    Beautiful Soundgear! I've been very curious about these! It looks like they're beginning to retire the well worn Bart MKs in favor of these Nordies... and I'm GLAD! Great video my friend!

      idk it's just my ear or......it's like you play " 3 band fender P bass and forgot to lowering the mid knob and treble knob"
      dont get it wrong ....it's very outstanding tonal characteristic....and beautiful woodgrain too.....
      and yes......when i bought my sr1400 mlg......it is high action too....and i go to music technician to help me resettinh the neck and lowering the action..... maybe my hand such a whiner.....or the natural characteristic of thin and slim neck is make you have to resetting the neck more often ....or just because of humidity in my place.....
      and thanks for reviewing this bass ivan...i am keep wondering what ibanez big break sounds like when it first come.....and you give me answer

    I've got an SR755 and I play it A TON. it's light, sounds great and has a crazy fast neck. For the price, it's the best bass I've ever owned. Hotrodded it with Bart NTMB with A/P and coil taps. Upgraded the Barts to the 'real deal' barts. Incredibly versatile bass!

    I had it custom set up by Sweetwater with different strings at low/medium distance to fret (they give you three options: higher - medium to low - low . I am happy the way they set it up, less action.

    Hey Ivan,
    nice first impressions by you about this pretty bass. Do you have any experiences in regard to the different variants of the Trbx series by Yamaha that you might bewilling to share with us? I am especially interested to learn about your thoughts towards the Trbx 504 and 604. So far I've only heard good things about them.
    Thx and Tschüss! 😁

      heyho
      i own a Yam TRBX 605 in a beautiful amber finish..This bass is getting even better the more I play and explore it...great workmanship,gret neck profile, really good pickups and preamp...no need to change anything on this bass...just perfect the way it is ,plays and sounds...
      I use it with a E,A,D,G C configuration..and tuned in dropped D..no need for a low B String...
      its 34 inch scale...
      kind regards...
      higly recommandable bass in my opinion..the 4 string surely as well...TRBX4 i guess...
      Ibanez neck profile is way to small for my hands...never get used to it..so that brand doesnt work for me...BTB does it but dont like the body design...

    Hey Ivan, do you have any bass with dive neck? If yes, how do you deal with it?
    I've just bought one beautiful one with this nightmare issue.

    • @IvanBassist
      @IvanBassist  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey there! Ibanez sent me the bass for the video test, but it’s going back after i’m done testing 😄
      About the neck dive: I don’t have any basses that actively neck dive when playing with a strap standing up. Some fall slightly when sitting down tho.
      Which bass did you buy?

    • @rodrigomatos6870
      @rodrigomatos6870 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@IvanBassist It is a P Bass (actually a PJ) of a brazilian brand. For use a bad combination of woods. Poplar body and maple neck. I'm managing using straps even sitted. But its annoying!

    • @IvanBassist
      @IvanBassist  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You could try to add ultra light tuners in order to reduce some of the weight of the neck

      The only fix I know is a high-friction strap, and that's after owner a neck-diver.

    Hey 👋 buddy thanks for the awesome reviews, keep it up 👍, also I’m in between buying the Ibanez SR606e or Fender ultra Precision bass I know they’re totally different basses I like them both but my question is for the investment as my last bass which one would you choose to buy? I really value your opinion :)

    • @IvanBassist

    Looks the part definitely. I hope I can get an idea about how this differs from my SR650E from your review (when it comes). Essentially it's going to be the difference between the pickups as I see that everything else is the same.

    • @ebx100
      @ebx100 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My 655E 5 string I bought is identical except the pickups as well. And my action was too high too. I've heard all basses made in Indonesia have high action... but easily fixed.

    • @IvanBassist
      @IvanBassist  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The 650E that i tested came with nice action, which is why i was surprised about this one

    • @MotoMarios
      @MotoMarios 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@IvanBassist Mine was OK-ish too. I don't think it's a serious issue though as the action is adjustable. A high nut is a more serious problem though, because it affects action (and intonation) and filing a nut down to the correct height can be easily botched. Unless it is done expertly, especially the E string can easily sound muted and bland. I had it happen on two of my basses and I had to change nut altogether (case 1 - an ESP-LTD B-204) or use pieces of paper to "tighten" down the string in the slot (case 2 - the SR650).

    I have an Ibanez SR655 with Nordstrand P/J pick up configuration. For the price, they really take beating. I'm a little surprised at the high action on yours; maybe the instrument was the last one off the line on a Friday night!? I shouldn't think you'll have a problem getting it to play just right. Personally, I've always set up my basses myself and I encourage all players to do the same. With modern manufacturing standards, even cheaper instruments can be made to play well. Thanks for your reviews, Ivan.😉

    • @IvanBassist
      @IvanBassist  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I’ve already lowered the action and it’s working fine now. It was just a bit of a surprise because all the other Ibanez basses I’ve received for testing had a good setup right out of the box.
