Parralex has to do with distance. At what distance are the sights zeroed at? Try 50 yards. Or 25 yards. The one that held parrellex would be worthless at a longer range.

Cheap ones you need the distance which is perfectly acceptable for most hunting purposes. I choose the better ones for other reasons that make them far superior like Dot clarity, visibility, & the mechanics for sight adjustment and retention are far superior. All extremely important aspects. I love my Holosun and took the $35 rmr fake off of the 22 I put it on and put it in the box. I will not even put it on my pellet gun. The sight is more important than the gun itself even TBH. People are clueless what they're doing. I've been shooting and hunting for over 30 years and just do yourself a favor and skip the cheap crap cause it belongs in the trash before shipping.

You would literally waste more ammo trying to sight and keep the thing sighted in than buying a Holosun or anything better. Not only that but the visibility in the daytime is extremely poor on these cheap ones compared to a good one. Do yourself a favor and save your money and put it towards something worth owning that you will be happy to use without all the frustration. I won't even put it on my Red Ryder BB gun for the kids that's how poor it is. This is one of those things that is so bad that even a hoarder thinks about throwing it away.
Can you check the parallax at further distances. It's very common for red dots to have more parallax up close than further out. The same thing happens with $600 standard reticle scopes. Might have 0 parallax at 100 yards yet have a ton at 10 yards. Basically your parallax check didn't check anything. Show us at 50 yards plus if you will. Even the expensive ones aren't parallax free until 50 yards normally. Least check it further out or put a Good brand one side by side and show the difference at different ranges.

I can tell you right now though because I tried one that the cheap junk $40 or whatever fakes are not good in my experience but not because parallax but because the clarity of the dot & other problems with sighting etc. But I only tried one and had enough. I'm sticking with the good brands.

"parallax free" optics merely reshape the glass so that at some predestined range the optic will experience no parallax but closer or further than that and you still have some.
shock resistance is the biggest thing lacking in "airsoft" grade optics. Some will lose zero or stop working within a mag. Some of the better replicas can go on .22s, but you'd have to get lucky with a peach of an example to have one survive a rifle or even a 9mm.

Sorry guys, Holosun is a legit optic company. Also why are you comparing a holographic optic to a reflex optic? FYI EOTech’s suffer from thermal drift so no optic is perfect. Red dots are for quick acquisition, not precision.
For the price of $249 the Holosun 507c is one of the best red dots I have ever bought. Automatic brightness level, auto off and just touch the weapon to turn it on. Have yet to change the battery after 2+ years. If the battery does go dead it will also run on solar power very well in an emergency. Also switches between 3 mil dot and dot with ring. Absolutley no paralax issues out to 100yds+.
Sort of considering buying a real cheap micro red dot to mount on my Glock 17. I'm not willing to spend $300-$400 on a mil-spec micro for a handgun. I'd go $300-$600 optic for a long gun all day, but with the pistol I'm pretty sure I'll stick with irons most of the time. But I would still like to see if having that (comparatively) big (comparatively) heavy thing mounted on a (comparatively) compact pistol really is beneficial enough to make up for making the handgun more unwieldy.
Red dot > iron sights for sure. the ability to focus on your target instead of your front sight while shooting during a hostile encounter should not be underestimated.
When your eyes start going, and your arms start getting too short (I’m getting old) you might start looking into the dot. I’m starting to think very heavily on the subject.

Parallax doesn't scale with distance at all. It's absolutely possible to have a terrible parallax effect at 5 yards but almost zero parallax at 100 yards.
2024 update: Holy Warrior HRS RMR is the best Trijicon RMR replica to buy. $52 on eBay. Holds zero on my Glock 19.3 clone. Make sure to use blue loctite and torque to at least 12 inch pound.

Try moving and shooting with irons. I agree they are plenty accurate when your just standing still shooting but optics make everything faster when you are moving around and shooting since the dot won't loose focus in your vision.
