great product but personally worry about especially in the UK where tasers can and a lot of of the time will be used in close range where 1 trigger pull is all you'll get which is why having to fire 1 at a time can be worrisome
Taser isn’t meant to be used at such a close distance. If you’re that close, you need to disengage and get a safe distance or get subject control. I get your point though.
Taser 7 is $1700. Taser 10 is that +8 shots and a higher IP rating plus it can be deployed at twice the distance. I can hear $3000 but want to see sub $2500.
If anything, why not, if possible, have the Taser 10 programmed, or maybe a switch similar to a safety switch, to shoot 2 probes, then 1 on the next trigger press, then 2 on the 3rd trigger press, then 1 on the 4th, and 2 on the 5th. Or maybe a mode where it only shoots the probes in pairs?
The problem with that is that the taser cartridge is set to shoot completely straight. The taser would have to be redesigned with the taser cartridges at an angle for it to spread and have an effective connection.
I need to see the real world applications. One probe at a time is worrisome. I thought it would’ve made more send to fire 2 probes the first trigger pull and then deploying one probe at a time if a connection wasn’t made with the first two.
Maybe make a feature so that you can select what firing mode you would like in the cid. Two probe mode or single probe mode would be better than just being restricted to only one probe, but it might make the device more complicated than it already is.
I think they are trying to combat one of the main issues with tasers which is probe placements and probe misses. A lot of folks tend to miss the placement of the lower probe. This would mitigate that a bit but I also agree that it adds another step to the process.
I don't understand why they don't just make a less then lethal rifle that can just go full auto and go through hoodies and thick jackets, there would be almost no reason to use a gun at that point.
Okay.. But now you have to land two shots. how about the chance of them pulling out the initial one before any NMI happens with the second one having to land. I feel like there is a higher chance of failure to contain the problem, because there is now a time frame at which people can react. 😂 because tasers in general are 50% reliable on their best day in a real world situation. These taser 10s are horribly unreliable compared to the 7 and 26p even with multiple probes on target with good spread.
Only fires one probe at a time so now the operatorcan control the spread of the probes. Have to keep that minimum distance between the probes to be completely effective. The biggest problem I have had with prior models was the fact one of the probes would miss. If both probes are not in contact with the suspect then the taser will not work. I did like the X3 (that carried 3 cartridges) and the 7 (that carries 2) with multiple cartridges but I think this new 10 will be much more effective. I am curious how these probes will penetrate thick jackets. And what is the cost to replace a cartridge that contains 10 probes? $40 $100?
The cartridges are $22 a pop, so a full mag of 10 shots is $220. Then you have the actual magazine housing, which by itself is $160, so you are paying a total of $400+ with taxes.
Very awesome! As a State of Arizona Ranger I love my X2. I was very privileged to be part of the testing. I hope someday I can carry the Taser 10. Would be an awesome opportunity to educate others out on the field while in service. Thank you
Assuming you're telling the truth and not claiming to be a Leo for nothing, and since you claim to have been part of the testing of it. 1. Doesn't that require 2 shots then? And if so, how is that not more stressful and more difficult than firing once that shoots two probes? (I'm not talking about the amount it carries, 10, that's an obvious upside/upgrade)
This looks cool but.....one probe fired at a time? That sounds worse. It looks like the officer would have to aim both. I mean I guess it could be rapid fire but my understanding is to gain compliance or induce NMI, the probes that connect have to be something like at least 1 foot(12 inches) apart from each other. (I own a Taser Pulse+ I purchased myself, though if money wasn't a factor, or if I could choose one free taser of my choice, hands down it would be the Taser 7)
Two main issues: 1. This thing looks gigantic, significantly bigger than the 7 and that was never addressed. How much larger are we going to make all these less lethals until it affects the way we can move. Most agencies still don’t have load bearing vests or don’t allow officers to carry the taser on the vest. Why not make it magazine fed at this point and reduce the form factor? 2. It is already hard enough to get the probes on target in high stress situations or when running, this makes us have to get at-least two on target when in that high stress situation. Agencies are bound to make policies on how many rounds you can use on one subject. It should fire two at a time the same way the taser 7 fires while being able to ‘flick’ the taser to change the range. That way you have 5 firing chances to get a good connection; which is much better than firing round after round, wires and probes going everywhere trying to make a good connection. REMEMBER these will have to be very precise shots to give NMI, if you double tap two probes directly in the muscle group of the back, you are most likely not going to get full NMI. Bonus issue kind of tied into 2. Because you have to aim two shots with enough distance betwixt the two to achieve NMI, you lose the SURPRISE of the Taser. They now have a chance to rip the first probe out before NMI is achieved.
@@David-fp7yc I agree. It also doesn't look that much bigger than the Taser 7. Though, I obviously can't really see them in person for a good comparison

This video over and over is basically arguing this taser would/should be used in place of a firearm. If someone is a deadly threat, lethal force should be used. not a taser of any kind, even if it had 50 probes. should it technically be very efficient in less lethal scenarios? yeah. But why does it keep talking about lowering gun related deaths like police are using their service pistols on people who aren't posing a deadly threat.
It’s the woke society that needs to change, they think police are the issue. I’m certain the girl with the dreads in this video is not helping. Police will continue to be expected to risk their lives needlessly in an attempt to use less lethal force when lethal force may be necessary. I’m sure this will come in handy but there will always be a need for lethal force and it should never be downgraded when needed. I get this is a great supplementary tool but that’s all it is.
hopefully in 10-15 years (if not sooner, i'm being conservative here) we'll have the battery technology (more efficient, reliable, and compact) and propellent coupled with a reliable wireless signal to allow something like this to work Without the wires. But as it is now it's still very impressive and exciting.
They had the shotgun that shot out wireless probes that were huge. I’m not really sure what the issues were with it though that made them decide to discontinue it but I’ve said the same thing. I hate that these have thin delicate wires that can break if the person pulls on them or rolls around. It would be a game changer for the 10 to be wireless! Maybe soon like you said.
@@brightbkh07 Being that the shotgun xrep was made nearly 2 decades ago, it's possible that maybe in a decade or less we'll have a miniaturized version of it with more reliable and better micro batteries and chips to ensure they're more reliable and effective. But also able to fit a pistol or semi auto carbine or at the very least a revolver.
I think it's a good idea, but not just make it available to law but also ccw carriers it could reduce those trigger happy people or those that are in a life situation would drop also the reason of a civilian carrying a fire arm instead of using deadly force cause he fears for his life he can stop the threat as well in a moments needed.
It would be expensive to make a wireless probe that can stun someone. If anything, the ammunition would be more expensive than the weapon. Plus a wireless connection to a probe could potentially fail, which would consequently kill the perpetrator due to excessive electric damage, rather than the intended use of immobilising said perpetrator. It’s easier to have a wire connection to the probe, which can be shut off quickly by the user, avoiding a potential death.
The problem I have with this is how the training has gone in the last 20 years. Originally when the tazer was available there were very few areas that you were to avoid and even hitting them was better than shooting the person. Since then tazer has added larger avoid areas and the use of force level of tazer has been elevated much higher. They talk about how it could cause heart problems even though the initial research and marketing said the pulses were not able to effect the heart. I do not blame law enforcement or the courts for this but the inability to provide legal representation in these cases where they created bad case law. I can tell you that 99% of the screaming and agony that you hear on body cameras is usually A) after the taser was turned off and B) because the person hit was losing it that the police didn't allow them to just continue their rampage.
5k USD. Not too bad. A person's life is worth a lot more than that. Less people in hospital, less permanent injuries and deaths etc... the list goes on.
Gotta be very careful with your wording. It sounds like you're advocating using less lethal force in a deadly force situation. Deadly force isn't just used because "it's effective" it's used to stop A DEADLY THREAT. If some one pulls a gun on you and you pull a taser, no matter which one, you're doing something very wrong. Tasers are NOT 100% effective in all situations, even with 10 rounds. That said....... It's nice to see that this solves a serious issue with past tasers, Spread. It's MUCH better that you can put out multiple barbs in non deadly force situations in order to control your own spread, making it more likely to be effective at various ranges. Up close it's almost useless since you have to rely on drive stunning, which doesn't create NMI. Also have to think about stress factors when deploying since it's one barb at a time. It's not uncommon for officers to shoot way more rounds than they thought or hold the taser trigger for longer than they thought when in these situations. I think this is a great step forward but just be careful how you market this or how you say things.
Man! Tasers are becoming like PlayStations? They keep getting better and better, but pricier and pricier! With the better technology also comes more training which is pretty great! 👍
First off this sounds like you all are trying to eliminate the need for deadly force. Which a less than lethal option will never be able to do. Although Taser does fit a certain type of scenario you should never NEVER ever use a less than lethal option on a lethal threat.
Damn y'all stroke it slowly only to not give us a decent release. You didn't show it in use You didn't't mention dry stun You didn't give a price point
Came here to say these are incredibly unreliable compared to the previous generations. Multiple shots in light clothing are ineffective even to the point of two different tasers having multiple shots on target with good probe spread. The running theory is it is because the significantly reduced power utilized that no longer generates the air gap from probe to skin through the clothing barrier but axon cant seem to figure out what it is. Buyer beware.
I'm sorry but no matter how sophisticated these get IMO it doesn't mean shit to me. When the use of a taser is in the same level of force on the use of force "matrix" "or what ever your state calls it now" as the firearm I'm going to go to my gun over the taser every time. Why? because I'm better with it, I get to train with it more, I know it'll work everytime whereas the taser doesn't, and many more reasons. How bout we PUNISH the violent offenders instead of letting them out so we have to deal with them again and again instead of coming up with new ways to safely detain them while they're trying to KILL you??

But also able to fit a pistol or semi auto carbine or at the very least a revolver.
This is very revolutionary!!!
06:43. Yeah single officer should never draw a taser vs a knife.
I think it's a good idea, but not just make it available to law but also ccw carriers it could reduce those trigger happy people or those that are in a life situation would drop also the reason of a civilian carrying a fire arm instead of using deadly force cause he fears for his life he can stop the threat as well in a moments needed.
Why not just do wireless probes?
It would be expensive to make a wireless probe that can stun someone. If anything, the ammunition would be more expensive than the weapon.
Plus a wireless connection to a probe could potentially fail, which would consequently kill the perpetrator due to excessive electric damage, rather than the intended use of immobilising said perpetrator.
It’s easier to have a wire connection to the probe, which can be shut off quickly by the user, avoiding a potential death.
It should fire 2 initially then 1 thereafter.
I can tell you that 99% of the screaming and agony that you hear on body cameras is usually A) after the taser was turned off and B) because the person hit was losing it that the police didn't allow them to just continue their rampage.
that’s great but it has to have a price tag just as good.
5k USD. Not too bad.
A person's life is worth a lot more than that.
Less people in hospital, less permanent injuries and deaths etc... the list goes on.
Why wont you make it available to civillians?
The WASR10 of a NEW AGE
Should change the tag from "less lethal" to "less than useless" or "more lethal, to the user."
I can’t handle everything that pours into my phone
Freaking awesome!
Call it the Harpoon
The lifeguards of the lower end of the gene pool.
Next is flamable fluid in a glass bottle, 1000x effective at stunning people.
First off this sounds like you all are trying to eliminate the need for deadly force. Which a less than lethal option will never be able to do. Although Taser does fit a certain type of scenario you should never NEVER ever use a less than lethal option on a lethal threat.
Wattozz wireless stun gun
Bring a taser to a knife fight huh? No thanks, 9mm +p HP's are the correct answer.
Barbaric weapons that are far from safe.
Damn y'all stroke it slowly only to not give us a decent release.
You didn't show it in use
You didn't't mention dry stun
You didn't give a price point
Drive Stun
next one gone be tazer 11 LMFAO
Came here to say these are incredibly unreliable compared to the previous generations. Multiple shots in light clothing are ineffective even to the point of two different tasers having multiple shots on target with good probe spread. The running theory is it is because the significantly reduced power utilized that no longer generates the air gap from probe to skin through the clothing barrier but axon cant seem to figure out what it is. Buyer beware.
Too bad it doesn’t go through police body armor.
Как ты себе это представляешь?
I'm sorry but no matter how sophisticated these get IMO it doesn't mean shit to me. When the use of a taser is in the same level of force on the use of force "matrix" "or what ever your state calls it now" as the firearm I'm going to go to my gun over the taser every time. Why? because I'm better with it, I get to train with it more, I know it'll work everytime whereas the taser doesn't, and many more reasons. How bout we PUNISH the violent offenders instead of letting them out so we have to deal with them again and again instead of coming up with new ways to safely detain them while they're trying to KILL you??
Pretty cool, but I'm waiting for a taser like the one in that one TV Show APB. How come you can't design one like this one: th-cam.com/video/OuXR0F6ZQzc/w-d-xo.html
I heard the Russian guy who designed that one works for Axon now.
Basically after all the blah blah blah the underlying message is we want to make money
not even showing the price = civilians won't be able to afford. also forget the rechargeable batteries, use batteries anyone can get like CR123's. that being said you solved one of my main complaints about these tasers and it's ammo. Granted I can't imagine how much those cartridges will cost in comparison to regular ammo and a firearm.
@John Stevenson I get that, but the taser pulse is trash, I wouldn't trust my life to it
I’m sure you’ve heard the song “IRONY” - well, she’ll probably have to make “PLASTICKY” or something, now!!! 🫶🫰🤭🤪
