I'm just wondering. How could you lose your room if your room was guaranteed? Is it that caveat where you don't upgrade my room, they can push you out and up to a higher grade room to book another person? Sounds like it. Geez ..
Evidently the 8 passengers were an hour late. We are warned about arriving on time back to the ship. If I were being sent to a hospital from the ship, I would like to think I'd bring my passport and purse with credit cards, etc
I believe in divine intervention. It is very possible that the passenger who had the stroke probably wouldn't have made it home if those others hadn't been left behind
You can have a measure of understanding for the cruise line with the private excursion aspect, although I still think the handling was poor. But how Norwegian treated a woman they feared was having a stroke… That shows them in an entirely new and frankly abysmal light. To not even have informed her next of kin and the nearest US consulate? I love cruising and the experiences it has given me, but I’m increasingly starting to worry about the duty of care some of these companies have (or lack thereof). We’ve never travelled with NCL before and the stories that have emerged about them over the last year or so wouldn’t encourage me to change that.
As Zappa would say, "You should be digging it while it's happening". There's not much to do in that case, so enjoy the experience. At least the ship came back. Like to hear the follow up on this.
Okay I really think the 8 passengers have no right to be upset since they were late, but the medical emergency stranded lady is wrong. How could they just abandon her?!
What with overbooking, cruise cancellation, itinerary changes, the cruise line industry is teaching people to ONLY book LAST MINUTE. I will never book a year or even 4 months in advance. Nothing can refund me for massive disappointment and inconvenience.
It was my understanding that Norwegian was making sure the woman got home, I didn't hear that the other passengers helped her. If that's the case, shame on them!! And good thing they were able to help her!! I'm afraid it's always made very clear, that if you take a private tour and you miss the boat, you've missed the boat. They won't wait for you. Even if you let them know you're coming, on the way, etc. If that wait time is significant, they're not going to jeopardize their schedule by waiting... That's why doing private tours is always a gamble.
The Captain made the right decision. The safety off all aboard warranted the ship leaving. They should at least refund one day of cruise and maybe give them a credit on board for their expense that day in Japan. And why don't cruise lines get your cell number and text people when problems occur.
The seven passengers should have called ship and explained circumstances. Host said SIL contacted the left behind passengers and they help with his MIL, but they had already missed ship. Still 1500 passengers should not be inconvenienced except for extraordinary event. Private excursions are not a good deal if you missed your ship.
gosh, travelling alone at 80 is quite risky. Perhaps this situation is something we should all think about, what if we had a medical emergency in a port of call. Be worth investigating at any age and have a plan. You owe it to yourself to be organised and proficient with technology and your money to take care of yourself.
NCL failed the 9th passenger big time. I'm tired of hearing about the other 8 they caused their own pain by booking outside of a ship excursion and not getting back in time.
First off people need to realize that we are Nothing to the cruise line were just a number to them...a booking number Thats All! They don't care about you they don't care about me. There always so friendly on the phone or on the ship but when something happens they don't walk away from you they Run! I've learned to except that and just do what i can to follow their rules to have a great cruise. As for cabins we cruise RC all the time and we Always pick our room especially with all this overbooking crap. Yes its more but most of the time its only a few hundred dollars different for an ocean view balcony. We have 11 cruises booked with RC coming up most are already paid for and do you know what they offer us...close your eyes what do you see...Nothing. Nothing except those stupid emails. I don't care all i want from them is to give me what i paid for...a clean room and decent food.
Cruise News: 50 Passengers Stranded on Two Ships. Who is at Fault? -----> th-cam.com/video/IHuBPcDMTFk/w-d-xo.html
So glad the 9th passenger had a group that helped her in a foreign country. This is so scary for people who cruise alone.
I would have freaked out if i saw the ship leaving .
Captain made call to protect the major number of passengers and the cruise ship. Great all.
What good does an upgrade do for the overbooked people? They are out hotels and airfare and off work time.
I get the 8 late passengers, but the 9th? Holy crap.
The over-booking is totally unacceptable.

No guarantee cabin, my PVP from carnival says there is no worries with carnival. Don't trust it.
😅😅😅😅😅😅 yeah right!

No Your 100 & 10 % Right about that Booking and I would
be really PI%^^& OFF to get to the Ship and '''' NO ROOM
AT THE INN ''' ...
I would've lost my mind!!!!
I would never purchase a non-guaranteed cabin!
I would not want to be on a cruise while there's a tsunami. Higher ground for sure.
Love your show!
Cruise lines should not be allowed to overbook. The dynamics are not the same.

It wasn’t that bad, I’m on the ship currently. We watched the ship leave port while we were at Shuri Castle on one the highest point.
I have booked guaranteed rooms and been in awful rooms so no more! Got put on deck 2 forward. It was AWFUL!
I always get a Specific cabin. Never book a guaranteed. That’s just me.
Think they should be subject to MAJOR FINES.Like u said a another plane will come rapidly, cruise could be mos, later when u cannot get off work?
Hey can you share with me information on how to pursue employment in the cruise ship industry. Thanks
Okay I really think the 8 passengers have no right to be upset since they were late, but the medical emergency stranded lady is wrong. How could they just abandon her?!
unacceptable!!!
No over booking!!!
To many issues for something that cost so much

Major fines
tsunami would not wait for these passengers.
Ncl ought to pay out big time.

Unacceptable Norwegian!!! Leaving the woman in the hospital
Celebrity handled the situation well. We have friends on the cruise who were on excursion and they returned to the ship safely.
Stop blaming the cruise line!
