@AndyAngelZ Back a few years ago, after Periphery had released Casey's version of "Icarus", they put up a short sample of Casey's take on Insomnia on their Myspace page; sort of like a sampler of whats to come. This was very shortly before Casey quite the band, so it was only up for about two months or so. In that time, a Casey fan page was erected which had all of his songs, including this one. This is simply all that was released of Casey's version. The file I have came from that fan page.
@NoaOno And to clarify, Casey appears in the song after the 2nd chorus. That is all he recorded for this song...at least out of what Periphery has publicly released. I'd love to hear a Casey-centric completed version.
@NoaOno Well, the Spencer-version can be purchased on iTunes or your favorite online mp3 purveyor... but the Casey-version will have to be found elsewhere. He only recorded the part that you hear in this mashup... Scour the internet. There's a torrent containing all Periphery/Bulb demos from like '04-'08 and this should be in there... Good luck. If you REALLY can't find it, and you REALLY want it... PM and maybe i can help...
@NoaOno Actually, You can go to the link in the description of this video. In that link you will find ALL of Casey's currently released songs, including the end portion of Insomnia. This file download was created a few years back by a Myspace-based Casey Sabol fanpage that attempted to collect his various recordings and locate them into a single site. This file holds all of those songs.
@FVEliteDT The first half of the song (from the beginning to right after the 2nd chorus) is sung by Spencer Sotelo, Periphery's current vocalist. After that second chorus, when the video shifts to the Blue (dj)gentleman, all vocals are performed by Casey Sabol, Periphery's former vocalist. Once again, I stress that there is no FULL Casey version of Insomnia. That last half is all there is (Currently).
@Ipwnatbassforaliving In general, I agree. Spencer has grown on me in the year I have spent analyzing his work. He has developed immensely over the course of his tenure in the band, and I have a great admiration for him. But Casey is still the best, most creative vocalist this band (and myself) has ever seen. His contributions to this band's sound are undeniable and I greatly attribute him with giving the band a vocal direction, which it has never really had before. But Spencer 'fits' better.
@Ipwnatbassforaliving Keep in mind, Casey was on the DEMO version when the song and its vocals were still premature. I wonder what caseys vocals would sound like on the fully matured version and with as many edits as spencer had and as much vocal processing.
@sauron610 Hey man, to each their own. I think I like it better because I heard Casey's first. Spencer's is still top notch, but Casey just made that sound more original for me.
Sorry man I don't. I think there is another youtube clip someone recently uploaded with just that section. I can't really link clips in comments. I may look into uploading my own version of just Casey.
@ianguitarist4 is there a version of this song where Casey actually sings the whole thing?? if not, then why do you only have the outro of casey singing why doesn't he sing the whole thing
3:26 And what am I....
Casey's parts and harmonies were creativity off the charts, deliveries with such conviction
I wish I could hear Casey's version of the Periphery album. I'm in love with his voice :|
I asked Misha about this. Sadly there is no "Casey Version" of P1 outside of these demos.
I mean, Casey IS pretty amazing. But I think Sp0nce was the right choice in the end
Will MacEachern Agreed.
I love how technical their music is, but amidst all the chaos they manage to keep their bassist audible. Always has impressed me.

3:17 That clean edit though...
I actually like Casey's harmonies. They're pretty cool

He only fits better because Casey quit the band and we don't have his version of Periphery's catalogue.

Spencer wearing Australian band T shirt Closure in Moscow!!! They're first albums before pink lemonade are fucking awesome!!!

3:20ish is when Casey takes over ppl
@NoaOno sorry about that... follow the link in the description. ianguitarist4 just mentioned it...
I just thought it was a pretty funny picture, and wanted to add a bit of character to the video. All for the lulz, basically.

@NoaOno 3:17 to the end is Casey... or were you kidding?

hey man, you got another link to the end bit with just casey? that link is broken :(
does anyone know what he says at 3:27-3:30?
Almost5768 "And what am I?"
I like Spencer's harmony better, sorry casey. :(
The only voice I hear on Periphery's first album is Chris Barretto's
Matty Bear stop smoking meth Chris Barretto was the worst singer periphery ever had!
