The Greeks named it Mesopotamia, before that it was known as Sumer. I also have a fun fact about the hermit philosopher. It's not a spoiler, it's mostly a fan theory more than anything, but it's about his possible identity so I'll sink it down below just in case . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Most fans think the hermit is supposed to be greek philosopher Diogenes the Cynic, because he slept in an upturned bathtub on the streets of Athens, and the hermit uses one for his bed. There's no official confirmation though as far as I'm aware.
Thanks to you I now have the wonderful mental image of Octavia watching in utter confusion as you leave, muttering "Well if you could vote I would love to have you vote for Galerius but unfortunately we live in a society."
