How to make people feel better 101:
1) Make them feel much worse
2) Return to the way it was before that.
Exactly!! Also creators have to say good things about the game, even if they are not getting paid by EA, which a doubt… if the game is not good, creators don’t make money! So, no, not buying this f1 2018 patch!
@@Felipe7MoraisAlex has been vocally critical…now he is not…seems pretty honest to me

like F1 2019 proceeding until F1 22, then F1 23 😂
I’m honestly not sure who to believe, whilst the E sports drivers are saying this isn’t a monumental improvement, they also don’t drive the game realistically in the slightest and it’s literally their job to exploit the game, be efficient as possible and expect the car to do things an F1 car just shouldn’t be able to do because… lap time, but on the other hand you can never tell with individual content creators on where the handling actually stands because they each prefer individual things, some come from Iracing or ACC, whilst some strictly play F1, so there’s varying levels of what to expect from each creator, but from what I’m visually seeing, the car looks a lot more tracked, and can now actually be pushed, the front end looks to grip up a lot better and it now seems the car is driven on the rear instead of being driven 100% on the nose like before, but push it too far in one direction and it will start to massively understeer
Esports drivers are right. They know what's closest to real life. Some of them have driven real formula cars
@@zinedinezidane8398 exactly, don't know about others but Jarno have real racing experience and if I remember it correctly he was driving Formula Renault.
So 100% they know better than casual player and maybe even better than real F1 drivers for only one reason - the game never was and propably never will be a full sim.
It was said developers were consulting with Max on this year handling model and look how it end up.
@@zinedinezidane8398 some of them absolutely do, Jarno is a Spanish F4 vice champion and Lucas Blakeley races in GB4, but the difference is a lot of them don’t approach the game in a realistic fashion, if anything it works in their favour for the game to not be realistic, realism would probably hamper F1 Esports because they wouldn’t be able to exploit the game and gain time due to the physics or the physical off the track effects being non existent, if you tried stuff like the E sports in reality you’d end up backwards and in the wall the moment the tyre hits the surface change and can’t tack up
F1 24 lands in-between ACC and Lego2K Drive
@@notthefia9154 All you proved is that they have real life experience in cars that don't even remotely handle like modern F1 cars... Neither of them has underfloor ground effect experience. The best people to ask is literally the people who race them, build them and design them. No one else can really have a say because it's quite simply bullshit
Main thing of this patch will be that it will be a bit more bearable but there will still be major issues with handling post patch
Not to mention the inability to select wet tyres in f2 and in some cases f1, the games a mess
@@css8636 that’ll be fixed, did u even read what the devs said? This patch isn’t just for handling
@@keeganstcroix6865 well I seen something that the wet tyres bug was under investigation on the bugs list, which was dated 5th June. That tells me that it’s not yet solved and in this upcoming patch
I hope it's still quite pointy. F1 cars are supposed to be pretty compliant with tons of grip when doing mid to high speed corners. More tricky at low speed corners where the downforce is no longer 800+ kg (1700lbs) pushing down on the tires at 100mph.
2022 reg cars are known to not be compliant due to ride height requirement. But I’m fine if they are not replicating that in the game. As James Allison said he thinks even Max in a winning Red Bull doesn’t really enjoy the lack of compliance.
Yes they should be very compliant. But...they should be compliant from the rear too. The rear should seem planted. But in this new update it seems to kick out very easily
F1 23 handling was so good man they didn’t have to completely change it
Exactly. That's what is so upsetting about it. It's not like we're coming from F1 22, which was terrible. No, were coming from a really good game. Like wth? Why not keep a very similar handling to last year? A system everyone liked
@@doubleboy2388 fax.
Handling in 2023 was disgusting. Handling has been shit since the last gen cars (F1 2021 had great handling but was cluttered with bugs unfortunately).
@@DiktaturenF1 you don’t know what you talking about you probably a low level skilled driver
@@doubleboy2388No F1 23 was still horrible... No traction in low gears acceleration even in a straight line... Horrible understeer like the car had no aerodynamics... F1 24 the car finally resembles an F1 car...
People are fucking clueless about what an F1 car is and how insane aerodynamics it has
Those who complained about the luanch handling never had a chance to try the beta that was avaliable mid-May. I'm not saying the launch handling is great but it was miles better than what beta players were driving.
Yeah definitely. The first beta was horrible
the weird lateral sliding once u stop steering was so fucking annoying
That's Fn crazy. What the hell were the developers thinking??
Seems like that the car engine sound has also been changed
The Aston sounds the best other than that I can't believe how atrocious it' sounds I don't even know what that noise is coming from the Ferrari it sounds worst than. F1 1989 of outrun on the Atari
Why is it so hard to make as realistic as possible? This is the only licensed F1 game! Give us modes to choose from: arcade and realism. Jeez
It's not the only licensed F1 game. There is still F1 managet
@@edk1124as if you can drive your own car in f1m
Or just make it a full sim, with the assists casual players would play it without any problem, the f1 cars in Iracing are easier to drive than the f1 game…the thing is, codemasters/EA are not capable to make a decent sim!
they want to milk money from naive people every year and make casual players who would be bad in real sim to feel like gods with unrealistic grip levels
So now after this you can say the game is headed to the right direction
I returned f1 24 on steam after 2 hours. When more people make videos on the handling, ill consider getting it again when its on sale
All the non sweats liked the handling. The only people that cried are sweat content creators.
Love the videos as of recently! Have you ever thought about using an eye tracker with overlay or maybe just talking about how far ahead you're looking during and throughout the corners. Working on improving my times and watching your videos has really helped! Thanks for the useful insight and telemetry display to help get my mind into trail braking and throttle management!
I have thought about it in the past but never followed through with it. It would be cool!
@@AlexGillonGaming i agree! I can sort of make out the direction and timing but it’s hard to judge how far ahead you’re looking! Regardless great videos, and good job on the P2 for the first race of creator series!
David Grecko, the guy who created the 23 game handling fixed this games handling and send it to Dani Bereznay, Mercedes F1 esports driver. Watch his video, it's a way better handling than this "fixed" handling
So what I got from this entire video is that,, It's still sharp but it doesn't feel as sharp. That's good enough for me I'll take it
But I really hope they didn't change controller because controller was a lot more better than the wheel on the old patch And a lot of casual players enjoyed it, I’ve been playing every F1 game since F1 2009 and F1 23 felt horrible on a controller. I really hope it’s still better regardless of the patch.
This is so far from the truth. I've been playing since 2019. On controller. And the 23 game felt amazing. I was top 2-3%. Very competitive. On this game, it feels awful. And I'm not competitive at all. Nowhere even close to where I was last year and previous games as well.
@@doubleboy2388 2019-2023 has been the worst for controllers so I feel you, but I speak truth. Old 24 handling was like old Xbox 360 f1 games till F1 2014 messed it all up. F1 2017 was great for controller handling and 21 too In some cases.
Experience comes a long way, but don’t let all esports players cloud judgement on your play style. We all play differently and I respect your opinion mate I truly do.
Does this mean you can run 360 steering angle again?
Do we know when this patch might arrive for everyone to have access to it? Looks much better here and very happy to hear that they've worked on many of the key bugs as well.
I have an update queued on my Steam now.
The main problem for me on controller is that with current handling when trying to take a corner at the right speed such as sector 2 brazil turn 1-3 brazil sector 3 abu Dhabi it won't turn properly unless you got a lot slower than you should be able to. Is the potential for that issue to be fixed. I have tried multiple set ups and settings nothing works normally
Limitless said that they changed the gear ratios in the patch, so that may be why it feels like you have more top-end speed
they are hearing the community and players, tweating the handling is the better way than dropping everything. When they get the ERS trains and curbs problem fixed, then I'm gonna get the game.
From the way it’s being described it seems they have fixed it exactly how I wanted them to. It just needed fixes in the slow speed and a slight tone down on the initial sharp turn in. This sounds like it’s a lot closer to what you get in sims like AC and iRacing.
Does Dirty Air have an bigger effect in F1 24 on the handling, when you try to follow an other car? And does it influence the tyre wear more? Because in the old games i did not really feel the torbulent air. It would be better to be more realistic or at least to have the option to adjust between realism oder more arcade in the menu settings. In Reality the drivers loose more downforce, even its getting worse since last year because the cars habe generally more downforce, so it's worse than in 2022, when they introduced the ground effect cars.
I have the feeling you get more understeer when following, especially in medium speed corners. It seems more significant than last year.
Dirty air is really strong this year it makes the car significantly more unpredictable
@@antve1618 Ah okay. That sounds good. An is the AI effected by the dirty air as well? So are they having the same problems with the handling? Or ist that effect only by the player himself?
Hi Alex, just wondering if you send your feedback to the developers? Do they reach out and ask you? Also don't you think it's odd a company releasing a product doesn't have testers doing this work for them pre-release?
Good stuff. Gives me hope.
If they can make the front end less arcade and lower overall grip/downforce levels it will be much better.
At this point I believe Codies has the handling dialed in with Pro and Esports drivers cause it sounds nice in advertisement.
Players then notice that's not a fun way to drive so it's changed again.
They HAD to change the handling as a "reason" to charge people FULL PRICE for a game that we already had 98% of! Tell me what "major" update over F1 23 is F1 24 offering that warrants paying for a "FULL PRICED" game... when it literally could have been a "patch"...
So why does evryone else disagree with you then?
ESports drivers look for different things than Content Creators.
ESports are looking competitively
Content Creators look for fun

I haven’t updated f1 24 yet so I can analyze the handling… For the most part I like it, even tho it felt wierd at the start. High speed tracks like Silverstone feel nice but Monaco is a nightmare. Haven’t tried Baku yet but I remember it being wayy to slidy in f1 23, and the tire wear feels better too because last year I would go from the fastest car on track to the slowest within a few laps on 100% races. I play on controller tho, and I’m gonna have to update it sooner or later so im starting to get worried.
Also I would like to add that having my front left tire at 50% wear and all the rest 10-15% doesn’t seem realistic to me. Sure there’s graining irl but I don’t think it’s in this game.
Anyone got a review of how this patch affects pad?
Even if the new handling is better i think the damage has been done they bring out the Game in a Beta or Alpha Phase thats simply shocking Beta testers Said the handling needs a Patch since the very 1st Beta week that was in April i believe and they waited Till creators and esport driver Test the Game 1 week before Launch and what Happens everyone says its unrealistic and they started then to Patch the handling if they listen to the Beta Testers we wouldnt Even have to Talk about the handling and wait for a update imo unacceptable bring the Game out 2 weeks later with the new handling and everyone is happy so its just a rip off if they start working if the Money is there thats how it Looks Like … i Hope that Game Reviews actually say when they tested the Game because ea and Codies shouldnt get good Reviews for a unfinished to early Release Game that for years now changes the handling in the 1st Month because they Push the Release everytime to early
for me they need to make small amendments to the battery the ai use in things like career modes. this is because i can litterally be on near enough monza level wings with some rake on the rife height and the ai will be like 20 kph faster than me without drs and while im in their slipstream. so a few other small amendments to be made but all in all i dont think theres anything else that needs major changes
I want to be positive and see this as a step forward to a better and realistic handling.
After all they responded to all our critiques pretty fast and, even tho it still looks unrealistic af, it's at least better than before.
They also said they'll keep working on it during the next months so I'm really hopeful that they can fix this mess, but definitely not sure they will.
I've seen lots of videos but didn't buy the game this year, I think F1 24 is just a test ground for the new handling engine and that F1 25 will be the first decent game eith actual realistic handling.
How can I have that telemetry up the HUD
I play on a pad but I find the handling horrendous on the new game. Hopefully when this update comes it'll improve. And hopefully they sort the ERS bug and increase laps on ranked
How's the lock up problem now? Better?
Is the Patch fixing the AI and no DNFs? Tests the biggest issue for casual career Mode Players
And the tire glitch with the wet tires
That issue is listed as "awaiting patch" in the forums so hopefully it will be on the next one.

the patch has made the game worse especially for controller users just dumb so i guess the streamers get what they want and everyone else can go to hell
Shouldn't the be more focused on realistic driving simulation i think the Shouldn't listen to feedback from esport racing 😂
The should listen to feedback from real f1 drivers and mechanics
Lando norris did say that driving a real f1 car in the wet is drift mode so for him its more realistic
4:53 bruh... lol
Alex Please be honest- do you prefer handling in 23 or 24?
He mentioned in the video that it’s better than 23, and he liked 23
I dont have the game but the suspension is sus. It's too bouncy. Not stiff enough. But changing that too much might create more issues
This is great news. What overlay are you using?
It’s called race labs but the overlay in the video is payed
Lol... EA messed up big time and now they are the heroes for improving the game a bit 🤦🤦🤦
Pepperidge Farm remembers.
Bro be happy they’re improving it and they’re doing it fast. They got more to do but every game I play needs patches now. To be honest their biggest issue is they need to start over with a new engine. Preferably Unreal.
Honestly.. i expected more.. it is more like they tweeked it.. it's probaply better yes but.. is it as huge as people say? Because if i look at the steering rates it is still a bit unrealistic.. bus stop chicane should nearly be full lock
Oh stop fuckin moaning 🥱
If the mass majority of players preferred f1 23 handling whyd the change it? They should have just tweaked it to add the suspension stuff in and improve on that. There is no need to constantly change things completely when it is already working
Controller feels like f1 2019 this year so shit. f1 23 was so perfect on controller
should just revert to f1 23 handling now
The handling is the LEAST of the issues with this game.
Sure, the handling isn’t perfect but for a “casual” player I don’t find it as horrendous as people are saying.
My biggest concern in the game is the inexcusable issues that would have easily been found and solved with proper play testing.
The fact that a wet race forces you to start on dry tires, the AI then runs as if the track is dry while you burn out the inter/wets you put on at the end of lap one to only gain a couple of seconds a lap on the AI, is disgraceful and should be the absolute first priority for the devs to fix. The current handling won’t get me to stop playing, the first wet race I get in my F1 career will in the current state of the game.
The AI runs soft tires in sprint quali when the rules state mediums.
Running an entire F2 season without a single VSC, safety car, red flag or retirement is a joke.
Thumb nail says game changer your report says not perfect which ones is it Alex ???
I hope they sort the driver career soon
Do you think it will be good to drive on a pad?
Problem now is to fix the HUGE AI problem (that screw up career mode as much (if not more) than handling…
When's this update out ?
Tommorow friday the 7 of june
Why couldn't they just make minor improvements on the handling model of F1 23 for the new game? F1 23 was enjoyable to drive
Sounds like the patch is fixing most big issues, I’ll try the game once it’s out. And about what E-Sports drivers say, they might want to lobby in their own interests. I‘m far from esports but on F1 2021 I was fastest, so if I were an esports driver, of course I’d want that handling back.
Why does that engine sound like an rc car?
Then ask ea why can't I use the no.1 when I win the championship
They should make a patch to readjust the HUD. Man, this HUD is awful
YES PLEASE 😢
Agree, back to f1 23 hud. Nothing wrong with it
I do not use the HUD so I can care less lol
thats great but a more important thing they should be looking into is the bugs. The handling wasn't game breaking, the bugs are and can be.
The patch will also include bug fixes
They also gonna be fixing the big bugs
i love the handeling right now
idk why they changed the steering, the steering was perfect. No need to have changed it, lets hope it barley changed
Do you think controller players can be competitive now?
It seems like they do this every year where the game releases with terrible handling and then they change it.
2:35 so they still didn't fix the tyre pressure... 💀
"Lower tire pressure also contributes to higher tyre temperatures"
Should be opposite and before someone say it's not true because games like AC and F1 are like that, then ask real racing engineers and see what they say.
You don't need to be a race engineer to know that less tire pressure increases temperature. More grip = more friction = more heat.
Hey you stole that from Jarno opmeer lol
So basically because people that use a wheel to play which as much as they dont like it they are the minority here they go do an update which will 100% completely wreck how the game plays with a gamepad.
I dont care about the handling . I want them to fix the AI and the the bugs . Also i want them to add engine failures for the AI and make the AI make mistakes
EA did you wrong, did the community wrong and all will be forgotten in a few days. Community never learns
Honestly, E sports drivers are the last people I’m listening too. Nothing about what they do is close to realistic
When will it be released ???
If you watched the video, he states he cant say.
F1 23 was the best handling system that F1 games ever had. With the current model in F1 24 (the one everyone has access to) that F1 22 had better handling, and i stopped playing F1 22 halfway through the year to go back to F1 2021. If F1 24 even gets close to F1 23 then I'll be happy but I highly doubt F1 24 will be better than F1 23
I hope you're right
The MX5 in iracing has more grip than the f1 cars in f1 24. Gt3 cars in ACC, an actual sim, have more grip than the f1 cars in f1 24. My fuckin shoes have more grip than the f1 cars in this not a sim called f1 24. This update ruined the game. They should undo it, and never listen to any influencers ever again
I loved the handling, but i guese im in the minority. I played f1 2010 to current and i enjoyed it. Game career mechanics and Ai needs to improve, like thats putting it politely. I like the ideas of the career but how its implemented and how buggy it is shocking
"hE IS GeTTInG paID by EA"
Yeah, except he's been shitting on the game since before it even launched. But, sure, he's a shill.
Finally someone said it 😂
It’s funny how everyone know what an F1 car feels like, I think it is what it is, esports or no esports, we hear the real F1 drivers saying the cars are too big and clunky, they can’t change that they have to work around it, I just want the closest experience to F1 I could careless how it’s feels because that’s f1.
As for the kerbs listen I seen Charles Leclerc attacking the kerbs in Imola like they stole his pasta, I couldn’t do that in 23 without bottoming out and going wide, yes maybe a lack of talent but I felt it was over the top in 23.
That's funny. It doesn't matter how the real F1 car feels because the game is not a real simulator, so the feeling will never be similar to real F1 car.
@@nako6429 I think closest experience kind of nullifies this comment.
So you’re saying the car is back to that horrible 2023 under steering. No more Verstappen pointy front end ! 👎🤮
I want my money back.
All these nerds complained enough it seems. On time trial I saw plenty of people 5 seconds on average faster than the real cars.
Handling could not have been that bad.
Early access on a patch? What in the f
why they give youtubers acces to test ? if they have nothing in common with how real f1 fell and drive ??? why they care about players how a game should be and not real f1 driver . They just could pay few f1 driver and put them to play it and will be the end

The New patch is Worst! They ruin now all the game!!
Guys really how to like a game when you are 4 second faster than real f1? Or you send it in a corner and the camera turns like kicked in the ass? Really the game took wrong path not an evolution from 23 for the better.

It's a lot more than that, it feels much better to drive
@@AlexGillonGaming yeah I’ll trust you then, will see when the update is out
Why are you so against an f1 car having grip?
I honestly think all this misinformation and misleading information and videos is doing tremendous ham to the community and it is made worse by content creators who basically do understand the new handling model. Having worked in F1 and other forms of motorsports.
New handling model is here to stay and hopefully Codemasters does not bow down to community pressure and change it all because of the majority of people who have no fundamental knowledge of it the days of RRLL & LLLL are gone suspension geometry has to be custom to each individual track and driver's style of driving. I have seen this new mantra of LLLL guess what it doesn't work. and with the implementation of slip angles and and other plan updates in new patch. There will be more crying and throwing toys out of sand pit.
23 model by far better. 22 is even better than this year's model
yep, still not buying it. F22, last one I bought, stll stings.......
This sounds forced
There is nothing wrong with the handling, i had no problems. Im a smooth driver on the game, and i feel it made it better for me.
It looks pretty bad still tbh
Glad they are fixing it. But it’s funny how a bunch of NON f1 drivers are telling codemasters how a f1 car should feel. Lmao!! That’s some funny stuff to me 😂😂
You spelled game breaking wrong. Because this patch broke the game.
They need to nerf the downforce. I think by 10/15% and the game will look more realistic and time laps will be too.
I've not directly compared it to real life, but I think the grip in general needs lowering, so it's more likely the tyres giving too much
