Burn doesn't hurt, only feels a bit warm, and quickly heals, rarely peeling. I don't even own sunscreen now, despite spending lots of time outside in the sun. If i did make this stuff, I'd probably only need it 2x a year at best.
same way. I noticed that when I was cutting wood. Normally I burn almost instantly, it hurts and I peel like crazy. This last spring I didn't burn at all despite being in direct sun for hours a day and I'm pasty white everywhere but my arms and face. Normally my scalp peels really bad but I didn't have any peeling this year at all.

I just buy lotion from the store now a days but I have made it completely from scratch in the past. I don't have ratios but to get it to rub in and not be a visible white coating just add incremental amounts to whatever lotion you are using. Only adding a teaspoon at a time. Mix and try it out. It is very easy to add too much that leaves white on your skin when you apply. So just mix it in sparingly and test it out as you go.

The efficacy of this type of homemade sunscreen has been debunked years ago.
I make my moisturizer with avocado oil and tallow. If you like a fragrance just use your favorite essential oil. You can add a little zinc to make a sunscreen.
Yes a friend of mine got in my car covered in it… it smelt gross, I told him get the f out and wash that shit off, I don’t want my car smelling of tallow !!

I truly don’t wish any ill upon nobody but it will be interesting to see what will happen to ppl that does this in the future, specially what they look like.
Please don't try this it's not safe and will not protect you from the sun; our OZ government would never recommend anything like this, you need formulations that go through the proper testing.

Use beeswax instead of zinc oxide and you can make a moisturizer as well. At least that's what I do.
