I recovered a broken foot using Thorogood boots.
Excellent leather quality, and unlike REDWINGS; Thorogood's leather didn't wear through at the toe of the boot, even though I work construction and usually wear out boots at the "toe" end.
My work requires that I wear a steel toe...
I have flat feet and had suffered a broken menial malleolus.
Recovery was difficult.
It was suggested that I purchase a Moc Toe boot, and throughout the considerable pain from the injury during my rehabilitation, this boot delivered beyond my expectations.
I owe the skilled craftsmen, "and women" a debt of gratitude.
Without their fine product, I might not have been able to return to work as quickly as I did.
I have a second set of boots on the way, and I will re-sole the original pair.
Thank you for building a quality product.
I appreciate that they are AMERICAN made, and that the quality of this footwear is second to none.
I will hopefully continue to purchase my work boots from Thorogood for the rest of my life.

After an extensive search, I bought my first pair of quality work boots, and decided to get some Thorogoods. I’m a mailman in a rural area and I wear through my 60 dollar boots in less than a year. Excited to see the different with these.
Love my Thorogoods! Fantastic tour. I wear them every day at work as an apprenticing cobbler, and I love that they’re American/ Wisconsin made. ❤️

I must say that I have worn redwing boots for 15 years and tried the Thorogood wedge boots 3 years ago and never went back to red wing. best boots in my opinion . made in the USA .

Cool Tour! I never new how many steps and processes a boot needs/ goes thru to be made. Now i understand why they cost as much as they do.
Neither did I! It's a very intentional and cool process, definitely helped me understand more behind the price tag. And there's much more that I trimmed out of this video!

Probably my favorite boots. Super low break in and very comfortable. They last a little over a year in AZs high temperatures and long hours.

Is the sewing done at that facility? Seems like that got skipped over in the video.
Good question! I’ve saw in another video they said the Amish sew the upper and another said they are done overseas. Never can get a direct answer. Kinda deceitful if not. They put the little flags on them and the union made stamp but aren’t made 100 in America or by union employees. I hope I’m wrong but doubtful. They are on the low end of quality boots so I wouldn’t honestly be surprised.

I just ordered a set of boots through my work. I knew nothing about Thorogood before. I saw they were made in the USA and felt extremely well made. I did a quick search online and found your video , what a great look at an American boot manufacturer ! Great video . Excited to get them !

Best boots I’ve ever worn in 20 years of hard work. Hands down. Mine are gonna get new soles if I can find a place to do it.

One point to note for future location process tour videos like this: be brave about the camera. Get the camera person to shoot at the persons working, doing the process itself. The voice of the tour guide can be recorded separately with lapel mic. We don’t really need to see the guide all the time. Only at the introduction of each section. But the process she is describing needs to be seen. Lots of it were lost because the camera didn’t catch them or from too far away. Overall. Still helpful to feel the Thorogood factory.
It would be good to also get the sense of what it means by unionised workers and employee owned company. They are known to be one. Milk that too!

I liked the view you give of the factory. I have seen that they use a conditioner for the Moc Toe Tabaco boot, do you know what conditioner it is? I have a pair of these boots and I don't want them to change color.
So can you confirm the boot is actually sewn in the USA at the union shop? They have stated before that the upper is sewn overseas and only bottomed here in USA at the union shop.

I wear the Crazy House 6in Moc Toes and they are the best thing I have ever worn. Look forward to buying the 1957's series this year.

Best boots I’ve ever owned are a pair of thorogood’s. They where comfortable from day one wearing them 10 hours a day for work. No break in period
You should carry ee wide sizes on your site. Considering you have the lowest price i have seen thus far. I spent about 290 at boot barn for my midnight’s, but they also carry wides
Thank you for the suggestion, I've just added them to the website! We can special order wide sizes and have them shipped out just a day or two slower than usual since Thorogood is a few hours away from us.

they need to make a motorcycle boot with ankle cups and stiffer ankle support to prevent twists and bends.
At 1:58, she takes a boot off the rack, a TH-camr claims these racks of boots are from China, the Thorogood USA staff, just do the final trim, sole and packaging. To say “made in America”. I’m not sure if that’s true or not, but the tour didn’t include making the boot itself.
They skip it for a reason. Buy american boots. Jk,, nicks, whites etc

I have a pair of Thorogood boots and they feel great. My only issue is I wish they didn't have so much synthetic material. They compete with Redwing with a lot less leather.
When your soles wear out you can have a cobbler re-sole them and change the synthetic welt to a leather one.
I have 3 pairs and each one I love. I won't wear anything else!.
I’ve heard the leather uppers are stitched out of factory. That step is totally skipped over so I’m assuming it’s true :,(

The only complaint I have for mine is the sole didn't last I walk on concrete all day and in less than a year they need to be resoled
Those stitching machines were designed and built to last forever.
Wish they were water proof,love the design and comfort but need them to be waterproof

We don't have it on hand shipping within 1-2 business days, but I've just updated the website for pre-ordering size 13! Thorogood is just a few hours north of our HQ so we can stock up and ship them out in no time.
I started wearing thorogood boots in 2016 at that time the boot was costing me just under $220 dollars. Every time after that when I would purchase a new pair the prices would go up and up and up right now here in Los Angeles that boot is checking out at just over $290. I’m sorry, but I refuse to pay that much. Shame on thorogood for spiking their prices so much it was and is my absolute favorite boot, but I will never purchased it again not at that price point.

Seriously! I swore off low-quality boots years ago, and I cannot go back.
You guys make the best boots, I absolutely love them, but too many models w/ Moc toe v round toe. Useless for anyone who welds, runs a torch etc. Molten slag and sparks land on Moc toe and burn out seams in no time. I know, just buy a round toe. I do, but they are not offered in the same variety as Moc. Anyhow keep up the great work and keep it American.
I have a pair of 300 dollar thorogood moctoes and they are the most uncomfortable boot I own.

How come I have 2 different color 6" boots? One is darker than the other 😢 I didn't notice this right away or I would have returned them ....
Maybe do some research on Heritage boots and Goodyear Welted footwear before becoming a dealer and going on a factory tour. You just stood there holding your hands awkwardly. Why did you not ask any questions or make any comments or share any of your experience with your heritage footwear? (Assuming you actually wear the product you are now selling….)

I own two pair both failed before needing to be reoled aboit 6-8 months in complete failure. And these were just daily boots walking around not at a jobsite.
Toebox plastic cap between leather and the canvas came loose and pishes down on my toes
Was told unable to benfoxed without taking boots completely apart so they are just disposeable trash

Why would they wear heavy work boots to work at an inside and out of the weather job when they could wear comfortable and lightweight tennis shoes?
@@darkofpsI wear them to work every day. The steel toes are heavy, but I just get the soft toe. Supposed to have a steel or composite toe at work but I cheat. The soft toes are a lot lighter than the steel toes. I know one thing. Standing on concrete all day they make a difference. Idk if I could wear the steel toes all day. They are definitely too heavy.

@@darkofps yeah I doubt they’re required to wear a composite toe or steel toe making the boots. I’d say they all wear whatever tennis shoe they want to wear. 100%. Hell I’m supposed to wear a composite or steel at my job and I just get a soft toe. The only way they’ll know the difference is if I get my toes ran over by a forklift and in that event I think I’d rather be ran over in a soft tie vs a steel toe because I’m pretty sure the steel toe would whack my toes off lol. Hopefully that never happens but you get what I’m saying!

I recently bought two pairs of thorogood mock toe boots warrantied to be water proof...the first pair leaked horribly and the second pair leaked instantly. The warranty was good on the first pair and I didn't bother to trade in the second pair...these boots are not water proof at all. The stitches leak like a bucket with holes in it or something
That’s kinda weird. I have moc safety toes but no waterproof and unless I stand in deep enough water even my feet don’t get wet in mine.

Don't believe anyting any manufacturer says about their boots. Rose Anvil shows exactly how these boots are made. He cuts them in half and shows how great or poorly they are made. Thorogoods are slacking at least.
I can’t help but laugh at how they actually skipped over the lasting process and actual construction. It’s a convenient way to avoid showing that Thorogood moc toes aren’t actual moc toes; they just have the appearance of moc toes. That’s a one-pieces vamp with a long ridge sewn to deliberately deceive the buyer into thinking that it’s a more complicated process than on its surface. 😂

I find it ironic that none of the workers are wearing the work boots they are manufacturing. I am always proud and actually wear every day the product of the company that I work for.
I remember growing up my dad wearing Thorogood boots and Carhartt jackets...he was proud to be a blue-collar fella (diesel mechanic)...he wore his dirty jeans and flannel shirts with pride, and he thought us kids the same. I grew up to be a truck driver, and It really annoys me to see how hipsters hijacked the blue-collar workwear and turned it into a fashion... they did the same with Dr. Martens brand.....they ruined flannels and beards....please go back to wearing oversized cardigans, sandals, and greasy hair
