I agree with being as lean weight less body fat being as lean as possible makes a huge difference on this relative strength kind of strength skill. Even that guy pro weighted calisthenics guy Mathew Zlat said in his one arm pull up transformation video that weight loss did speed up his process tremendously with the Oap

when you say 150% of your bodyweight you mean doing pull ups with 50% of your bodyweight attached right? like if i weigh 150 I should aim for +75lbs not actually +150% of your bodyweight attached?

Tread cautiously with the “lose weight” advice in the climbing community, seems in recent times it’s become quite a sensitive topic. (Even though it’s perfectly valid advice at times)

I elect to speak the truth. Weather the truth is "lose weight" or "don't lose weight"...when we look at climbers...not a single one is overweight or close to. ...Thank you for the warning🫡

You talk about OAP but in the video you show both a pull up and a chin up. The chin up is way easier in my experience.

I was wondering about that. I managed to get a one-arm chin just off weighted pull up training and it seemed easy enough, but I've never tried an OAP before.

i think the transition from pull to chin looks way cooler than either or on their own. I can do just the pull on it's own but never tried just a chin.

@@ChengisAlwaysClimbing fuck i was gonna say, sorry man i can admit tho ur 1000% correct, i light at around 56kg and 5,10 and compared to friends who are 20kg heavier than me i find this sort of stuff much easier even though they are way stronger
