Randy, I am lucky enough to have a swan carving that you did. Thank you for signing the back as well as explaining the significance of the swan. Take care!
Thank you Randy, I am an aging (72 years) clinical psychologist. I believe I have a Coast Salish heart. I am covered in Coast Salish tattoos. I just discovered your You Tube videos and believe that in the 2-3 segments I watched, you put my therapeutic philosophy into e few well chosen words. I am also a continually learning carver of Coast Salish designs. You have helped me immensely. I will be back, along with my totems the Orca, the Raven, the Heron, and the Moon. I feel like I have made a new friend. Mike Webster
When you said that you would explain what the animals and the meaning of the carvings and put it some were on the back of the peice. I think that's the smartest thing I've ever heard because I feel that the true meaning and and the purpose of each carving and the diferant situations that they are used for is completely lost on today's generation myself included.you would be doing your fellow artists and peoples huge respect sharing this information with us and would help us to understand and appreciate better thanks
Hi Randy, great video, thanks for sharing. I recently saw another video of an elder making a steam bent plank box, in the vid they showed his steam pit, water boiling with the use of hot rocks. I am very eager to learn more about this steam pit method and was wondering if you also have knowledge of this? thanks again for your vid.
I saw your tools in the tool bag. They remind me of days when I had not.I took and ground end shaped them to my liking. Then I had.I have carved many bowls with them. I even cut a hole clean threw one. I didnt get mad. Did I mention I am a bit of a mad man. Carving is gods time with me. Sometimes the only time I am me is when I carv. Keep it up . You are welcome at my fire always.
