    Excellent video, i know now why some of my intended kick serves are coming off with slice sometimes- because im opening my shouders too early. Great stuff!

    I would not want to play against your serves, but greatly appreciate your insight on how to effectively execute the Kick Serve!
    The brushing from 7>1 (and 8>2) are the best explanations I’ve seen.. The emphasis on the ball toss is still at Noon (or just slightly behind the left shoulder), correct?
    Cheers from Hawai’i 🤙

    Great breakdown, your first video on serve helped me a lot and this one will as well I’m sure. Do you think it is possible to hit kick serve with continental grip? Or is eastern mandatory

    • @TopTennisTrainingOfficial

      Many thanks 🙏
      It’s absolutely possible to hit the kick serve with the continental grip, many players use that grip. But, some players benefit more from a slight adjustment

    Always interesting... Thanks!
    Concerning the leg drive, do you slightly put more focus (push) on the front or back leg???

    • @TopTennisTrainingOfficial

      Both legs drive equally as much, however, in the loading phase, the body weight can be more on the back leg to facilitate the shoulder drop

    Extremely clever practice tips Thx Simon, most especially on the bent knee. This is a very clever way and love the clever thinking behind how you can develop it yourself. Ultra-high tennis IQ! Keep it up! I was a teenage competitive player in Canada and also a tennis coach back in the late 80's and hung up the racket since then but getting back into it... would be super interested to hear your take on players who are doing what I am... there are many. They play from age 6-9 to 14-18 and then life gets in the way, and many other things come out that are more important. Hang up the racket. Then age 40-50 we come back to the game. What then? How is it different?

    • @TopTennisTrainingOfficial

      Many thanks 🙏
      I’ve worked with many players who went through the same experience.
      Played a lot as juniors, gave up for 10, 20 or 30 years and come back to tennis later on.
      The hand eye coordination is always there. You don’t lose that. However, I’ve found that many of them were taught classical techniques.
      Neutral or closed stances, take the racket back down low, extend towards the target, continental grip for the forehand etc
      It’s almost like a Time Machine watching them play.
      Very often I’d have to teach them the new fundamentals, new grips, new stances, how to create topspin, how to move more efficiently, basically like a systems update from version 1.4 to a 8.2
      The main thing is to enjoy the game and find the love of learning the new systems

    Great video. The only thing I am a little confused about is the description of the contact point on the ball at 4:20 . Which direction are you looking at the ball from as you visualize the clock face?

    Slightly towards the backhand grip of you are a righty for the kick serve is do ATP players use Continental grip??

  • @socrs

    Greetings coach… One problem not mentioned… If you spin from left to right the ball just spins and spins but makes hardly any forward motion. Getting that forward motion on the kick sounds like common sense (hitting more forward), but much harder than it looks. Cheers

    • @socrs

      For any poor souls that have the same issue... If too much spin and not enough forward motion pronate more. That's the key

    Can you do a kick-serve ball toss and show us where it lands (assuming it isn't hit)?

    • @TopTennisTrainingOfficial

      It would land to the left side of the body in general, unless you keep the same toss as usual but adjust your leg drive. And it would land somewhere around the baseline or just behind it if you’re really going for the precise kick serve basics

  • @andreasozzi2538

    Do you use Pure Aero? String and tension? ✌🏻✌🏻😀

    • @TopTennisTrainingOfficial

      Yes I use that frame for now.
      An unknown poly string, tension is between 38-42lbs depending on the weather

    • @andreasozzi2538

      Low low, little control

    • @TopTennisTrainingOfficial

      It depends on the strings. Tight strings don’t require a high tension. Many pros are now using 40lbs and below on the right poly strings. Mannarino uses 18-25lbs at some events.
      Tight strings plus tight tensions = injuries. Players have to hit so much harder to produce power

    • @andreasozzi2538
