can't even make Hela work against Iron man. Me personally, I have no issue taking Iron Man out of the air with Hawkeye, but I can't play DPS most games, because everyone else wants to play DPS, and half the time I pick Hawkeye, I have Psylocke and Black Panther up my ass, so I need to have a deeper Duelist pool to play Duelist in ranked consistently.
@@Eastra3 I'm saying bans should should start at earlier ranks I'd honestly even say gold but yeah at least plat. My other point was with only 6 ranks rather than the 7 or 8 most other games have. Gold, plat and diamond seem lower rank then they actually are. Ie I'm diamond 2 which is literally a fraction of a percent away from top 1% where as it'd be top 5-10% in overwatch or valorant
@@cameronroberts4296 My mouse doesn’t have a thumb button on the side… and also i use my middle finger to scroll the wheel so it’s very fluid to do shot into melee.
@@Yurnyl That’s what I’m saying. Definitely damage boost a teammate if they are doing a bunch of damage or are in an aggressive position. However, it is way more consistent to damage boost yourself. IMO it’s the strongest part of her kit.
magik is hard because of the basic dive gameplay and having to change your playstyle with 1 tank or 2 tanks and also the combos aren't the hardest just shift, left click + E, left click, melee, right click but having to know when to waste all your cooldowns and when not to make her hard for shitters
(EU) I'm grandmaster 1, almost eternity after playing for a little over a week and I have to say that what you said with losers queue, you might be onto something. Every now and then I get the worst loss streak imaginable with the most toxic and just fundamentally flawed teammates but then the day after I go on to win back all the rr I lost the night before + more. The tip to quit after losing might generally be a good tip but I think that if you want to be THE BEST and your goal isn't just to climb the ranks then you would probably be better off just playing anyways and trying to learn from all the mistakes. I actually reached diamond in my first day of playing ranked and I was just winning non stop and the games felt so easy. Then when I got to diamond I eventually started losing some games and I started doubting my own skill and I wondered if I was just bad because prior to this I was on a massive win streak. My loss streak went all the way down to Plat 2, and then the day after I climbed all the way up to Diamond 2. Then in Diamond 2 I went back and forth between diamond 3 and 2 for a while and I wasted a bunch of time down there. Then just recently like four days ago I hit grandmaster 3, then I went between Diamond 1 and Grandmaster a couple times, and then eventually I just won won won won won and it put me up to grandmaster 2, then I went on a loss streak and almost went down to grandmaster 3 again but I managed to break through into grandmaster 1. Now my games are decent but I did lose two matches yesterday to a cheater in GM and I just logged on the game and it says he has been banned but I wish there was some sort of RR refund system, with those extra RR that I lost I would be eternity.
I love playing strategists but never have the protection I need and usually I’m the solo healer. Anytime I’ve played with 2 or more the team succeed. Thanks for the video - still learning and still playing AI half of the time. Until i get better i can’t do better
Best protection is positioning 2nd best protection is killing them before they reach/see you 3rd best protection are stuns/movement abilities (ex: Mantis' sleep, Luna's freeze, Rocket's dash) 4th best protection is pings and using your mic to tell your allies about divers
good aim almost always equals good mechanics in general like movement which is vital on magik. Not to mention her one shot combo needs aim from the projectile and to an extent the dash
Great video, I was one of those weirdos that wanted to watch the gameplay while I listened to the vid, and tip for magik: always weave in melee attacks between your swings, it’ll help killing a lot, and it finishes a lot of combos! For example at 12:01 if you’d just done a quick melee to finish it instead of normal swing it’s be quicker and he would have had no chance. Obviously he died here, but in many cases that half a second before your swing people either get healed or escape.
No lie I was hard stuck silver 1 for the last 2 days. I started incorporating your tip about recognizing when to push and when to pull back and I am now gold 2 after 5 games 🤯 thank you!
It’s good to hear that others are having problem in plat too, i was one game away from diamond. Got forced to flex strategist -> asked in the seccond round for someone to switch cause i was doing the most damage on strategist -> got zero answers -> proceeded to lose the game while out dpssing dpses, out tanking tanks and with the most healing too. Like how r there ppl that are so bad with the biggest ego
Me and my 2 buddies have been on the climb, almost diamond 3 right now. What helps is that we can all flex into any role with at least one or two characters. I feel like being flexible really helps the climb process.
@@thej3683 you should have proficiency in at least 1-2 characters in each role, but if you're flexing: tank is the most important to learn. I'm also a support main but have a shit ton of time on Strange, because often, especially in Plat-Diamond+, there's a bunch of support and dps players, but often a lack of tank players (because imo it's the hardest role to get good at and not just feed). Strange is the easiest tank to learn & get value out of, if you learn Strange and say Magneto then you'll always be able to flex tank when support is taken (which is many games Plat+ in my experience).
If you have good mechanics I recommend just sticking to flexing dps. I've managed to shoot through the ranks to diamond 2 in solo queue instalocking dps. It's the fact that I had the versatility to switch to the best one for the situation that it'd be ok though because I'd always provide value. Ofc the few times I was going negative I'd switch to tank tho if you're not getting value switch off dps but if you are, stick to it and you'll climb eventually.
You have no idea how much this video helped, I was honestly going insane today as I went from Gold 3 to Silver 2 after losing loads of matches in a row even though I was mvp in each one, I watched this video and you gave pretty useful advice, but most importantly you suggested just leaving after you lose, and wow it has worked wonders. Came back after a few hours and popped off, won like 6 matches in a row and now I'm Gold 2. Gotta give a sub and like after that
I was trying to climb out of bronze filling tank/support and was losing my mind. spammed namor then just babysat the support/s from flankers and darted straight to silver after just a few games being mvp half the time. Love those lil octopus friends
i love this video so freaking much, i’m trying to help my bf get better at the game and i’ve been a top ranker in Overwatch, Apex, etc. so I’m aware of what I’m doing right but I don’t know how to explain or i just forget to mention stuff, yet you do such an amazing job at putting it into words. THANK YOU
Here are some tips that I have come up with that help me climb: Queuing with friends of similar skill - I usually queue with my friend, brother, or both. They both like to play dps/tank, which leaves me free to play flex. I PERSONALLY main Spiderman, but I find myself queuing as Mantis, Strange, Venom, or Luna a lot in ranked because I practiced those characters and I know how to flex all roles. That leads me to my second tip: Learning all roles. Like I said before, I am a Spiderman main. I love the playstyle, I put in a ton of hours just labbing combos and movement, and I understand the mentality that Spiderman players must have to play. But because I learned all roles, I can fill in for my team when they need a role fulfilled. Being a team player > being a selfish player. Tip 3: map and playstyle awareness. Learning the maps is a very good thing to learn. As a Spiderman main, learning the maps helped me find web swing locations to make it onto site in less than 3 seconds. Learning some breakable walls is good, and learning where the health packs are (if you’re playing dps mainly) is super important. Also being able to play around your teammates is crucial. If your brainless tank player, for example, loves to push by themselves every time, call your team to push with them. Maybe use them as bait to flank and get some kills if you have solid movement, or come up with some plan to get value out of their stupid plays. Also, learning when to engage and disengage with the enemy is very important when climbing from low ranks.
When you said you lost 6 in a row due to bad teammates and people throwing, made me feel so much better. Its just knowing its not just me. Also the losers que has to be real. One day I won 10 straight and climbed all the way through gold. Very next day, 8 straight loses. I was like, no way this is just me. Great video my dude.
I'd absolutely tune in for a series climbing each hero to GM. Especially if commentary was given talking out why certain moves, positions, engages, strategies were implemented. I'm all in on that. Sign me up.
As an Adam Warlock, I agree with all of this ten fold. When I get bad tanks and dps, I feel it so much. Bad tank? No space and I get dived to all hell. Bad DPS? Nobody dies and it’s a slow and painful loss in every team fight. I’m trying to get back up to GM this season and I’m just trying to get good teammates to start climbing.
i hit gm a couple days ago and i was hardstuck at diamond 3 for a solid couple days. id winstreak up to d2 then get crushed on a massive lose streak back down to plat 1. did this like 4-5 times lol. i finally broke through though when i started playing starlord. i think him being so self sufficient and not needing your teammates to help you on him really helped me carry through.
to get to gm, if you're a dps player, good aim is literally all you need. i've never played a hero shooter before (aside from like 10 hours on overwatch 6 years ago,) so my gamesense is quite shit to be honest. but i hit gm3 with 45 wins 11 losses just purely playing hela and starlord because of my aim. i actually made an alt account when i hit diamond 3 to learn starlord because hela was perma banned. i got that starlord only account to plat 2 with 25 wins 2 losses, then went back to my main and climbed from d3 to gm3, going 12 wins 1 loss as starlord. if you are a dps player and want to climb, aim is all you need. the practice range is actually really good in this game, and I strongly recommend using it to either practice and train your aim or for warming up. this also really helps for support players if you play luna/mantis/adam
As a Jeff main in diamond I would add that his damage is also a beast in low elo. you 4-5 direct shot any squishy at 250 hp, the splash area is humongous so its extremely easy to hit even if you don't have good aim, and nobody in bronze-silver dodges his ult so its always instant value as long as you know where the map pits are.
Swear to God, plat is the worst ranked ever once I get through and I’m never going back. I wanna snap my controller in half some days lmao and the losing cue that one was clutch did not that existed. Great video
I think aim doesn’t matter a ton depending on who you main, for example melee characters are amazing and they require no aim but I understand what you mean
@ I know, your point is completely valid, but I don’t think anyone gets to your level with my level of aim. I am a support solo Q main at Silver 2, and played a game where we got ROLLED because the other team’s Mantis went 52-3. End game accuracy was 54%. I talked to him afterwards and he was a top 500 OW player trying Marvel Rivals out. I focus on heroes that can have impact with average aim like Rocket, Dagger and sometimes Luna. Dr Strange if I have to and Aquaman dude for DPS.
@@Syrin23 Main Rocket if you can't aim, honestly. I'm disabled with hands that barely work, just hit plat with Rocket fairly easily. Just make sure you stay alive, spam heals, shoot only when necessary, and setup good relays
@@Syrin23Cloak and dagger don’t require aim but they require cd management and tracking For dps Scarlet, Starlord, Ironman are very forgiving with their aim and ofc all the melee characters Aim isn’t everything in this game team awareness and ability management are more important imo (Support Solo Q in Dia 1)
Losers queue is very real in this game. I decided to stubbornly queue up some comp on my day off, hoping to climb to plat because I climbed from bronze 3 to gold relatively quick, but I proceeded to somewhere around 8 or 9 out of 12 games. Hadn’t experienced anything like it, and it was just like you said. The teammate lottery. Going forward sticking with 2 losses back to back and you’re heading to quick play mentality
I finally hit Gold after being stuck in Bronze. Took a day. You’re right, there is some secret queue thing that will put you in with idiots one or two matches that won’t even look at an Ironman cooking them.
The things that help me get to gold I feel were, learning to fill, so find at least one character in every role you know how to play so you can fill, don’t be a dick to your teammates, so if they aren’t doing good, don’t trash talk and instead suggest a different character or role. And definitely teammate lottery and don’t lose que lol
Took me 67 matches to get from Bronze to GM3, no beta time. To reinforce some of your points, a few of the biggest things to do to rank up is to not die (vast majority of deaths are due to yourself, not the enemy or your teammates), and you should learn a character as your main. I’m a Venom one trick, 12.1h of Venom, 11m as Peni, nothing else played in ranked. I know my character inside and out, which fights I can take, where to position on every map, who counters me and who I counter, lastly my role as Venom. I have played a number of matches in quick play as other tanks, but the focus all this time was on one character. My total time played is 14.7h Venom and 4h total for other characters.
Venom has high survivability. You play a character with high survivability, then preach about how most deaths are your fault. For dps and some tanks I will agree, however, for healers they often get solo ulted. If you die on tank you either overextended or your healers died. If you died as a dps it is mostly your fault or the fault of a tank pocketing healer. If you die as healer, you either got dove without peel or got targeted by an ult.
@Voodoo_Occasions as a Loki one trick, i do definitely get solo ulted and have other unavoidable deaths, a lot of my deaths are because of poor positioning and other avoidable mistakes
@thej3683 With loki your invis and your swap is pretty good. It just seems like supports like Adam Warlock just falls over if he gets focused. Luna and Mantis have a stun, however, if it is on cooldown or they miss, they are dead.
@@Voodoo_Occasions It's truer than you think given the context. OP plays tank. Dying on a 800-1000 HP tank is even more of an obvious mistake than dying as other characters. For everyone else with 300 HP or less, just check the replay if it's possible to have avoided that death, even a solo ult, with a better positioning or if there's a way to have scouted the flanker.
@malcovich_games Your first part was basically what I was saying, especially since venom is also very mobile and can escape fights for free. Some ults are positional. However, this game has so many ultimates that you can aim anywhere, no matter your location. If Jeff wants you dead, he will swallow you. Storm is basically the same, if you don't have a Mantis or a Luna ult. With winter soldier you can't predict the first slam very well, but you can find a way to escape. Spiderman kills you if he is close, which is easy thanks to his mobility. Magneto will hit you if they have good aim, or there isn't somewhere to hide. That is the same thing with Hella. Hawkeye can kill you regardless of your positioning if he ults with line of sight to you. Black Panther's ult doesn't do much damage, but his attacks make him hard to track. Iron Man will hit you if he ults close to you.
things that make you climb easier.1 play dps. just straight gets you more rp cuz kills matter in rp gain. 2 solo queue. like genuinely partying makes the lobbies significantly harder
True suffering is being a dedicated tank main, mostly Peni, Thor, and Magneto, and being stuck in Diamond III or Plat I and being with DPS who go negative and scream when asked to try something else
Thor otp here. I started ranked probably around level 20 and got to Grandmaster in 94 games played. I agree with most everything in this video, but my two cents is this: Bronze - mechanics. Learn to move and aim and you can win by playing team death match. You don't even need to know what each hero does or even the map layout. You can literally just kill everyone and win. In fact, it doesn't matter if you have gm level game knowledge, if you have feet for hands you're not gonna win. You will never stop your team from staggering and you will never rally the troops. Just kill the enemy. Silver - still mechanics, but you will begin to have to learn to position properly since, as stated before, mechanics can carry you out of bronze. Some silver players actually have diamond tier mechanical skill. They can hit all the right buttons and aim well. You will have to begin positioning properly to not just get one shot by the enemy hawkela. Gold - this is where you will need to start using your brain. Knowing who to fight, and when to fight. When and how to push. What does your role do? Plat - this is really just gold+. Everything in gold but to a higher degree. You really should know what every hero does, the layout of every map by heart. You will be punished by some players who just know their heroes like the back of their hands. This is the first rank where you can't just dive enemy healers, frag out, and win. Diamond - it's time to start learning comps, synergies, and team ups. Some players at this rank are mechanical gods, and some players just know their hero inside and out. You have to track ults and you have to communicate. Diamond is really the first rank people are "good" at the game. I find the biggest reason teams lose in diamond is staggering, funnily enough, but usually reminding your team is enough to prevent this. Above all else, a strong mental is the most important thing you need to win games. Getting tilted and flaming your team has never helped. Asking people politely if they would swap works like 30% of the time. Edit: there is no such thing as Elo hell. If you've been stuck in a rank for 20 games then that's the rank you're meant to be. Sometimes it feels like you're better than you really are, because you might have some high level game sense or game knowledge, but your silver mechanics, awareness, and positioning are holding you back. Or you frag out like crazy and think 20k damage and 40 kills means you should be ranking up, but if you're wasting your ult to team wipe outside the enemy spawn then those 6 kills mean absolutely nothing
I felt so vindicated when he said loser's queue 100% real. I remember climbing up to gold 1 just before hitting plat and getting off because I was tired and decided I would continue the next day. When the next day came, I kid you not, I lost every single game for the dumbest reasons and almost de-ranked completely to silver 1 if it wasnt for rank protection. Throwers, AFK-ers, Helen Keller, you name it, they were in my team. Rage quitting was the smartest decision I made that day. Another day goes by and I decide to queue up again with that horrible experience still in mind. This time it was the complete opposite. Pure W's from that point on until i reached plat 2 and called it a day. LOSER'S QUEUE IS REAL, FOLKS!
"Everyone in plat thinks they are better then they are".... Damn the call out XD Thats how i went from high plat 2 to negative plat 3. So scared to go back.but practicing quick match as much as possible before heading back in as a new steange main instead of peni.
Omg, thank you for telling people to peel for the supports. The amount of time I spend as Cloak and Dagger peeling and escaping for myself is nuts. Like most tanks and DPS are oblivious when healers get jumped. Then they spam I NEED HEALS, like good for you, I'm dead because all you care about is chasing kills.
Losers queue definitely exists on this game. I’ve already solo’d to diamond (tryna solo queue to Gm) and there have been so many games where after I lose 1 or 2 close games, I get put into an unwinnable game (toxic teammates, no openings to get kills, no coordination). The day before I ranked up, I had a couple of these games so I just got off and got better games the next morning. These losers queue had me thinking I was garbage 😭. I’m usually a dps main but that final rankup game I was forced to flex support . For the first time, I had that rank up game handed to me because I wasn’t in losers queue
I'm so glad you said that about the losers queue 😭 the same thing happened to me twice. I was getting my so frustrated. First time I was diamond 2 d ranked to Plat 1 after a 8 game lose streak. This time I got back to diamond 2, I lost four games! I was really trying to figure out if I'm really just that bad or really just that unlucky. Like how do I go immediately from Ranking up consistently to having such a huge losing streak? Now I know. If I lose two in a row I'm getting off from here on out.
I find the biggest problem with gold is communication. Nobody talks or pings like you said, so although yes we check on our healers we can’t push when somebody flanks unseen and fights the healers then the healers die cause they refuse to talk or ping but we’re fighting everybody at the front also
i hit grandmaster in less than a week too. i agree with everything you said and i believe with utmost certainty that diamond players in other games will get a 70% winrate just instalocking mantis. her kit is just way too good and has too much carry potential.
Telling people to stop playing after hitting a losing streak with unusually bad teams is false information. The probability of losing several games in a row with extremely underperforming teams is higher than one might estimate. Due to loss aversion and selective perception biases, it may feel like there is a "loser's queue", but in reality, it's just unavoidable and just a matter of time - especially if you play hundreds of games. The only valid reasons to stop playing are either tilt or fatigue. Besides that, great content. 👌
I mean, usually most people will get tilted after a series of losses, which has the same effect as a loser queue for the outcome, hence why people see it that way. When you get stomped out hard, or lose three in a row, it’s best to take a short break if not call ranked for the night and do something else rather than continue playing.
I don't mind telling people to take a break after losing since you might just be too tilted to perform, but yeah, insinuating losersq is a real thing is incredibly cringe. And if someone genuinely thinks it exists, they have no reason to play the game as you also have to believe the whole game is rigged against you.
You need to pay attention to their possible Ultimates. Yesterday was in a close Asgard Domination game. We where winning the third round like 98% to 95%. Our whole group ended up camped on the point defending it about to win in a matter of seconds. Skill wise we actually where the better team, but they had a Jeff. 4 of us ended up off the map, and We lost.
Got to plat with Thor in a day, once u get to top of gold follow these rules, wait for your team (don’t trickle), know the roll your character fills (Thor is great for peeling tanks off your healers, he generates a lot of value being able to grab mfs into ur back line but also very divey). Blame yourself for things that are your fault. If you wiff 4 shots in a 1v1 the question is not “Where are my healers/team?!?” It’s “damn I should go lab more”.
Dude I SWEAR Losers AND Winners queue is real. I was shredding through Bronze, Silver, and Gold for like 3 days in a row then my duo buddy and i stopped at Gold 1 50SR. Next day it felt like no matter how well i did, i just got throwers, inters, dcing teamates who gave up after the first half, and went on a 5 loss streak dropping me to G2 and i was baffled because the NEXT DAY we go on a 6 win streak with teamates i swear i felt like i had to lock in to keep up with and enemies that all of a sudden wouldnt guard their supports whatsoever. If it wasnt for the back to back streaks i wouldnt believe it
Also sidenote: SUPER emphasis on Tanks not knowing what space is and how to take it. I don't blame em they're probably new to the genre but it really sucks and I can't explain that mid match unfortunately so if you don't know just look it up on youtube.
I'm from a moba background (League and OW 1&2), not much fps experience and I don't consider myself an aimer; got D3 in Rivals as a Magik OTP, but now there's some games I end up feeding cause of counterpicks. I really do think it's just a skill issue on my part and a better Magik could make it work, but even if I was to swap idk what else to play
No guys, dont peal on tank most of the times, only if you are peni, because if you are not looking at the enemy team while doing space they are gonna walk on you, when a dive tank dives your backline what he wants is your attention, what you gotta do is stand tall, and play passive, not looking for any play but also not letting the enemy team get a good engage, ur job is making space for your teammates to have it easy, not doing your job and others job at the same time
You mentioned improving aim, and it made me wanna ask something. So, I have a nerve disorder in my hands that causes them to shake constantly and twitch unpredictably sometimes. Got any advice for how I could improve my aim given that disability? P.S. Not sure if this is helpful at all, but I am an Adam Warlock main.
I only somewhat agree with the comment on learning how to "flex" because it might work for you but the majority of people only learn (or want to play) DPS anyways which is why in pubs you sometimes get games without any healers if you just pick what you want to play lol. Some people hate playing healer and then you're forced into it in some cases. It doesn't help that there are more characters in the DPS role than any of the other roles too.
Did the complete opposite with the tilt queuing lmao. I lost 4 in a row, won one, then lost. Said fuck it. Proceeded to win 7 in a row to hit GM3. It was spectacular. Got right the fuck off the game immediately LOL
Right on the d pad on PS5. Wish I had someone to keep Iron Fist off me. As a Adam Warlock main I can't get out of silver because everyone seems to abandon the objective after I get to silver and get pushed back to bronze.
I've managed to get to diamond 2 with just playing only rocket so far, the loser queue is truly real. I play consistently and output as much healing as I can with oppression with my mobility such as taking out iron man, with good aim you can make his life extremely difficult including any annoying assassins like spiderman and iron fist constantly chasing you and eventually they give up but at the cost of my team being able to push with our support getting free heals for my team, and there are most games that is absolutely out of my control especially with how toxic the players are in platinum and diamond 3, dps and tanks sometimes play really terrible and then blame their healers all the time, I dont see a problem with rocket because when I'm with a team that is truly trying to win its always a comeback in supposed losing game, dont bully good rocket players!
I guess I’m just him . Climbed from bronze to grandmaster in 2 days lol . This game literally has the same mindset Overwatch has and it just makes climbing slighttt . Great video tho man .
For me I breezed through bronze, silver, and gold once I got to plat I constantly had days were I was on losing streaks and deranked all the way to gold 2 just by tilt queuing because I like to end on a win. Now I haven't really experienced losing streaks and currently I and the furthest I have been at Plat 1. I feel like I will need to learn Captain American because a good wolverine will always crush my main Groot
Damn I have the same experience with losers que. I went on an 8 game win streak to hit diamond 2 then lost 7 or 8 in a row and went back to plat 1. The next day I got on and hit diamond again in 2 games with great teammates!
Saying that you weren't that good until plat will probably make me never queue ranked again. There was only one time when I was on the "winning queue" and skipped three subdivisions in one sitting, but the rest of the games were infinitely worse than any quickplay
A playlist with fundamentals for the game would be huge because for me i personaly dont understand the game and it reminds me as when i started valorant and I know that if when i started playing valorant i would have watched more video to explain me the game and the in depth mechanical and strategical skills it would have saved me a tone of hours .Right now i dont understand the game and it looks like a braindead game to me so i dont really know how to improve
idk if this is on lower ranks but marvel rivals is way more encouraging for individual contributions. if you solo carry and win - you get a ton of progress. if you made a lot but still lost - you gonna lose not that much. I was able to climb near to diamond in a few days without spending in a game that much time
I really wish we had separate rank per character and had to lock in before playing. I know it would fundamentally change things, but I would just prefer to climb with each without having to smurf
You're right, I switched from tank and dps to support and won almost every game because healers are probably the worst players in plat, they got there because having 2 healers every game with luck can even take you to plat
100% on the platinum thing. genuinely the hardest thing ever, i didnt even lose a single match UNTIL plat. And now i cant win a single match in plat i got 12 rr left in plat 3 and im scared to que
im praying in church every day for more dps that dont ask for heals 24/7 and turn around once in while to see that me and my jeff are geeting pilled by 2 tanks and dps
I think groot is probably the best tanks, paired with jeff who knows what he's doing it becomes really easy just to control the team the way you want although he works better on certain maps than others. (He also does pretty decent damage I've gotten 10 streaks back to back just using him so)
Can't tell you how many times I've asked my tanks to turn around as a cloak and dagger main. I actually yelled at my punisher to turn around a shoot at the starlord in our back line but I never do that so I felt really bad. He did try though.
Yes I got to plat 1 on main and went and made an alt because I wasn’t comfortable flexing off support. I learned tank and it’s been insane how easy it is to climb when you can play more than one role and more than at least two characters in the role. I default namor since I’m not the best dps . Made it to gold 1 in like 6 hours
@@Coach_Shotty Yea on pc, the game detects my mic and not even both open mic or push to talk work. Apparently many people face this issue and no one's pushing it. I can't give in game callouts when i see spooderman coming in
Tip of the day..if u are gold+ and u give ur best but still lose try to ask the good enemy player/ur own mate if u can queue up with him, he mostly will want to queue with u cuz it's a bonus to know u have at least one person to keep ur back..Anyway try to queue with some people if u are stuck, at least for a bit..Also when u get to diamond BAN HAWKEYE AND HELA for the love of everything ban them also try to ban Luna and Mantis these 4 can change a game drastically.. For my rank i just hit Diamond 2 going for Grandmaster i can say that it's a bit silly that even tho i was in Diamond (3 at that time) many of my games where not rly for Diamond bc we had no ban faze..U will think "hey that's good, this means u play vs lower elo"..NO if ur in that short of a match it's hell cuz 100% enemy's have Hawkeye or Hela or both and it's not fun bc they rly know how to play them (On console i think it's more ok tho)..I started the rank grind playing Dps (bronze-gold) then got on Support (gold-low plat) and now im on Tanks (high plat-diamond 2)..Tanks are very important in this game cuz they engage the push so u should choose them based on the Defend-Attack-Capture the point.

I agree with the healer thing. If you aren't killing their healer, you need to be protecting your own healers
Dude… idk why but the second healer always ALWAYS forgets about the other support when I play healer my secondary object is to try and keep my support healer alive.. when they need heals I heal them
If they're just being healers, sure, they need protection. If they're playing SUPPORT and actually paying attention, they can protect themselves a lot of the time, and that is a mandatory skill for climbing to higher ranks

one small hint that helps a lot both for yourself and the team is telling people when they do good stuff. earlier i had a game where our Jeff constantly had uptime on healing and spamming bubbles all over the place, so i told him "dude you are doing really well with the heals" and i just instantly felt the team went for his orbs way more often, people kept surviving more because they sought him out and kept him safer.

Halfway through Plat 1 to Diamond. Honestly can't wait to never see Hela or Hawkeye again.

I just want to say the immense irony of discussing aiming and aimskill over footage of a melee hero who almost never needs to aim is great
You have never played magik, have you?
Magick requires accuracy, just because you dash in close in range doesn’t mean it will always hit, same for her swing
Magik actually requires aim. Is this rage bait or. Both her dash and right click which is most of her dps is aim
magik is hard because of the basic dive gameplay and having to change your playstyle with 1 tank or 2 tanks and also the combos aren't the hardest just shift, left click + E, left click, melee, right click but having to know when to waste all your cooldowns and when not to make her hard for shitters
don't know why people are mad obviously magik does not need to aim in the traditional sense
I had this in all competitive games i played. It's just fatigue and tilt, when you stop noticing your mistakes.
I keep losing in silver.
Holy essay
I love playing strategists but never have the protection I need and usually I’m the solo healer. Anytime I’ve played with 2 or more the team succeed. Thanks for the video - still learning and still playing AI half of the time. Until i get better i can’t do better
Best protection is positioning
2nd best protection is killing them before they reach/see you
3rd best protection are stuns/movement abilities (ex: Mantis' sleep, Luna's freeze, Rocket's dash)
4th best protection is pings and using your mic to tell your allies about divers
or bring them to ur dps or tank vision also an option
utilize jump boost in some maps and never waste ur escape utility

LMAO magik make brain go brrr
good aim almost always equals good mechanics in general like movement which is vital on magik. Not to mention her one shot combo needs aim from the projectile and to an extent the dash
biggest tip: have years of experience with this genre already
I main support what other role do you think would be most important to learn
Probably tank @@thej3683
@@thej3683 you should have proficiency in at least 1-2 characters in each role, but if you're flexing: tank is the most important to learn. I'm also a support main but have a shit ton of time on Strange, because often, especially in Plat-Diamond+, there's a bunch of support and dps players, but often a lack of tank players (because imo it's the hardest role to get good at and not just feed). Strange is the easiest tank to learn & get value out of, if you learn Strange and say Magneto then you'll always be able to flex tank when support is taken (which is many games Plat+ in my experience).
@ I’d say tank, creating space as a tank is very impactful
Gotta give a sub and like after that

if you have aim and have another healer yes cause she's slow heals and acts more like a flanker so depends on skill
@@Calm1080 But ofc people will complain. As people would be "Just sit back and be a heal bot" Or "I see you doing dps but you should just heal"
Excited I got a great new content creator you seem cool and knowledgeable can’t wait to see you grow
Here are some tips that I have come up with that help me climb:
Queuing with friends of similar skill - I usually queue with my friend, brother, or both.
Sign me up.
merry christmas shotty thank you goat🫶
Merry Christmas brother
As an Adam Warlock, I agree with all of this ten fold. When I get bad tanks and dps, I feel it so much. Bad tank? No space and I get dived to all hell. Bad DPS? Nobody dies and it’s a slow and painful loss in every team fight. I’m trying to get back up to GM this season and I’m just trying to get good teammates to start climbing.
Merry christmasss W YAP SESSION
i hit gm a couple days ago and i was hardstuck at diamond 3 for a solid couple days. id winstreak up to d2 then get crushed on a massive lose streak back down to plat 1. did this like 4-5 times lol. i finally broke through though when i started playing starlord. i think him being so self sufficient and not needing your teammates to help you on him really helped me carry through.
to get to gm, if you're a dps player, good aim is literally all you need. i've never played a hero shooter before (aside from like 10 hours on overwatch 6 years ago,) so my gamesense is quite shit to be honest. but i hit gm3 with 45 wins 11 losses just purely playing hela and starlord because of my aim.
i actually made an alt account when i hit diamond 3 to learn starlord because hela was perma banned. i got that starlord only account to plat 2 with 25 wins 2 losses, then went back to my main and climbed from d3 to gm3, going 12 wins 1 loss as starlord. if you are a dps player and want to climb, aim is all you need. the practice range is actually really good in this game, and I strongly recommend using it to either practice and train your aim or for warming up. this also really helps for support players if you play luna/mantis/adam
Im so glad you mentioned the tanks with the healers
Your video was so crack up, so relatable. I found it hard getting out of gold, now I'm Plat 1 😂
Great video
For that Adam warlock tip, honestly Cloak and Dagger and Mantis function in that category too.
Here's what I learned. You must have skill and elite aim. Nothing else matters.

Going forward sticking with 2 losses back to back and you’re heading to quick play mentality
btw you can always go to match history if you need to get the match recordings
I finally hit Gold after being stuck in Bronze. Took a day. You’re right, there is some secret queue thing that will put you in with idiots one or two matches that won’t even look at an Ironman cooking them.
The things that help me get to gold I feel were, learning to fill, so find at least one character in every role you know how to play so you can fill, don’t be a dick to your teammates, so if they aren’t doing good, don’t trash talk and instead suggest a different character or role. And definitely teammate lottery and don’t lose que lol
Must be one of the best marvel rivals videos I’ve seen
I just subbed for your take on peeling. This guy gets it.
Yeah that’s the big kicker 16 years of fps experience that I can’t replicate 😂
things that make you climb easier.1 play dps. just straight gets you more rp cuz kills matter in rp gain. 2 solo queue. like genuinely partying makes the lobbies significantly harder
Liked and subbed great content brother!
Currently I’m in my plat 3 and I agree with everything you’re saying
Same but I am not planing to stay here I feel like I tilt qued a lot so I will take it easy
I’m so glad the DPS in plat issue was brought up
16:33 you do know every game you play is stored in replays, right? and the replay system in rivals is so good and polished
I only just found out about that, I need to start using that it’s awesome
True suffering is being a dedicated tank main, mostly Peni, Thor, and Magneto, and being stuck in Diamond III or Plat I and being with DPS who go negative and scream when asked to try something else
Thor otp here. I started ranked probably around level 20 and got to Grandmaster in 94 games played. I agree with most everything in this video, but my two cents is this:
Bronze - mechanics.
0:35 literally the only thing i do on this app i just put something and listen
Damn the call out XD
Thats how i went from high plat 2 to negative plat 3.
If you wanna solo carry as support, Mantis is the best option.
Most gamblers stop playing right before they win kinda advice.
I mean, usually most people will get tilted after a series of losses, which has the same effect as a loser queue for the outcome, hence why people see it that way. When you get stomped out hard, or lose three in a row, it’s best to take a short break if not call ranked for the night and do something else rather than continue playing.
I just play a best of 5, if I win the series I continue if I lose I take a break rinse repeat
I don't blame em they're probably new to the genre but it really sucks and I can't explain that mid match unfortunately so if you don't know just look it up on youtube.
honestly the concept of waiting instead of going in 1v6 is so obvious and simple yet none of these low elo players get it. insane to me.
I'm from a moba background (League and OW 1&2), not much fps experience and I don't consider myself an aimer; got D3 in Rivals as a Magik OTP, but now there's some games I end up feeding cause of counterpicks. I really do think it's just a skill issue on my part and a better Magik could make it work, but even if I was to swap idk what else to play
with a duo its def possible, but great majority of us solo queue(er) the struggle is real even when carrying
No guys, dont peal on tank most of the times, only if you are peni, because if you are not looking at the enemy team while doing space they are gonna walk on you, when a dive tank dives your backline what he wants is your attention, what you gotta do is stand tall, and play passive, not looking for any play but also not letting the enemy team get a good engage, ur job is making space for your teammates to have it easy, not doing your job and others job at the same time
Having a consistent 60+ fps is probably one of the biggest factors
You mentioned improving aim, and it made me wanna ask something. So, I have a nerve disorder in my hands that causes them to shake constantly and twitch unpredictably sometimes. Got any advice for how I could improve my aim given that disability? P.S. Not sure if this is helpful at all, but I am an Adam Warlock main.
Message me on my main discord account: Itsshotty I can send you a few things that may help
@@Coach_Shotty Thank you, just sent the message request
Maybe exercises that soothes your nervous system before getting in matches could lower that
I only somewhat agree with the comment on learning how to "flex" because it might work for you but the majority of people only learn (or want to play) DPS anyways which is why in pubs you sometimes get games without any healers if you just pick what you want to play lol. Some people hate playing healer and then you're forced into it in some cases. It doesn't help that there are more characters in the DPS role than any of the other roles too.
Merry Christmas brother
Respect for playing Magik, i think that character is low-mid.
I guess I’m just him . Climbed from bronze to grandmaster in 2 days lol . This game literally has the same mindset Overwatch has and it just makes climbing slighttt . Great video tho man .
ur not him gm is very low elo
@ I’m now eternal . I’m still trash .
Bro I main healer and when he saif "tanks arent peeling or turning around enough" I got up and clapped causemy man was preaching gospel in this moment
Damn I have the same experience with losers que. I went on an 8 game win streak to hit diamond 2 then lost 7 or 8 in a row and went back to plat 1. The next day I got on and hit diamond again in 2 games with great teammates!
After getting out of plat, it just started to go up from there 🚀
Saying that you weren't that good until plat will probably make me never queue ranked again.
After the holidays I’ll make sure to release much better guides on the game and hopefully it will help!
idk if this is on lower ranks but marvel rivals is way more encouraging for individual contributions. if you solo carry and win - you get a ton of progress. if you made a lot but still lost - you gonna lose not that much.
(He also does pretty decent damage I've gotten 10 streaks back to back just using him so)
2:30 the left button on the trackpad is the x ray thing
Can't tell you how many times I've asked my tanks to turn around as a cloak and dagger main. I actually yelled at my punisher to turn around a shoot at the starlord in our back line but I never do that so I felt really bad. He did try though.
That chess reference was difficult to listen to, you cant lose your king 😅
Lmao I said it realized what I said and said fuck it we roll with it lol
Yes I got to plat 1 on main and went and made an alt because I wasn’t comfortable flexing off support. I learned tank and it’s been insane how easy it is to climb when you can play more than one role and more than at least two characters in the role. I default namor since I’m not the best dps . Made it to gold 1 in like 6 hours
As a support player, it's so frustrating that my in game voice chat legitimately just doesn't function
Mine doesn't work as well. And I don't know why
@Sanazuki yup, I've tried absolutely everything I could find and or think of :////
Are you guys on pc?
@@Coach_Shotty I am, yeah. It's a major issue that isn't talked about a lot for some reason
