- In this video we take a look at my 2021 Nucanoe Unlimited kayak which has been set up specially for Trophy Catfishing and is still the future of the sport in 2024. Other gear, like the Sylvansport Go Easy trailer that I use to haul the Kayak will be covered in another video.
I mentioned my cast net is 8ft, this is incorrect. After measuring to make sure, it is 7ft and meets TPWD regulations

Love the way you rigged up your unlimited! I'm currently researching kayaks to replace an Outback that I sold. I fish small reservoirs and small rivers. Would you recommend an unlimited or should I keep researching options?
Thanks for watching and your comment! I'd say the unlimited has been the best all round, versatile kayak since it came out. It might not be as flashy as other kayaks straight off the shelf, but the amount of customization you can dream up really is what gives it that 'unlimited' name. There aren't many other options for both xi3 and outboard motor mounting if that's what you're into, while at the same time still having options available for a pedal system. The new U10 might be something to consider too, I've not seen one in person yet but it does seem like an interesting smaller option.
This seems to be much more customizable than my Ascend 133x. This thing is a beast!
I feel like I have it rigged just right for my needs... Until the next idea comes along 😁
Just bought one from the warehouse here in Washington State. So excited to take it out
Congrats on your new kayak!
Nice set up man… It was also nice meeting you today..Lookin forward to new vids..
Was nice meeting you too! Maybe we'll catch up again out on the water. Tight lines!
Dang brother, sorry i missed your live. I was driving home at the time it shows you went live. Catching the replay
No worries bro I decided to make it an unannounced instant premier :)
Learned alot from this. Thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Nucanoe makes an awesome platform. Great walkthrough
They sure do! Thanks for watching!
Great setuo Clint. Definitely a lot better equipped than the previous kayak.
Thanks Matt! Yes the Nucanoe is a very versatile kayak, I liked the Hobie but I LOVE the unlimited
Love the setup! I'm definitely taking som,e of your ideas as I get used to mine. Any reason you didn't put the deck pad completion kit on it? I just got a Nuclear Green with the deck pad kit and it looks great and helps with noise and prevents things from slipping around.
@@PeteVanFleet thanks for watching and great question! There's no real reason for not installing a deck kit other than not really needing it personally.... Most of the time I am fishing from the chair and not standing or moving around too much, the deck is also mostly empty since I keep stuff stored away and use / replace as needed. If I were primarily bass fishing I might have considered it.
Best unlimited breakdown out.
Thank you for the kind words!
Howdy. Connecting over from Pontoon Jodi.
Love my nucanoe but the hull could be a little tougher, it won't tolerate rocks very well.
In comparison I've had old towns that were tough and rocks were almost no worry at least for years and years.
Totally agree, I've had a Hobie Pro Angler and a Jonny Bass 100 that were tough as nails underneath. This is one of the very few flaws of the nucanoe
@@CircleHookProductions makes me wonder what the new hulls are like...being built at a new facility.
Yes the plastic is pretty thin compared to other kayaks
Wait till you see my rig. It’s a boat compared to an unlimited. You got yours rigged sweet though
The take 2 is a pretty cool kayak
So cool! Now I want to know what’s the secret project :)
Check out the latest video!
@@CircleHookProductions I already did! And liked it before it even premiered :)
@@ChrisBuchanan1 you da man!!
How you liking that motor? I’ve been thinking about getting that for tooling around the Mississippi River.
I like the Honda but to be honest I don't use it as much as I should, it's easier to just head out with the Xi3 most of the time. It is a great little motor though and I would recommend it.
Very interesting 👌
Thank you! Cheers!
Bad ass 💪🏼
What base for the rod holder is that. Want to switch from using the plastic ones. Setup is bad to the bone.
@@ryanharrod1155 thanks for watching :) yeah once I moved over from plastic holders I never looked back. These bases are also from Smackdown Catifshing, and then I drilled through the Boonedox plates so I could bolt the base and plate together. The Smackdown holder then just screws right in
