I grew up in Plymouth in the mid 90s when it was a great place. Went back in 2022 and this was the sort of crap we witnessed in the city centre. I have alot of nostalgia for Plymouth, but its gone massively downhill.
I'm in my thirties, and I grew up elsewhere, most of my friends down here are older than me, 40s to 60s. They say the city centre had serious problems with all the marines fighting at night. Heck my grandad (who isn't a nice person, and I avoid.) Had a name for himself, he apparently took on 8 men with a rounders bat. 😐 He never told me this himself, but it was witnessed by many.
If he was armed, they would have shot him, if not, they would have -tased- tazed him. They'd also have other non lethals to work with as a pain deterrent, pepper spray and 40mms. The main issue of course, is if the perpetrator in question was carrying a firearm, which is often the case in the USA.

I suggest that the UK Constabularies outlaw the taser as it is potentially dangerous and harmful to suspected criminals. I suggest introducing the 9mm Glock pistol with a 14 shot clip containing armour piercing rounds, instead. Fights grime more effectively.

I am also of the view police officers who routinely carry a Taser should be subject to six-monthly assessments to check they are fit to use a Taser, as firearms officers are.
