Great video coverage of the Vision Pro...unique touch to it all your own, which I appreciate! After you picking up the "loot", I loved the note on the side of the duffel bag "Not the Vision Pro (do not rob pls)"
Another awesome video! I put my Bose QC ultra headphones on, and I got the full effect of the spatial audio. I lovehow the visuals reflect in the water below the screen. The deal breaker for me (aside from the price) is the lack of a social movie watching experience like Bigscreen as well as more games. I know the games will come, but the Quest 3 is the perfect device for me at this time.
Thanks Mike! I’m still exploring but my first impression is that it doesn’t do a lot (yet), but the things it does, it does pretty well. With that said I’ve still been finding myself putting on the Quest at the end of the day to play games
A lot of people have been having FOV issues and its because the app isn't sizing people right. I was fitted with a size 32 light seal and had the same problem. Took it back to an Apple Store and after trying a few different light seals, I swapped it out for a 21W and my FOV is now the exact same as my Quest 3.
@@rzival comfort was maybe a little bit better, but marginally at best. It’s still a very heavy unit. The FOV on the other hand was night and day. I was ready to return and wait for gen 2 because I thought it was borderline unusable. Amazing tech and great screens, but the FOV was ruining the experience and I expected better for $4K. After trying the other light seals, at the advice of the Apple Store worker, that fixed it for me. I definitely recommend everyone having FOV issues try the smaller light seals if you can to see if they fit you, especially if your size is in the high 20s - 30s.
i feel like if i went from the Quest 2 to Vision Pro, I wouldn't mind the weight so much. But since I had gotten used to the Quest Pro (technically heavier but more balanced), putting the Vision Pro on just doesn't feel the best. I'm tolerating it though, and I assume most people are, because a lot of us are already used to wearing some sort of headset. As for FOV, I'll definitely visit the stores and try on other light seals!
3:24 Wow you are the first to do that! Which it does make more sense then not having it and looks as good as the quest 3's version of that... Though can you grab with the offhand and poke scroll with your primary hand like quest 3 can now do? I find it helps with interfacing with the UI without feedback.
is that part of v62, or has that been around and I just didn't realize? I tried it with the AVP and didn't work. Also, have you tried viewing spatial videos on the Quest yet?
@@rzival I have not yet the update is taking it's sweet time... So it was before as I don't have the update yet but could have been at the same time they added poking when you have controllers though oddly no multi figure interaction with the UI yet... Also hand tracking has gotten much better overall since launch like know it's much easier to grab the menu.
7:33 Interesting with my sennhizer HD600s and DTS X for headphones and was spaced out rather simply like where are my echos in the montians for exemple? But was also backwards I heard it in my front then suddenly to my left then suddenly to my back then suddent to my Right then suddenly to my front... Like it was backwards from what you would think... Though through my $100 Boos sound bar with DTSX Ultra both are spatial softwear run on a top of the line soundchip from 2021 it was normal though still simple.. I mean most mainstream media since they got stereo have more complex effects. Like I was atleast expecting modern Battlefield entries levels of depth and complexity not well baby's first stereo music mix. Also I did try with the softwear off same and yes they were on correctly I checked a few times.
Whoops had the wires swapped my bad but yeah the Soft wear also made the sound more defined and less a massive bloob which is impsive on DTS. Which I feel the real spatial audio is with the AVP's open ears and how it can give some an audiophile experience with an XR headset... However I feel Meta and most others have always done this maybe less quality but still.
LOL at baby's first stereo music mix. I'd agree, it's not necessarily ground breaking but I think they nailed the little details in the environments. The sounds of frogs in the distance, the rainfall, wind, etc. I remember watching the developer videos where they touch on the sound aspects of the environments and talk about how they would go out into remote areas and record sounds day/night to try and get them right
Thanks DS! And oh trust me I tried, I changed the T&T like 5 times 😂 but the Vision Pro topic has just been sooo saturated it’s impossible to compete with the big influencers. It’s ok tho I feel like most of the things that should be said about AVP has been said (so far). But thank you for the kind words!!
Damn the avatar thing looks exactly like how the characters in Forbidden Siren 1 look so shes definitely not far off by saying it looked like it came from a PS1 game hahaha Funnily enough for that game the dev team used the specific technique they used to make the faces look uncanny.
Epic outstanding video! Like you a fellow small channel made a video showing the real device in all it's um aplleness that no other tuber/apple has great job!... As for my takes I'll make a new video after this 5 parter/watching other tubers/acually seeing the headset IRL as I do have an apple store nearby just in a bad spot... To see if my opitions have changed or not as they haven't I still think people should try the quest 3 first and only then try this if the don't need all of the things and just an iPad on their face... which I don't see how if someone is bothered by the passthough the AVP would be much better for them especly they could get a 3rd gen AR gales like XREAL Air 2 Pro for $450 as honestly it being a legit display replacement does all the AR stuff AVP and quest 3 do just at 300 or so grams half the weight of AVP and look like normal glasses... It's honestly for most AVP buyers that don't need 4k but do need micro OLED like AVP... So yeah I thought I knew who AVP was for but now not so much great device zero audience beyond those who want it to want it.
thanks Der! have you gone to the Apple store yet to demo? And agree, I've only had this for a week but I'm still not at a point where I would recommend the AVP to anyone given the price. It's impressive, but Quest still offers better value (could change my mind after a month though). I won't have the data to back this up but I bet a lot of people will post videos some time next week called "Why I'm Returning My Apple Vision Pro" or something similar, just before the return window closes.
VP looks legit and will/have already become the baseline/standard for VR or spatial computing 😅. I have stirred away from the apple ecosystem since the iphone5 days...so the VP wont be something ill buy anytime soon. But happy that the lazy as$es @ meta will finally maybe put in more efforts on their UI and hardware to compete. And also cant wait for google, microsoft, samsung, and others to release their own headsets.
i'm definitely the happiest about mainstream competition because as you said, it'll force the others to step up their game. I ultimately am not loyal to one brand. I'll take whoever gives us the best headset 😅
@@rzival i might go test it out @ the apple store one of these days....when less people are crowding the demo units. Wish i could afford it. 1k-1.5k i might have considered. I just want that clarity of the screen 🥺
definitely go try it out! i never did the in-store demo bc i didn't want my first impressions to be too curated but i'd recommend that others give it a try just to get a feel of it. And oh man $1-1.5k would've been such a sweet spot. I feel like they priced this so high to make the next cheaper version a lot more attractive

how big of a difference was it for you? and did it only affect the FOV, or also comfort?

Yeah if you bring a window close enough it basically lets you reach out and use it like an iPad.
is that part of v62, or has that been around and I just didn't realize? I tried it with the AVP and didn't work. Also, have you tried viewing spatial videos on the Quest yet?
it's clutch because relying on eye tracking can actually feel exhausting after a bit (at least for me)

This needs WAY more views. Try a title and thumbnail change? The quality of the video can’t be causing it! Solid intro!
