That pause and look in his eyes is chilling because not too much longer after this performance he killed himself. That expression in his eyes is almost like, "This is it".

This is one of those performances that you need to see to get. Kurt embodies this song. His facial expressions are haunting.

Yup. There's a reason everybody wears Nirvana shirts. It's so easy to write off a band as overblown when you see them everywhere, but in this case it's entirely deserved. They were actually that fucking good. Kurt Cobain was one of the most honest and raw musicians who ever lived. Nobody can touch the passion that he had or the way that it came through in how he played and sang. The word "haunting" just, but only just begins to describe it. It was true also in how he lived and how he died. Legend. I also think that though he came from punk rock he always saw himself as a blues singer. This is a blues song written a long time ago by a blues singer and it's like Lead Belly wrote it with the knowledge that it would be one day sang in this way. This is one genius honoring the legacy of another from many generations before. This was the last song in the last set they ever played for a reason. Cobain and Lead Belly are tied to each other through their freaking souls. The whole concert was like this. They could have just played their own hits, but instead they played mostly other people's songs and begged the crowd to listen, really listen, because this is where they came from. That's what kind of band Nirvana was. They honored their heroes, not themselves.

On March 1, 1994, Nirvana's Kurt Cobain, Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic played their last ever gig together - at Terminal Einz in Munich. Just over a month later, Cobain, the band's 27-year-old lead vocalist and songwriter, was found dead at his Seattle home.

It’s a murder ballad. Listen to Louvin Brothers “Knoxville Girl.” Another great one in the canon of murder ballads. (I know this sounds messed up, but blues and early country are full of these.)

Would love to see more Nirvana on the channel! Its crazy that they all doubted their ability to pull this off because of Kurt being so sick from withdrawals, they had little practice and no rehearsal, no experience in acoustic settings, (they made Dave practice drums with twizzlers, because he kept banging on the drums too hard😂),and at the end of the day, this was one of the most iconic live performances to ever take place. This Unplugged performance is one you need to watch in full from start to finish after you finish doing whatever individual reactions you want to do. (Doing the entire performance in a live with us would be pretty awesome too)

The entire performance is worth watching.
I like how Kurt says "F**k you, this is the last song." Before they start playing.

I'm white born in 66 in Dearborn Michigan.
My dad and mom loved music. Great depression era kids they were. My dad was a life long pianist. He could sight read music and buying sheet music to play on the FAMILY piano was his thing.
He loved everything music from Cole Poter, Elvis, Billy Preston, Miles Davis, Johnny Cash, Ella Fitzgerald...
He even loved my eventual metal guitar. Along with that my older brothers were into the Beatles, grand Funk, moody blues, Allman brothers, Hendrix, clapton,.....
As a white dude that grew up in the whitest of white family i cannot comprehend my brothers of color not being exposed to "white boy music".😢
Yall missed out on so much.
I remember bringing home the Heatwav's album, too hot to handle and playing for my dad on the console stereo system.
We listened to the entire album together.
    His reaction?
"Wow. Those guys are tighter than a tailored jock strap.....let me show you some James Brown."
