@@kristinazubic9669 I mean, let's be fair: this is a fine staging, but there's no actually textual evidence within Nozze di Figaro that he's meant to be a barber. One could easily conclude that he'd given it up on becoming the count's servant.

i like bloom's performance but i don't think the shaving helps this scene
I have been lucky enough to be able to watch this entire production on YT a few years back, before it was moved off. Would be happy to purchase a copy if they ever decided to do that, as it was superbly staged and the acting is just as good as the singing.
It looks like that production was very fun to watch and very well executed!! The orchestra did a very good job in adjusting to the scene.
This is the only production I’ve seen with a different staging of this aria. Bravo!

I love how the director of this production decided to show Figaro using his skills as a barber. Figaro was trained as a barber after all, and this is shown in The Barber of Seville. Great callback to the Puccini work, which was written 30 years after Mozar's opera.
