    Update: All Charlie Tickets can now be tapped on fare gate scanners rather than being inserted as show in the video.

    Thanks for the tutorial; my wife and I will be heading to Boston in June, and will probably need a ride or two on the subway.

    Can I just use Pay like in London to tap in or out? I don’t know who Charlie is, I just want a normal ticket

    Hi I am very confused. Who is Charlie? Please help, thank you! I would be wanting to travel from the Airport to Mansfield for the Xfinity Center to watch ODESZA.

      In Massachusetts we have this thing called a charlie card that you can use and put x amount of money on it instead of buying a ticket each time to ride the subway. Instead of going to the Charlie card store you can purchase one as a 7 day link pass but also put money on it in case the link pass runs out

      @@ameerali.ouarda I know it's been a long time, but here's the song: "M.T.A." by Kingston Trio, a tune often referred to as "Charlie on the MTA" (which was the earlier name for MBTA) Cheers.

    Hello from Brazil. I'm planning to travel to Boston next year. Thanks for this video. I've been in NYC a few years ago, and there was a week card that I could use unlimited times for 7 consecutive days. Is there anything like this option in Boston?

    • @evandrinks
      @evandrinks  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      There actually is a 7 day pass available in Boston. I purchased two of them for my two week trip in 2021. They are definitely quite convenient. Thank you for your thoughtful comment, and I hope that you have an excellent trip to Boston!

    Bought paper single ticket on previous trips to Boston and would like to obtain a plastic one for multi-use, this video only shows how to reload one that you already have. Are they available via the machine? Are they free? Please include that info for us!

    • @dalmationblack

      You can buy them via the new fare machines (you can tell them apart from the old ones because they have a big circular tapping point immediately to the right of the big screen) or get them from most MBTA employees in the stations.

    • @dalmationblack
      @dalmationblack ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'll also warn you that some of the green line branch stops (especially on the E line) don't have fare machines at all so it's impossible to add value or get a ticket/card there, so plan accordingly if you go out that way and make sure you already loaded any value for the return trip. You can also try to pay in cash on board but ime the conductor usually just lets you go so you don't hold up the line getting onto the train
