    I don't think I've ever seen a political candidate lay out their plan in such a straight forward manner.

    • @robreiken
      @robreiken 8 ปีที่แล้ว +34

      thejobloshow Well then you obviously didn't see political candidate Ron Paul who kicked ass to win the straw poles while the Mainstream lied about it all, or how about JFK. & because he layed out his plan in such a straight forward manner, he got a bullet to the head because of it. Also Ross Perot also layed out his plan & if he continued with his campaign, well then the government were going to kill his 2 daughters , that's why he got out. Government only allows corruption to the core sellout leaders , that's why honest candidates are not allowed in.

      Liberty Never Sleeps,
      seriously? He's far and away better than Clinton, but by no means is he straightforward, or even consistent. And he would never lay out a plan like this.

      If you know nothing about Ross Perot then stop being lazy & start researching the matter. He opposed NAFTA & had plans much like Ron Paul although he is a Billionaire. Much of the truth to matter may still be here in cyberspace but is disappearing fast with agencies like snopes & infraguard being on the scene. That is unless you work for any of them cause truth is to become a thing of the past if they have their way.

      Ross Perot would have fixed all our money problems. He was not a politician, he was a Texas billionaire, he got fed up at the lies of government. he couldn't believe people were so ignorant, they didn't want to read. That's also why he did the charts instead of doing on screen graphics. he knew people don't read, so he skipped graphics and did a more personal discussion. he knows economics, he has more degrees than all the presidential candidates since.
      since Trump is a business man and not a politician so he's got my vote, we need a Non Politician in office that ignores political correctness and speaks bluntly and doesn't kiss everyone's ass.

      Imagine if the electoral college was abolished a little before the 1992 election. How many more people would have gotten out to vote? Perot could have won by at least 38% of the popular vote, if he didn't take a break from campaigning and had campaigned more in the swing states.
      Several things would happen: NAFTA would not be signed, the Glass-Steagall act would not be repealed, Americans would be able to vote directly on issues via the edemocracy, we would have single-payer healthcare, and the military would not be sent to invade sovereign nations for resources!
      He would have probably been the next FDR with a bit more of added fiscal conservatism.

Now, both parties and their supporters are rabidly racist, insane, waste tax money, we are in more debt, both war mongers, fighting over stupid things, worshipping superman Obama or the Trump or Hilary like they are the second coming of Christ,. Chris Hedges, I don't agree with everything Hedges says, but when he gave a speech 20 years ago at a college and warned about wars around the world, the Americans booed him off the stage. Now, 20 years later, other countries like China (Perot warned against NAFTA, constant wars, but both parties supported Nafta, so both parties are guilty of so many wicked and evil things) Trump has a very bad history that the majority of Americans don't care to expose, as well as the liberal Clinton, Obama supporters. Now everyone is vilifying Bush and now liberals are embracing Bush, what a silly dangerous country. If you are not wealthy, you will be regentrified, we have no money for schools or infrastructure, many people are on drugs, dying, the crime rate is high whether it is street inner city crime or white collar crime both are affecting society and making most people poor. Well, Americans voted for this and they are so irrational, one cannot talk to extremist Trump Right wing or Left Liberal Demorats, and yet there is fighting inside each group against each other!

      I agree, but for different reasons. Government isn't a business it's an organization that collects taxes, and spends it on things for the population. I think Ron Paul was right on the fact that the American people need to redefine what the role of government is. It's doing way too much, but doesn't do it right because it isn't a business which can fail for bad economic policies... So it has no business doing business. Get where I am going?

    I’m a staunch social democrat (progressive). I would of voted Perot. When he was asked if the government should step in to help fund poor families healthcare costs not only did he say yes he also said that he supported a single payer system. Good god what a mistake the previous generation did for not voting for him. Truly was the people’s voice.

    He was a devout critique of trickle down economics and was most definitely about the working people of the nation without it coming off as demonizing the wealthy . It was about fairness and common sense approach to governing . Notice , nothing said about government is all bad . In fact , Ross Perot spoke allot about government investment and the top 1%p paying rheir fair share. Sadly in todays toxic environment, he would be called a socialist to go there .

  • @stockjonebills
    @stockjonebills 9 ปีที่แล้ว +52

    Perot was great because he gave specifics with charts and facts. More debates need that instead of the typical generalized rhetoric. For you more left slanted folks who dont want to listen to his specifics, did you not get his comment about trickle down economics and the disparity in wealth? That supports your ideals. Listen and pay attention to the whole thing. Businessmen are not all greed and hate like you believe.

    • @stockjonebills
      @stockjonebills 9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      DrStrangel0ve2 Yeah but the problem is that a lot of millennials and usually liberals just assume that all business people or companies have nothing but evil intentions which is a pretty juvenile position. Employment comes from employers and employers are business owners. Government should not be looked upon to be the world's employer. Taxing business especially small business to death is bad news for the economy. Perot would also agree with that, but he also understood the problem with laissez fair economics. At the same time he said we need to cut government spending. He does not fit perfectly in the Democrat or Republican mold and that's exactly what we need.

    • @jwgmail
      @jwgmail 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +stockjonebills I am very liberal and I love Perot's ideas. I'm not trying to start a fight, but you should watch how you say things. In your statement "usually liberals just assume ... which is a pretty juvenile position." Is, by its own definition (generalization / assumption), a pretty juvenile position. If it's not clear, it's because you are generalizing and making assumptions about liberals.
      I believe liberals are very appreciative of small/mid sized business owners, which is why the rhetoric tends to use the world "corporations," which are shareholder owned legal entities.
      I would argue that the biggest problem today is the use of religion (by rich republicans) to get poor people to vote against their own self-interest. So many poor people vote on one or two fucking issues: abortion / gay rights. If people voted in their own (generally financial) self-interest, exclusive of those issues, the republican party would not have a chance.

    • @stockjonebills
      @stockjonebills 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are right. Saying things like "usually liberals just assume" is being a bit biased. The reason I said that, is that from my experience, a lot of people these days that lean to the left tend to scrutinize anyone who is a CEO or a business person with the evil corporation connotation. Perot wasn't just a small business owner as you try and differentiate from a corporation. He was the owner and CEO of a very large corporation.

    • @jwgmail
      @jwgmail 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +stockjonebills It's of course true (liberals). Corporations, like armies, like any group of people, do things that a single individual would never do (I don't remember which philosopher said that), but it's too simple to just say they're the reason for all the world's ills. I am pretty far left, and it annoys the hell out of me when I see leftist rhetoric that shows clearly that they haven't even tried to see the other perspective. We expect it from the Right and say "we're better than them" but are often just as ignorant, spouting the party's line. It just sucks because it's so hard to get ANY unbiased info. I wish we'd have put Perot in just to see what would have happened.
      The only one to say sacrifice now, reap later... of course that's too honest to get you elected. Why can't we reap without sowing? We're America dammit! : (

    • @stockjonebills
      @stockjonebills 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +jwgmail I agree. I think a lot of people arent completely black and white democrat or republican. Most people are more biased then they realize. All of us have biases. I commend you for wanting to always listen to and consider both sides of the argument. I try to do the same.

    I remember watching every show & voted for the man. We would have a better country today, if he became our President in 1992.

    America wasn’t ready and will never be ready for a President like this. He’s too honest. He didn’t blink when he said that taxes needed to be raised and entitlements reduced. The majority of voters are unwilling to make sacrifices for the greater good. It’s always “someone else” that needs to make the sacrifices to resolve the problem.
    Today, and always, the politicians will say it’s the “rich” not paying their fair share while completely ignoring the government spending problem. Rest assured folks that if Perot was elected president most of this stuff wouldn’t have happened because it would have required Congress to work together to pass legislation quickly to implement the plan.

    Ross Perot had common sense and probably could have been a great potus, but unfortunately we have a two party system and if your not a part of that you have no real shot at becoming the president regardless of your ability, intelligence, talents.

      A 2016-updated Perot of same age and health as in this video would win a Clinton-Perot-Trump three-way. This program is quite exactly what the US independent- and swing-voters are demanding right now. If Sanders somehow manages to topple Clinton I believe he will win the election over any GOP candidates, just owing to the sheer fact he's the sole candidate who vowes to rebuild the middle class.

      Keep Rocking! Imagine the heat he was most likely dealing with to make him drop out tho. They would’ve had his head if he won, not that they would ever let it happen

      Actually, he would have won if he hasn't dropped out for 3 months and then came back. He got... 20% of the vote or something like that. I huge amount for 3rd party. People lost a lot of confidence when he dropped out. And I think there were some shenanigans involved in that.

    Wow. The deficit was only $4 Trillion when he ran. He would have cleaned it up, too. And I voted for him. RIP, Mr. Perot.
