Being gas powered is not actually a requirement for being a muscle car, it just needs to have lots of power and that's exactly what a Tesla has.
I agree. I love drag racing but I also drive electric forklifts all day. There is no question the electrical drive will outperform all those gears and banging metal. I have known what an electric motor was capable for well over a decade. I love V8 muscle cars but I wouldn't even bother putting it against a wound up instant power and torque beast like a Tesla. It's not the same thing.
That's because they make instant power. You can't exactly tune a battery powered vehicle to achieve faster times. Only really possible upgrade would be changing out motors. Or removing weight in an EV. So they're going to always be pulling fast numbers right out of the box because you cannot really modify them.

Best engines of the millennium are K series and LS swaps. With those two engines I've seen 20k cars or less beat high end cars. Especially the K series they have even K swapped Ferrari and porsches.

Average stock electric car can go 350-400 miles, with a modified battery 750. You could put the modified battery in for races. So yes, electric can run 500 mile race
its not like ICE race cars can go further. plus teslas are made for urban areas where 500mi. is more than enough. they could make the battery bigger but its not worth it

Here's the thing. How much did they spend on those electrics to have them get up like that? If they spent more than they got the car for under the hood, it doesn't count. I promise you can build a V8 that will dog walk an electric if you're dumping 50 grand in tunes and aftermarket racing gear into it. If those are stock it's impressive. If it's aftermarket to the max it's no different than anything else. You can build a golf cart to run over 150 mph with enough time and money.
It's, and im 90% sure about that, all stock. Electric powered motors have 99% torque effective imidiate at recieving power, drag is their forte. But they lose out on top speed.

EVs may be good at acceleration off the line and getting up speed quicker, but they're top speeds really suck. Plus I prefer sounds with racing.
