We used those slots to insert soft metal paper page holders with the two fold-over arms (long ones and shorter ones). The slots were spaced to fit correctly with our paper two-hole punches. They kept pages from falling out of the often used files (we were a medical practice). Folders with those slots are hard to find these days. I’m not sure that’s what was intended by the designers, but that’s how our office took advantage of them. Loved this tutorial!❤

You must never get tired of us telling you how creative you are, because we won’t stop!! This has been one of the most inspiring tutorials I have ever watched!! Now I have to clear my working area (very small) to try at least one of your ideas. Thanks for being so patient with us as you seem to know what our questions would be if we could speak to you directly. Blessings to you from Betty in Ohio.

Those are hanging file folder pockets/swing that fit on a metal frame inside a drawer. Your file folders are placed in the pockets. The slots are for the file tag name (left side of plastic goes in 1 slot and the right side of the tag gies in the opposite side. When you ipen your "file drawer", all those "tabs" sit on the top above so that you can see the file name immediately. Hope this makes sense. Great idea!

Thank you Natasa, every single project of yours is a full workshop! You are very generous, thank you ever so much for the techniques, the clear explanations, and all that hard work of preparation (I have run many workshops in the past and know what it takes to display such a clear tutorial). All the projects are fun, but most of all very useful and they are the kind of creations that are foundation to take them further and apply our own style for our own needs. Most grateful.

So inspired! I have so many ideas. I could create a envelope book to store my postage stamps for use in my projects. I could sort them by color and coordinate the colors with the individual envelopes so that I don't need to write the color on it. I love the idea of embossing some of the envelopes, genius! Thank you again for the ideas where you talk about all the other ways we can make it our own. You are the best!

Brilliant!!! when the grandkids were younger (now 21-16-15) they would decorate the envelopes of greeting cards for different occasions for hubby and me. Coincidently, I found them the other day and wondered where the time had gone and replaced them in my box. Now I have a way to display their art work in a new way!! and of course, add a picture or two of the corresponding Birthday, anniversary etc. Thank you for your inspiration!

It has been a year since the last time I've been able to find time to sit and use my computer or watch different crafts projects. I have to say, your use of some English words and English expressions have gotten so good. You are so confident! This project is so neat ! I can't wait to find some time to use my supplies....oh! How I wish! Also, I saw something like an envelope book (yours is so much better) . You put what you are grateful for as time passes, in each envelope. The possibilities for subjects are endless; grateful for things a child or husband, etc. does or says. When it's full it can be a present to that person. God's promises that you recognized as has actually having been fulfilled in an event, etc. in your life. So many possibilities! And GORGEOUS! THANK YOU for showing us how, Envelope #1 is for you! ! Grateful for Natasha because....!

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, the best part of your videos is just listening to your stream of consciousness thought process as you work out your projects. It makes it seem as if I'm crafting right there along with you and I don't feel at all foolish for answering your questions and making suggestions as if you can hear me. Have you considered moving to Texas? The summers are beastly but the weather's nice the rest of the time. We could be neighbors. Hope you say yes. ~ Lisa

This is fabulous thank you! I love it and will try for sure. Regarding those slits.... we used those exact files in the office where I worked previously. You get a metal piece, like a flat piece with two 'prongs' that goes through the slits and then through the papers you keep in the file, then folds down to hold it in place. Almost like split pins... Hope it makes sense.

I am making a small project to put my parents paper things that I have. I have my father’s report cards, birth certificates and my mother’s as well. Your timing is exquisite to teach us about the envelopes because I was stuck at where to go after I made the portfolio. I will figure out how to send you the pictures when I am finished. I don't know if they still do it, but Hallmark shops used to throw out the envelopes of their cards because the company only wanted the cards back, not the envelopes. Might be worth an ask to see if that's still true. Natasa, even when you do things I've seen before, you do them in such a way that has never been seen before. More creative, more elegant, more fun. I liked your teasing(s) in general (you are so good at it!) and todays no exception (about us liking our cleaning/cooking better than crafting 😊). I am following what I noticed in your videos awhile ago -- started to use simple, runny, and cheap school glue on parts where there could be no issue with sipping-age and wrinkling-age. My strong and expensive glues are now ONLY for where and when they are really necessary. This way I have no problem with investing in pricier quality glues. I will build my initial stacks (or several) not earlier that just before going to bed so I have to temptations to continue to the next steps without waiting for the runny glue to dry properly. And I will have fun the next day decorating.

Hello Natasha, someone may already have told you, but those little holes are there to add two pronged metal fasteners to hold more papers. It usually had two little metal slides that then slid over to keep the prongs shut and also to add more papers later. A little outfashioned. Hopefully, this helps.

I love this project. It's interactive fun with a touch of surprise when there's another envelope that opens a different direction. Lots of beautiful work on these with the added elements.
