Great review, love that fact that you showed the bass had no neck dive. So many TH-camrs forget about this aspect of the bass. I am a Ibanez Bass player myself. Ibanez does produce some amazing bases and guitars hands down one of the greatest companies for money can buy!!

Played a Fender and an SR at the weekend. The SR was light, comfortable and well balanced. The Fender took an instant neck dive.
I'm now only looking at Ibanez SR models.

I just got this thing, and I love it. It plays like an absolute dream. I haven’t got a handle on the guitars EQ and my Ampeg amp yet, but I’m getting there. But the neck is awesome, it looks like a million bucks, and I’m extremely satisfied. $800 well spent.

    Hi Ivan,
thx for your nice review. Would it be possible for you to make a follow up video soon in which you compared these Ibanez basses with the ones of Yamaha of the TRBX product family? I've heard so many goog things about those basses and I really would be interessted to learn about your opinion. Since you're channel has evolved impressively over the last year or so, I am nearly convinced that Yamaha Germany would also be very eager to help you in any way. 😎

Awesome review, that baby is gonna be a great friend for my SR650. What strings are equipped on it? Judging by the overall tone as well as the coloured ball ends, i guess it is a set of D'Addario 45/100 or 45/105

How do the Nordstrand pick-ups compare to Aguilar pick-ups? One thing I really like about the Ibanez SR2400 (Aguilar pick-ups) is the volume level balance between the different strings. The E string is not blaring loud, like on cheap Ibanez basses -- Almost like having built-in compression. This is much more noticeable and appreciated when playing live versus recording.

    • @IvanBassist
      @IvanBassist  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Unfortunately i haven’t tried an Ibanez with Aguilar pickups, but you can adjust the string-to-string balance by raising or lowering the pickups

Have you ever used bartolini bh2 pickups? If so how would you compare these to those in your opinion? Also, does this finish seem susceptible to chipping? The SR500 line unfortunately has this problem, it’s difficult to tell if the 600 series does as well just by videos / photos

Yes. I did a demo of the BTB Iron Label: th-cam.com/video/i67ghZXhOj4/w-d-xo.html
I prefer the Nordstrand pickups, to be honest. They have more top end/presence

The one I received was very light. Can’t do anything about weight variance between individual instruments 🤷🏽‍♂️

Dude it's a bass, not a guitar. Why the cringey pick? Fingers and slap only, please.
    Video deemed untrustworthy :D

Pick is for attack and speed. Some songs and styles benefit from using a pick (especially songs with fast bass chording) but it shouldn't be the only tool in your arsenal. Any bass player worth anything should be able to bounce from finger, slap and pick techniques. The belief that bassists shouldn't ever play with a pick is just archaic bass dogma that has no place occupying the modern bass player's mental real estate.

What do you think about these licesend Big Break Nords compared to (also licensed) Barts MK1 which were put on lots of Ibanez SRs before?

      I prefer the Nordstrands!
The barts are also good, but they have a darker more muted top end. I like the clarity of the nordstrands ✌🏽
