I just bought one with the i7 13700hx and an rtx 4070, runs all games at max settings and I mostly play at 1080p or 1440p, this thing is a beast and I feel like the speakers are fine, im not a headphone guy so they are good enough for me, but over all it is a great gaming laptop!

Dude, I have the Predator rtx 2060 17 inch. That laptop is so reliable even after 4 years. Performance power build quality never given me any headache.
I have the gtx 1060 Helios 300 from ages ago and still LOVE it!! I'm absolutely in love with Acer laptops I really don't get why it gets hate sometimes.

I was wondering why this thing looked familiar. This one looks nearly identical to last year's Helios 300. Though, it is rather odd that the Helios 16 at home, this thing, has more reviews before the actual Helios 16
I've had a few Acer products over the years and they've all done an adequate job for the price point, even the netbook I had (remember those?).
I still have an Acer aspire netbook that works
@@corey7219 SSDs were becoming a thing when I had mine. I swapped out the HDD and couldn't believe the difference in performance (by netbook standards). It was a fun little device.
I have an Aspire from 2016 still going strong, and a 2060 Helios from 2021. I would buy another Acer

Got mine all set up. Mainly use it if for school but occasionally find myself playing through hi-fi rush. Looks amazing.
Thanks to you I bought the Legion 5 Pro Gen 7 and it's AMAZING. Windows 11 was a pain tho but luckily switching to Windows 10 while keeping the essential Lenovo apps.
I agree, legion 5 pro is a beast. but why would you downgrade from windows 11 to 10? most apps work on 11 now and its like moving from ios 16 to ios 8🤣
@@morganvici6543 It's Microsoft we're talking about here. Windows 11 looks nice but functionally worse. There's extra steps to do most things, and having a Microsoft account is mandatory. It's unstable and things are just slow. Unlike Apple's OS, Windows OS gets bad every other version, Vista after XP was bad, Win 8.1 after Win 7 was bad and Win 11 after Win 10 is bad.
EqAPO and HeSuVi didn't exactly work on Windows 11 either. My laptop ain't a slouch with Ryzen 7, 3070 and 32GB Ram and moving back to 10 made it feel so much faster and everything worked better.
People just say its bad because because they are used to the previous os. And windows 11 isn't unstable anymore.
@@beefycroissant6485 Not from my experience. I wanted to like it. It looks good and I like the file tabs even though it wasn't as useful as I'd like it to be. Installing the official Microsoft Office somehow made the right click create txt file option disappear completely. Trying to get it back just removed the office options. So I still couldn't create a text file. Based on how responsive Windows 10 is when I went from Windows 11. There's still some work needed on Windows 11. Friends I know who use Windows 11 have odd yet simple problems, not being able to print on one laptop and having lag on another laptop.

Got this laptop a month ago for only $999 (rtx4060 I5-13500HX 1440p) and it's great except for the fan noises and heavy weight, sometimes the PredatorSense doesn't work for me, ig I should move it to startup apps to fix it

@@flagmachine may depend on your area, got mine at a physical store. They had both the i5/4050 and i5/4060 variants in the store I went in. The 4060 model was 1260 USD (70k php) though it did come with the predator chair, bag, +8gb ddr5, and 126 USD (7k php) worth of vouchers/gift checks.

I just got one of these and am actually watching the video on it. I love this computer so much! It is so powerful.
bought i7+4060 version based on reviews. One important point which reviews dont mention is if you are coming from dell inspiron or lenovo experience, you will find the keyboard small and cluttered for typing and it will be learning curve for fast typers who dont look at keys to type. Its like the laptop is intended for arrow keys and AWSD key usage only. num pad is as well too small and congested.
How's the performance so far? I'm planning to buy the same variant as yours.

Why are there no screws on the battery lol ? Some other reviewer pointed it out that the battery was just floating there in the system. I came here to check if he had a faulty unit. But in this video aswell, the battery is not screwed down to anything 😂

I just got a legion slim 5i with i713700H and rtx 4060. I gotta say im pretty disappointed. Not with the build quality, thats great but the performance is games is very microstuttery. I returned it. Should I get the acer predator helios neo 16 😂? Is it smooth gameplay?
I got this and I have kept it at 1440p the whole time. Grated im not playing games like cyberpunk but I alwasy keep around 180-190 fps
Is the build overall build quality good?
Like does the hinges not break after a year or two of usage?
From another video I saw the hinges work great and are pretty sturdy

hey legion has full control over cpu , gpu wattage , fan speed in there vantage software and the best thing i like is conservative mode where battery doesnt charge and laptop runs directly from power supply. it helps keep battery life good i keep my battery charge at 60 and use this mode

I have the 13500 hx and rtx 4050 variant. i must say, it keeps up with my other rtx 4060 laptop.
still using the 2021 rtx 3060 helios 300. havent had any problem yet beside i needed to change the battery once.

@matthew .. any idea sir.. when we are going to finally see gaming laptops with USB-c based charging and with a heavy duty graphics cards and CPU specs.. ideally we see USB-c based charging adapters only on business laptops..

Afaik, USB-C charging technology is currently limited to 140 watts, though I read somewhere that the newer 2.1 version can go upto 240 watts which can support beefier machines.

@andreiboamfa6225 if you want to play regular games that don't need too much requirement and play below 70 degrees, this is the perfect laptop. But also on best buy has a asus tuf rtx 4070 for 980, but that laptop temperature reaches over 90 degrees and you feel that your fingers are burning. You choose what you want

I just got a predator Helios neo 16, inherited from my dad, I do not want or need the predator sense application on it. Can I uninstall predator sense without losing any performance things on the computer? I literally need this for work only, Microsoft Word, outlook, and I don't want the gaming.
Can I safely remove that? My battery doesn't seem to last very long either, in my opinion. Dad bought the computer only about three months ago.
Are there any other apps I can remove with it, ones that are continuously running in the background, but are not necessary to make the computer work properly? Thank you for any help!

Got the i713500hx 4060 16gbddr5 1tb ssd US model from best buy. Anyone know if this exact model in the video has any problems. Been using it for 3 days so far, i havent had any issues. Predator sense may be a little bit glitchy tho, if I was you, i would get the legion cause the legion is very reliable and has customer support.

I think you should put the raw fan noise video for a comparison cause some of us wouldn't understand the decibal format, but great review nevertheless
Even if I put raw fan noise its not going to sound the same unless you hear it in person. Maybe ill put a chart up to give you an idea of different sounds that mimic each decibel range
