Your consistent ball striking keeps you in a great scoring position. Great tips!
Thank you Steve!
Your short game is excellent MSH. Keep up the good work.
Thank you!
Thanks to you i spend more time on lag putting than anything else and have seen my scores improve 5 or 6 shots per round. Keep up the good work MSH
Thank you for the support!
Thanks for the excellent tips.
Thank you!
Lag putting is a strong part of your game. The course looks great. Love the fall colors.
Thank you!
Great video. The way you break it down.
Glad you liked it!
Great video, alot of key points 👏🏾👍🏾
Thank you!
Just getting by started. Been playing for less than 3 months. These have helped me immensely. Terrible to start shot a 120. Now I’m 3 rounds of 105 consistently… small goals for me, next stop break 100. Thanks bro!
You can do it!
MSH, I love your videos, of all the golf instructors on TH-cam I find I can relate to you the best. I love your approach cause it's like your teaching me how to think about playing on each hole. You don't spend time teaching tips to correct every aspect of what I think I'm doing wrong. It's like i'm playing a round with you and it's educational but still fun. Thanks Man.... keep going...
That is EXACTLY what I'm hoping for. If I can help you play better and have fun that is all I can ask for. Thank you so much!
Committed to the shot, great advice!
Thank you!
Love your videos. Early morning here in Thailand, nice cup of tea made and it's video time. Try to learn a few things.
I appreciate you!
Love the content. Keep up the great work.
Thanks, will do!
9:16 those wooden cart zone obstacles!!. Nice round and another great video:)
Thank you Ed!
Just sent this to a dozen buddies! Who have s ton of speed, but its displaced, and just cause you have it doesn't mean you have to use it...make agressive swings at conservative targets...love your vids...I'm on the opposite side of distance, but love watching quality golf being played, and great thinking around a course...
Thank you so much!
Your videos have helped. I subscribed because you’re accepting of your own skill set, consistent in your play and have a great attitude. This video’s quote of accept the bad and move on may be some of the best advice in golf. It’s really refreshing to see an “Everyman” play, test and explore. I’ve grown increasingly tired of 20-30 year olds with 0 handicaps and rubber backs giving me miracle advice and tips to instantly fix me…
Thank you so much Bob! I'm happy you find value in what I provide!
Thank you for the tips. I came to realize what you said early in your vid about working on the short game. I have to learn to use my wedges and judge the distances. Putting, im confident in myself. I typically 2 put with a once in a while 3 put. Its just my short game now.
Glad it was helpful!
I’m a fan subscriber. . Your Cleveland Hywood recommendation gave me an accurate 190 approach.for the first time. Your friend Tom’s swing showed me some keys too-He keeps his head so still and his trail foot rolls on to the instep in his downswing; both helped me with impact. Video quality, short and sweet, and music is chill. A+. I’d enjoy hearing more of your thoughts on your boss chipping, Thanks
Thank you so much!
Great video ❤
Thank you!
Appreciate your video’s, you do a great job of teaching how a regular guy can play solid golf and have fun. I have a video idea, it would be great to see you practice chipping and your approach and technique to various lies.
Great idea! Thank you!
Thank you for putting in the time to help us. BTW, your consistency on those punch shots has helped me tremendously. I could rarely punch out successfully. Just a little work and concentration has helped. Thanks again. "Hit'em straight "
Thank you so much for the continued support! You keep watching and I'll keep bringing it!
Great video. I learned some important things watching such as mud affecting ball flight. I'm playing at a private club tomorrow and will be using your tips. Hopefully this Midwest weather is decent enough.
Thank you so much and play well!
Solid tips. Thank you. Hope to get a sub 80 score in the next six months, gauging from the progress I’ve had the last year and a half.
You can do it!
Great tips again and content, keep producing the content. Here's an idea, produce a video for golfers who are on a budget and where and what to look for in choosing good quality used equipment, especially wedges and how much they should pay.
I did a video golf on a budget awhile back but it could use an update. Thank you Steven!
Yes would love to get more tips on how you strategize the course,it's definitely help me.As i said before your a very intelligent guy.I still can't thank you enough for doing review on HY-WOOD,it's my best club now . I play cleveland driver xl launcher it's better than Sim2 max, ping g410 plus ,g425 max driver that i've used ,yes a cleveland is better. I'm thinking about getting the xl halo iron set now. Swing speed much slower recently. Have you had a chance to try the odyssey versa jailbird putter, just purchased one 34 inch original ,after trying my friend's putter, man this putter hits the ball where your aiming it. I usually hit my putts left hang low inside ten feet , i don't have to anymore. I'm just curious if you tried it, you shouldn't change a thing your putting is spot on, pretty deadly ! Thanks for your videos,we love it!
I appreciate the kind words! I have not tried that putter yet but I just wrote it down and will try it if I get my hands on it. I should be able to try that Cleveland driver in the future. Thank you!
MSH, have you tested the Maxfli balls yet? I was happy with the three piece tour and am now trying the four piece tour. I’m starting to run out of time in northern Illinois though so I may have to postpone until spring. I really enjoy your videos. As a short hitter myself, you’ve been an inspiration.
I tested the tour ball over a year ago. I have another I just haven't gotten the chance to do yet. Here is the tour review: th-cam.com/video/a3OXrQhrhw0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=LmplDnwg5r6Aoi0S
Thank you so much!
Very steady play and an epic short game on show here. Still playing the Srixon ZX4 Mark 2s ? I'm thinking of trying them out 6 - GW.
Yes, I am. Thank you so much!
enjoy these videos where you talk through your play. Really has helped me to think through things as I play. And, it's also provided some insight into what I should be practicing. Great job keeping the wind noise to a minimum, given how windy it looked! BONUS: Best (but most brutal) line I've heard someone say to another in a foursome that was melting down about his bad shots..."You aren't good enough...and this ain't high enough stakes for you to be getting that mad about crap shots"....YIKES.
Some golfers take it far too serious. Try your best and enjoy the day is all you can do. Thank you!
I know some tips that would be helpful. Tips on practicing in a small area; like a house and those that don't have a full size golf simulator or a simulator at all. I know I mentioned before that I live in North Dakota and we have snow for 6 months and don't have the area outside to practice so I concentrate on my putting during the winter months and looking for tips on how to practice wedge shots indoor. I already have a chipping matt and soft golf balls but not a big place to practice. I also concentrate on muscle memory of my swing (with a swing stick, the Swinglogic sim I mentioned before).
Good idea! Thank you!
Also this is your subscriber ErvinC. TH-cam said i had to create a channel to comment and youtube assigned me this user-mb3os5rw7s and I don't know how to change that.@@mistahshorthitter
Thank you so much for subscribing!
Good ol inwood punched greens! Lol. Ran into you last year you gave my buddy and i a free round chip when i saw you filming. Would love to play a round with you this year if youre up for it! Woodruff is damn near in my back yard.
Thank you so much for watching! I think I remember that day. You were on the 13th hole I believe.
@@mistahshorthitter i believe so!
I would like to see you review the Maxfli Tour S. It’s a lower compression 3 piece. I don’t have high swing speeds so Dicks says it’s a good ball and you get price breaks for buying multiple boxes. Thank you
Sounds good! Thank you!
another gem but you are a talented player and a tournament college player and make it look easy perhaps a video of the practice routine howto. it is obvious you put in the time over many years. all of the advise is correct but it takes pratice
Perhaps you mean it differently but your comment makes it seem as if the advice doesn't work without practice. To me talent refers to a natural ability and that is something that I in no way possessed. I am very unathletic and had to work very hard to develop a golf swing that could produce somewhat effective results. I had to work harder than other players and never could develop the speed my competitors did.
Which tip takes practice?
Know/play your dispersion-No
Know your limitations-No
Play Your misses-No
Control Emotions-No
Evaluate Lie-No
Evaluate Weather-No
Play within yourself-No
Commit to every shot-No
Tips that I gave to practice
Short Game-I have a partial video on this on the channel
Lag Putting-I have a video on this on the channel
Can you review the Titleist AVX? Haven’t decided if it is better than ProV
Here you go: th-cam.com/video/_-8XNTUDGDg/w-d-xo.html
I notice you are using a wedge more around the green instead of a hybrid. I like it. I think you need to do a tutorial on wedge play around the green, because we all know that is where strokes are lost more than anywhere else!
Maybe show how rain (moisture in the grass) impacts the club choice (loft) for the shot. I have found that when I commit to a fuller swing with a wedge from the rough, I get a better result. When I have doubt and decelerate, it is almost always a terrible result.
@@brucehanna9473 Thank you Bruce!
you further prove that accuracy is far more important than chasing distance when trying to lower scores
Thank you so much!
I will take your bad round over my good round any day! Balmoral is a tough course and tougher if you game is even slightly off. Like all your recoveries and grinding it out. Next time let us know the clubs your using. Thanks!
Thank you for watching!
I put the clubs in the text on the screen before every shot. Is that what you were referring to?
Your not a short hitter by the yardage you were getting 240-250 yds. A short hitter would only be hitting it 200 yds.
I hope you enjoyed the video!!
@@mistahshorthitter as a low handicapper 4 or 5 handicap from age 17 to 65, hitting it 240-250 yds…
Now 79 hitting the ball 200yds on a good day, 15 handicap now. Any Par 4 further than 380 yds is now 3 to get on the green.
What are you saying?
@@mistahshorthitter I’m saying at 79 I’ve lost 50yds off the tee…I’m not hitting it much further than a woman golfer now.
I was trying to figure out where you got 240-250 yards. In that video I don't remember hitting any drives that far. The Par 5 I went right and took a short cut so that may have seemed further, The 211 yard Par 3 I hit driver short of the pin, I can't remember all the drives but I know the last one I hit was the best drive and it went 215 yards.
