If someone’s urge to smoke is so strong and uncontrollable that they have to risk other people’s lives to do it… might be time for some self reflection, maybe think about a quit plan, rather than blame a cruise line for not having smoking facilities for a few hours on boarding day

Since I think that a Taylor Swift concert is like the 8th circle of Hell, I would definitely choose a cruise over a Taylor Swift concert. I applaud the young lady's choice. I can't think of any performer where I wouldn't immediately trade the concert tickets for a cruise.
Ive seen Taylor in concert and been on many cruises. Honestly if I could sell the tickets and make a little money, I would sell them. You can watch her concert on tv and prob have a better view than being there live. She does put on a good show!
Can someone say... "Royal Caribbean Got Hacked?" I doubt the cruise line would ever admit to this though! Sounds eerily similar to the Neopanamax container ship MV Dali.
I told my husband about this and he asked what type of fuel, I said Both kinds. he said the same thing as was reported here. that the fuel switch over may have caused it. I'm sure it's very important that the switch is done in a very specific way, and if, for whatever reason they tried a different way- or there was a computer update that tried to skip a step or something, perhaps that is what caused the problem.
Always report a balcony smoker. If you don't agree, then tell your story to the family of the person who died on the Star Princess in 2006, and get that family to agree with your opinion. Whoever caused that balcony fire in 2006 on the Star Princess, should have to pay for repair to the ship. Is that a price that you are willing to pay to be sucking on a cancer stick?
I hate smoke. And I'm glad it's banned on balconies. But, in 2006 it was allowed. It was an accident, not a blatant breaking of rules. However, if they intentionally threw it overboard, that's a different story.

I live in Baltimore and with the MV Dale just being towed to port today, I think it essential to report that changing fuel or contaminated fuel have been called out as possible issues. That this is happening on RCI twice seems to warrant more investigation.
On ships of AIDA Cruises (Carnival Group) smoking on balconies is still allowed😮😮. Having already asked Carnival, why it's still allowed with AIDA. No answer yet 😒. Another reason for me, not to book any cruise with ship from Carnival Group.
Yes, and Yes. I have called security on people smoking on balconies. They were there in about 5 minutes. I would sell concert tickets for a cruise every time. I don't enjoy even a great concert as much as a 7 day cruise. BUT, not on Carnival. You couldn't pay me to get on a Carnival cruise!
I smoke but never on the balcony. I respect others. I go to the smoker areas or the Churchill lounge to get a drink with cigarettes. Nice place to watch sports and hang out!! Never any problems!!
The lady exchange 3 hr concert fun to 7 day cruise fun. Worth it , she might miss a lifetime experience with Taylor, but that cruise could be life changing for her too.
I was disappointed with Royal Caribbean smokin in the casino the smoke drifted through the ship with the casino being located in the middle of the ship instead of at the front or back of the ship

I don’t know, how does costa cruise lines allow smoking on their balconies and never have issues? I believe the fire hazard comes from not giving guests ash trays on the balcony. If the upper deck balconies at the aft of the ship were assigned as smoking areas it would eliminate all the issues. The people who dislike smoking wouldn’t have people sneaking around smoking wherever because it’s unreasonable how limited the smoking areas are. I don’t like loud drunks, but I don’t ask the cruise line to stop serving alcohol. Some people are smokers and they should be accommodated.
There is no group I want to see more than going on a cruise these days! With that being said, if it was in the 1980’s as a teenager/young adult and I had tickets(with backstage passes) to see Bon Jovi or Def Leppard, I’m definitely going to the concert! 😍😍🤣🤣

No prob if they get the power up in 10 to 20 mins. Generators can go down and you have to fix the issue or reroute power.

No I wouldn't sell concert tickets at a greatly inflated price to take a cruise. It feels illegal, even if not morally, reprehensible.
