HOW Liverpool EXPLOITED Chelsea's Inverted Left Back?

- Salah haunted his former club by exposing the narrow positioning of Gusto and dragging Colwill out wide where he is not comfortable. This in turn isolated Sancho and whilst there was a controversial penalty shout, it led to Maresca having to bring Neto off the bench to try and turn the tide of the game...
We explain in depth how this was achieved and other salient tactical points from the game.

If sancho is a stonewall penalty then so is Salah 👍🏽
Are you blind or daft?
Are you blind or daft?
WDYM? That was never a foul from Salah.
@@Irontechnique603sancho’s one is further away from a foul
darwin had a brilliant game today too. did everything he needed to do to win.
Underrated performance by him agreed
Pull back on Jota was a red. Referee gave into an obvious Reece James dive when Jota was 1v1 with the cb after he was pickpocketed.
Spoke about the sancho pen but not the pull back on jota. Idk if I missed it or you just didn’t mention it but surely thats a red
Trent kept Neto quiet too. Pushing a narrative
That’s complete BS though isn’t it
@@ThePythagorasPerspective Neto looked more dangerous than Sancho but trent didnt get beat 1v1 against either if I remember correctly. I feel like trent is so heavily criticized for his 1v1 defending but yesterday he was solid 1v1 against both of them imo
The pen shout on Sancho WAS reviewed by VAR. They decided it was not enough.
When?
@@mbuyiselijama7383at the time it happened. Was even said on comms
Not true
100% true
Maresca for some reason is persisting with Sancho. He's too limited he made Trent look like Cafu defensively.
Neto needs a couple of games to get used to the team and then he'll fly from there. He gives them running power and 1 on 1 ability.
I think they just need to know when to use in which games. Shouldn’t be one or the other at this moment in time.
We need more playback vids bro really enjoyed it
More to come as the season progresses
Sancho penalty was reviewed briefly, on field decision stood
Don’t think it merited a brief review. An incident like that merits a more in depth investigation imo.
@@ThePythagorasPerspective This is just criticism for the sake of it. VAR was being criticised last season for the length of time it was taking, so they've sped up the process. In this case, the VAR quickly decided it wasn't a clear and obvious error from the ref. Good process. You can disagree with the ref's decision, but calling it "stonewall" is ridiculous, frankly.
VAR has obviously had issues, but continued inaccurate criticism doesn't help. The Sancho penalty incident was reviewed by VAR and they decided there wasn't enough to overturn it. This was mentioned at the time by the commentary.
Palmer's best performances have been against small teams?
Salah aside from the assist had a similar game to palmer.
Liverpool succeeded to entice or lure Chelsea players to pocket Ryan instead their players were being pocketed!!!!
Think we can all agree Liverpool were worried but Maresca messed it up with the lineup. Reece shouldn't have started after so long out. Once I saw the lineup I knew we wouldn't win, this is the 2nd big game where Maresca has overthought it just like his mentor Pep. Our best 11 going forward once everyone is fully fit is
Jackson
Sancho Palmer Madueke
Caicedo Lavia
Cucurella Colwill Fofana Reece
Sanchez
We have players that were suspended... Fofana and Cucurella were unavailable.... The problem was the timing of subs, Nkuku was introduced late.
@@mbuyiselijama7383 Nkunku also should have played centrally--he's not a winger. Plus Neto was getting past TAA easily.
@@mbuyiselijama7383 I know Wes & Cucu were suspended. We needed to just play Veiga to keep the balance, Reece shouldn't have started. The problem was the lineup from the start it wasn't balanced. Not the subs the tactics didn't make any sense either it was like a weird 3-3-4. Gusto was semi inverted. Maresca has done some weird lineups in the 2 big games when in reality had he just continued with the lineup from forest but with Veiga,Tosin,Lavia we would've won. Also Nkunku ain't gonna do nothing bro he's not 9 or a 10 he's like Latauro,Alvarez,Openda he's a second striker he only excels in a front 2. Mudryk,Neto would make more sense.
Worried of who ? 😂😂 U guys are crying over missing cucerela and fofana 😂😂 let that sink in 😂😂
@@NirmanBikramGaire bruv I predicted the game. When I saw the lineup I said we're gonna play semi well but still lose. You guys showed us respect you didn't dominate us. The fact we put that lineup out yet still managed to create chances shocked me. Anfield was quiet you guys thought we'd do something. Facts this L is on Maresca.
Sancho a pen? No
My main issue w the chelsea performance was the ghosting of Cole Palmer, i think it was his worst performance in a blue shirt but if he pulled that goal off by the end of the 1st half i think he would get more in the game mentally. Also not impressed w Tosin in this game and I also think that 2nd goal was both his and sanchez's fault. Sanchez needs upgrading. Give me Maignan and develop Penders meanwhile. Overall happy w the performance, happy to see Reece back, will take time before he gets fully back, but nice to see him out there.
The only centre back who deals well with Salah is Rudiger? [cough] Murillo [cough]
To be fair, it was whoever that nobody was at LB for Forest who kept bodying Mo all afternoon.
@@eazyollie9370ait nouri kept Salah in his pocket all day too
@@eazyollie9370 lb and Murillo that made 2vs1 and odoi making it 3vs1 .
Even game. Chelsea were worth at least a draw.
