The guitar they are talking about is from Lead Belly, a black folk/blues singer who died 1949. It was their absolute favorite singer and this song is a cover of his (which is based on two folk songs).
Don't apologize! I've always thought Kurt was one of the most beautiful men ever. Such a talented, sweet soul who was way before his time in his views on so many issues. There's just something about him that no one will ever be able to replace. And yes - he was just incredibly hot without trying and without any ego. Thank you for such a great video.

I love people seeing the beauty of Nirvana for the first time. As a teen in the '90s, Nirvana was a major outlet for me. I was introduced to them in '92, just shortly after the release of Nevermind.
As a pre-teen with a horrid living situation, Kurt was a voice for me. He didn't know me, and still he understood what myself and lot of people were dealing with. When we lost him in '94, it broke a lot of us. He reached a lot of people in such a short time. Kurt, Layne, Chris, Scott. 4 people who painted shaped and painted the canvas for so many, taken too soon.

Just came across your channel at random, you seem very genuine & beautiful.
If anyone wondering who LeadBelly was look him up, he's got quite a story. My dad used to sing this song growing up but it didn't click with me until after he passed away. Leadbelly died in 1949 same year my dad was born so I'm assuming he heard it being played on old FM radio growing up. I remember hearing Nirvana's cover sometime after dad passed and that's when it hit me where I heard the song before. I don't know why I shared this I guess whenever I hear it makes me think of my old man.

Bill Monroe recorded his first version in 1941. Lead Belly's first version was recorded in 1944. It's a good one...and there's many more Nirvana tracks yet to try. They say he killed himself but if you want to learn more about him look it up even the police that investigated his death now even say they rushed it and should have looked into it closer cause things don't add up. And he hopes someone will do what he didn't. Courtney Love came up with a big plan to have Kurt killed put herself into rehab so the blame couldn't be put onto herself, she went into not long before they found him and was still doing drugs in the rehab. The PI she hired to look into Kurt's disappearance before he was found dead even says she did it. Her own father thinks she had something to do with it. There was even a guy that was killed about a week after saying, she would pay him $50,000 to kill Kurt but he said no. Every time I listen to this song I think he was talking about Courtney and that she was cheating on him. That one look when he exhales says it all it's so haunting.
