I love watching you put the tanks together as well! I especially like this one! I would love to see a new corn snake video from you guys! My baby is about to be a juvenile in just a few days! It's been a challenging 3 months, but we are coming onto the next phase in great shape. I was just not prepared for a baby snake! The size alone was intimidating, but he's growing wildly and holding him feels better now! Have a great week ahead!
Haha duck eggs are great. One of our dogs keeps stealing the eggs 🙃 but until recently, we hadn't had to buy eggs from the store in over a year. It was so nice 🥹
I didn't know they updated the minimums to 18*18*36! Thanks for sharing. Guess I'll be going shopping. Also here to just add the clear globe with moss has a hole in the top and the cresties can get stuck in there and injured! Never happened to me but thought you might want to fill in that hole just to be safe. Thanks so much for your content Elle!
FBH says a 4x4x5 SVL for Created geckos, with the average SVL on a crested gecko being 4.5 inches, the minimum enclosure size is 18x18x22.5 making an 18x18x24 an acceptable size!
The enclosure turned out really great! How do you maintain the humidity with the open area on the sides? What's the average humidity level in your setup?" Sry for my bad english 🫣😅
how have you found the screen sides holding up? i'd like to get my boy a screen enclosure but i'm worried about the strength as he throws himself around so much!
This was awesome and super helpful as someone who has never done this and is looking to get their first crestie and hoping to create a similar space for them to thrive. Thanks for this.
will the springtails escape through the mesh?? im getting a land snail and the tank im getting has a mesh top and im keeping it in my bedroom and i dont want springtails everywhere lol
I love these videos. You help give me ideas for my reptiles. Now I have a question for you and or all your fans. I have an old aquarium in the garage. It's 4ft long, 2ft tall, and 1ft deep. I don't want to just get rid of it. What would be a good snake that could live in this thinner tank? I was thinking a Rosy Boa, or Corn snake? Any good recommendations?
She's been absolutely loving it! It definitely doesn't hold humidity like a more "traditional" crested gecko tank, but I've actually been preferring this sort of tank. And the plants are doing great, too!
Question - I got a tank and did not do the spray foam thing first for the "backdrop" but already got plants and such in the terrarium. Any tips or help with a good background that I can slap in there ? Cork board is what i'm thinking rn but any tips/ideas would be appreciated
I'm low key so confused on whats the best size for new gecko 😂 literally everyone says different sizes bc of their eating patterns, but what size enclosure you rec for a 10 month old crested gecko? Getting her in a couple months when she's a bit older but i want to be confident she's gonna be able to feel comfortable enough to want to eat, etc..
The "minimum size" requirements only just increased to an 18''x18''x36'' for an adult in the last year. So that's probably why you're seeing multiple different size recommendations. 😅 But it also really does depend on the gecko. If it were me, I would try to start a 10 month old out in an 18''x18''x36'', that way I wouldn't have to buy multiple sized enclosures. But there IS always the possibility that the enclosure could be too big for the gecko (especially if it's on the smaller size), and they could have trouble finding their food. If that's the case, you can downsize or just provide multiple feeding areas throughout the tank. Sorry that's not a direct answer, but all geckos are different, so it's hard to have a one size fits all answer.
It's from Etsy! I linked the shop in the description box, but I think they're currently taking a break. She loves that tire swing - I got her a coconut hide to sleep in, and she still shoves herself inside the tire every morning 😅
Hi :) I made a cave out of foam insulation board and covered it with clay and sand. What clear coat would be safe to put over top? I thought since you’re so informative you may know of something I can use? I’ve been searching online, but I’m scared of using something unsafe. I have an Egyptian baby uromastyx.
Since I live in the south (and my AC is never set low) during the spring/summer I don't use a heat source. But during the late fall/winter I previously used a heat mat with a thermostat. This year I'll probably use a deep heat projector set very low with a dimmer switch.
The enclosure looks AMAZING!!!
Today I learned what that little hole in the caulking gun is for.
Good morning Elle, hope you have an amazing Sunday!! I always enjoy watching you build tanks because you are so creative in doing so!! 😊
Awww thank you 💜
Have an amazing week! 😊
@@ellesreptiles you are welcome and thank you!! 😊

Thank you so much! 🥰
CaSandra Davila is your Biggest Fan 🙌
That turned out great. Do you have a mister on her tank to help keep the moisture up?
Thanks for sharing.
GOD BLESS 🦎💖🦎💖🦎💖🦎💖
I've just been using a pump sprayer so far and misting every night. First full shed last night! 🎉

true, but the more space the better!
You have great DIY ideas! I'm going to try something like background you did on my enclosure.

Can I use a 40 gal breeder 36 x 18 x 18 for a created or does it have to be turned on its side and add a door?

How do people hide the thermostat probe in these setups? I never see them

Maybe try a moss grown over it
How is your chameleon doing? 💚
Hey Elle do I have to feed my spotted gecko? bugs.?
Spotted gecko, like a leopard gecko? If so, yes, they are insectivores and should be fed a variety of gutloaded bugs at every feeding
Does anyone know if you have to use a mesh enclosure? Or could I use a regular terrarium for this setup?
It’s actually preferable that you use a glass or pvc terrarium, this is just what she had on hand
What was your heat source

@@ellesreptiles can you run a heat mat behind the foam background?
@@ourlife13no, it'd be on the side
@@ellesreptiles ok thank you
