I have a U10 also. Just bought it a few weeks ago. Next weekend will be the first time I take it out.
How long does that battery last for you? And what’s your top speed on this kayak…love the build
The battery is a big ol marine battery 👎🏼 I plan on getting a new one soon. But this one is 65ah, I’ve fished for about 6 hours before and only used 25-30% battery and that was with a mild wind conditions! So I think I could probably get 12-15 hours of run time out of a charge! And top speed seems to be a hair under 5mph
Great video, got me leaning towards the U10 instead of an old town 110. My main concern is stability, sounds like this is the way to go. Thank you.
Absolutely is the way to go. The 106 PDL was great, but U10 beats it in stability by a land slide!
Thanks, good review, with thoughtful comments. I found it helpful. Trying to decide between NuCanoe, and Old Town.
Both are incredible kayaks! No wrong answer, if you’re wanting a pedal drive or a mk power then I’d go with Old Town, still super stable and awesome warranty! But if you’re wanting the MOST stable and to run a motor similar to what I have, I would go with Nucanoe! But it’s all preference, of course 😁
@@rizeroutdoors tough decision. I really want a pedal drive and a motor. Wish I could like the NuCanoe pedal drive but just can’t warm up to it.
The Old Town Sportsman 120 would be sweet with a motor setup! It’s long enough you could use your pedals too! And yeah, I haven’t tried the pedal system on the nucanoes but I have seen some not so good reviews on them. Not sure!
@@rizeroutdoors you’re right, the 120 would be long enough to accommodate the Xi3 and pedals, however I was deciding between the U10 and 106PDL. I’ll go with the NK180 or 300. That was why pedals were important for me. They would be my manual spot lock😊.
Such a sick rig with the motor guide xi3. I have a flint with a trolling motor but I think this is the next step up. You still feel the same about it?
Oh yeah I love it! I’ve been fishing out of my boat a good bit, but still have the U10. It’s still the best kayak I’ve ever had and don’t plan on getting anywhere else.
Just picked up one myslef. Just plan on paddling for now, but will add the motorguide xi3 at some point. Is that the Xi3 with spot lock? Thought about going with the non spot lock feature to keep cost down at first. Its about a $600 difference between the two. Thanks for your review!
Awesome!! This Xi3 is the GPS with spotlock, but I can definitely see the benefit even with one without the gps features. And plus you can always add the GPS unit later on if you decided you wanted to! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the reply!
Sick rig
Thanks for showing your setup. Really interested in pretty much the exact same thing. Wondering where you have the battery for the trolling motor located in that on the water shot, and how big the battery is? Also, what net is that? I need a better one haha
The battery is located in my crate! It’s a 65ah lead battery so it’s super heavy but I do plan on getting a new one soon. And the net is just a Amazon DIY net I made! Should be a video here on TH-cam, it’s a Greg Blanchard copied net. Does great!
Awesome ! What was your top speed with the trolling motor ?
Right at 5mph!
I am in the process of upgrading my Pelican Catch PWR 100 to the SS107. Would you recommend the U10 over the SS107?
For myself, yes! I fish Lake Erie in a kayak so the U10 is better suited for that. Handles big water like a dream. The SS107 would probably do a little better in rivers/streams with tracking and being able to maneuver quicker. Both great yaks, but the U10 is superior in my opinion.
I’m considering this exact setup with the xi3. I do a lot of trolling and I’m wondering how the tracking is without the rudder. What are your thoughts? Thanks
I was actually super impressed with the tracking without any kind of rudder system! Not saying it wouldn’t be even better with one, but I think I’m good for now just the way it is! Tracks great!
I’m 6’5 230. I want a kayak I can comfortably stand and fish. But I’d rather it still be a smaller kayak that I can put in the bed of my truck. I currently have a nucanoe flint and I really like it I can paddle very long distances with ease compared to other kayaks I’ve had. A super stable under 11ft with an xi3 seems like it would fit my bill perfectly but idk if it would be stable enough for me to stand and fish comfortably. Do you see stability being an issue for someone my size with the U10?
No, I still think it would be perfect for what you’re describing! I’ve seen 300+lb in the U10 be able to stand and fish with ease. I think it would fit what you’re needing perfectly
@@rizeroutdoors appreciate the reply! Keep the content coming!
Got a question for you! Is your Elite 9ti a ti2? What transducer do you have? I have the elite 9ti with totalscan and am trying to dial in my settings.
Also im rocking the NuCanoe Frontier 12 with xi3, its a beast!
Mine is an Elite FS9, with the 3in1 active imaging and I’ll be honest, I’m still trying to dial in my settings as well 🤣
This is a great review. I am currently on a Flint, running the NK180. What is your opinion on the U10 vs the Unlimited? I'm fishing larger lakes and the Everglades. Definitely on the fence between those two.
I can’t say for sure because I haven’t got to test out an unlimited, but I will say I like the idea of how much smaller the U10 is! That’s one of the big reasons I went with the U10 was because I like a smaller kayak, I didn’t wanna feel like I was in a Jon boat. Haha I’d say both would be great! The stability on both are out of this world!
can you paddle it without busting your knuckles? Does it paddle well at all. I've been looking for something I can stand in. I hat falling in the water!
Yeah! No issues paddling it
At 5-9 what size paddle do you use on a 41” wide kayak?
Would you have room for foot control steering? Leaving the pod in.
Yes, I do believe so!
Thanks for the fair review.
My pleasure!
Great video! Is this the XI3 with GPS? Thanks!
Yes, it is!
Good stuff in kayak industry
I am 6ft 1in. Would i have enough leg room with the storage compartment and fish finder setup?
Yes I do believe you would! Very roomy. You can also scoot the seat back farther than what I had it, my tackle crate is pretty big!
Can you still put boonedox landing gear on that the same way as the Unlimited?
Yep!
Reminds me of my 106mk
Xi3 gets oldd REALLL QUICK!..ive had it twice on the unlimited the ss127 and it just creates another hassle..but its fun lol
So what trolling motor should I get for the u10?
i'm 5'11 220 how would the 10 work out for me and whats your speeds top out at
I think it would be be perfect for you! Top speed is 4.5mph
@@rizeroutdoors ty
What is max speed on the xi3 on that kayak?
Right at 4.8mph
Awesome video.
Thank you! Thanks for watching!
Have you tried the RVR 119?
I have not! Looks sweet though!
Thanks for the info!
Any time!
41" wide wow... 5" wider than my 106PDL. It's probably the widest on the market!
I had a 106 PDL! Loved that kayak. It was very stable as well!
new sub good stuff
Welcome!
Thanks so much!
Isn’t great to paddle cause it’s too wide . With a motor it’s awesome
transom mount motor capable?
Yes sir!
How much for that bad boy , just yak?
Just the yak retails for $1599, totally worth it! 3 months with it and I still absolutely love it!
great video
more of a canoe then a kayak, for what your doing its great, but its a tank to paddle anywhere there's current or tides.
It’s about tradeoffs. It paddles better than you think.
who cares how it paddle's when you have a bow mount
I have the f12 and it’s really not that bad. I certainly wouldn’t paddle the thing on a big lake for any distance but for short paddles it’s not bad at all.
I was analyzed your channel and I saw that in your channel have many problems. If you can fix it, your channel will grow like a storm. If you allow me I can Tell these problems. I am a experienced person, because I am working since 2018 on youtube as a yt grow expert.
