    I'll sit this one out, happy for others to test it for a while.

    Just got mine yesterday and so far so good. I also have the non delta fan in my deck and saw zero difference in my fan speed when attached VS not attached in my testing as well. I saw some reviews mention it casuong slow downs and issues in games, i habe not experienced anything of the sort with mine as of a couple hours of playtime i have gotten in. Im loving the extra battery life i now have and am not so worried about being away from an outlet.

    I’m gonna try diy Velcro since I’m budget limited.

    I did a DIY version of this with one of the Anker Power bank and Deckmate. The entire combo was more than this so cool that there’s cheaper alternatives. I also found that the weight with it attached to the Deck did become more of a hassle in certain games though

    Mine arrived today. That's a crazy tough magnet. I think it's several smaller ones all working together alongside that recessed space to give it mad grip.
    When you fit the plate, bow it out a little as you clip it over and it goes on quite nicely. the same for taking it off.
    The weight of the battery by itself is pretty crazy by itself but somehow still quite comfortable when help alongside the Deck.
    Seems to sit nicely in a WiiU dock thing with the battery on the back btw.

      No noticable issues with the magnets and performance either. I think because it's a few smaller ones all directed one way, it's just not an issue like the KillSwitch magnet issue was.

    Thanks for reviewing this specific powerbank. I'll be receiving it in a few days with the SD, and was hrdpressed on finding a review for this specific power bank. 🤞 i don't get the SD with the delta fan 😅.
    Thanks very much for sharing this super helpful review! 👍
    Sub'd for more 😉

    I'm always afraid that the port will wear out...
    I only got stuck with the cable on the laptop once and since then it has had a loose connection, if that happens with the steamdeck it's pretty bad, it only has one.
    don't like playing with the charging cable plugged in either

    Quick question: how did it feel weight-wise playing the Deck with the power bank attached? The Deck is already a bit on the heavier side; does this make it uncomfortably heavy? Would you be alright playing for just as long?

    Jsaux method of mounting is without magnets thankfuly.

      Got the deckmate for this reason. It uses the camera kind of mounts and 3m tape

    • @_GarethRossUK
      @_GarethRossUK 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@H3lloSE where Jsaux goes you wont need tape. It's a strap so no perminant change to anything you connect up to that.

      @@SteamDeckGaming on US Amazon it directs to a search page full of power banks, rather than a specific listing. The ANTANK power bank was in the results, but only as a sponsored result on the second page.
      Also the Dock link on US Amazon links to a completely different dock from a different brand (New-Q). It's actually more interesting than the dock you reviewed. It clips onto the back of the Steam Deck and adds two USB ports and an HDMI port along the top edge of the deck, along with a kickstand. It's slim enough to fit in the Steam Deck case while still attached, which makes it a good travel dock. Plus since the connections are mounted on the Deck, you can connect to a display and still use the Steam Deck as your controller, which isn't as practical with a standard dock or hub. Downsides are that they didn't use a low profile USB-C connector, and the USBs are only 2.0.

  • @kewlztertc5386

    Too bulky and heavy.
    A powerbank in your pocket with a cord long enough to reach the deck. Is a more practical solution.

    I wouldnt put a magnet anywhere near the deck!

  • @DaRadicalCavy
    @DaRadicalCavy 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    So Dbrand was all over the news for spending millions due to the recall given magnets can break the device and now another company wants to do the same?
    The only good about this video (because this sadly puts your viewers devices at risk) is I have a new company to add to my blacklist of companies to avoid like the plague.

    • @SteamDeckGaming
      @SteamDeckGaming  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It only puts their devices at risk if they don't check, i'd rather they be informed than buy it without knowing the risk at all

    • @DaRadicalCavy
      @DaRadicalCavy 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@SteamDeckGaming Many can't check though which is the problem. My settings show everything but the fan and until needed I wouldn't suggest opening the deck given the structural integrity issues warning Steam gave. I totally get letting folk make an informed decision but I think your giving way more credit to the average buyer than they deserve to find every bit of information and check.

    • @Marchief84
      @Marchief84 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @DaRadicalCavy 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SteamDeckGaming doesn't show for me nope. Maybe a bug but even so, I just don't think you can expect the average buyer to go to such lengths to not risk damaging their device.
