    Here I was still using Purified water. **facepalm** If you're making it for yourself, you can probably get away with it, but in the future always used distilled water. I now keep my distilled water in plastic bottles like this because the plastic is more durable and easier to carry if I need to move to a different spot.

      Because of a combination of ingredients, the main one being SCI. But that information is for members of the website. 😉

    Can we make this shampoo without sorbitol and gluconolactone?

      Sure. You don't have to use sorbitol. Sorbitol is just the humectant. You can use another humectant or skip it altogether. Gluconolactone is a preservative. So if you don't use it, please use a different water-soluble preservative you're more comfortable with.
