A fantastic script with perfectly tuned humor to information, centered around a wonderfully great build no one else bothered to try, held together with amazing editing that makes even giant channels feel envy. Pinnacle of tutorials, that's for sure.
Teapot my dude this video is so packed with information that not even I, the big IQ, could catch everything. Great pacing of memes to hook the people on the idea at first and then thoroughness and vivid playmaking to solidify this build as an absolutely viable and powerful method of playing. My only gripe is that you did not include any WvW footage even though you said its good there as well.
Heal-FB, Dwarf-rev in all groups, 3 Heal-scrapper and 3 of these carry-scourges (I refuse to call it a heal-necro since it doesn't heal) in a full zerg... and the enemy won't see any bag ;)
8 days ago you said : "The vid will be up tomorrow". 8 long days I waited and checked every few hours, but it was definitely worth the wait. Excellent guide !!
"Blood is where the magic really happens" You slay me. I thought I bought POF for the mounts and new zones and story. TIL it was for the scourge elite spec.
I've been running a build similar to this but it's a hybrid support scourge. With shaman and Marshal stats instead of magis. Absolutely love its versatility and flexibility in all kinds of scenarios.
So I put this build on my necro and omg I was surprised as to how easy it was to keep myself alive and even those killing a world boss alive. The only people I noticed dying around me where people away from me. This build is awesome!
Necro is my favourite and main class in GW2, I was really happy when i found the "tank-summoner" build, and now,i'm even more with the Healer build too! Thanks fro creating this guide man
I'm sorry to say that I didn't know Teapot existed two years ago so I'm late to this party. I'm very happy to say that this video and the build are a thing of beauty. Long Live the Scourge!
This build is god tier, there is not anything close in terms of safety even comparing it to other MMO classes (it is op), it makes raids retarded ez. Too bad it can't heal brain damage Wich 90% of the gw2 raiding community have.
Idk, I could compare it to Protection Paladin from world of warcraft when I used to play it. Allowed constant passive healing from all of my attacks to the entire group and with one button I could completely heal players while another gave them a heal for half their health. It was pretty OP as well. Think it's been changed now. I'm a necromancer so I have full permission to rez this dead comment.
Just wanted to say thank you for this nicely edited high quality build content that you put out. Hope you will make more guides like this when you figure out quirky (and actually really good) builds!
Yes we need support scourge to replace the 2nd druid. Mantaining capped might with a single druid is already a piece of cake and I hate having to play druid over other supports every time I pug!
What a brilliantly concise video. Big fan of the unique builds, even if thise one is frankly limited to a raid scenario rather than fractals because of lack of might gen assuming no bs war.
I'm glad someone made a vid on how good healing scourge is. I've been working on a necro healing build ever since HoT came out and people kept telling me it's a dumb build and it'll never become meta. They were so wrong when PoF came out because scourge is godly when it comes to healing. Sadly enough, I only do WvW and non raid PvE. People are way to elitist when it comes to raid sadly :(
Well they werent wrong, heal reaper was and is trash. And no one is stopping you from greating your own group were you play your heal necro as the commander, just saying.
Raid community: This build is so good, we advise against using them as we feel it has the potential to undermine certain boss mechanics. Also raid community: MUH ALACRITY UPTIEM 4 NO UPDRAFT GORS KILL OR /GG!
phyk well, one of my guilds has lately been experimenting with meme fractal comps like ventari Renegade tank+FB healer, and they work surprisingly fine.
Well no shit that proximity vs subgroups doesn't matter if the number of players doesn't exceed the target limit. I would never play this setup in fractals as I think chrono is just simply better there but at least everyone can get quickness there.
Just got back into the game couple weeks ago. Used to play Necro pre HoT and am looking for a supportive role for fracs etc. Is this build still a thing, given that this video was done 1 1/2 years ago? Would be great to get a feedback! Loved the vid tough, seems really cool
Ive been waiting for this build to become realized by gw2 raid players for almost 1 and a half year, the most undead build ever in the game, not only in raid, in wvw is also strong..
This guy is a prime example of what 'pro' players should do, help others reach the same level of greatness. Watched some of his streams, he's basically carrying other people around raids etc, most selfless streamer ever.
First of all thank you for this build, this is exactly what I wanted when I first saw the trailer for the Scourge and I love it! But I do have a question about it, since apparently a support Scourge is a sin against humanity and should not be attempted: How do we convince the rest of the community that this build works wonders?
Honestly in WvW you can get a squad full of firebrands and scourges , warriors and guards in the front alongside with some tempests ,drop a ton of mesmers and thieves around like scattered sheeps and that's it , pretty much a no brainer honestly.
A very long time ago in GW1, I found I was hopeless as a Monk healer. Almost as soon as Ritualists came out I created a Necro RIT heal build. Not able to heal the whole group at the same time it's benefit was it could heal one ally that was acting as tank, even if a squishy accidentally became the tank. Even better, as long as your party kills things it would never run out of power. Unfortunately anet eventually nurfed it by putting a timer on it.
I'm surprised you didn't mention that the change to make minions grant life force on death makes Summon Bone Minions basically a free life force generator. Just summon and sacrifice for a nice chunk of life force.
i know this is healing scourge but, some credit has to go to Nemesis. He was one of the first people to even present as crazy a build as healing necro in the first place, with the focus being on the revive abilities in the blood magic traits.
running a slightly adjusted build with shaman insigs and scourge runes in a few open world events, and i love it. To bad my guild wont have me run this in raids 8-)
Normally when you rez someone you use the F Key, while you are near them. Do you still have to use the F key when using the F1 thru F5 Shroud Keys? In other words when using Transfusion with the F4 key {Garish Pillar). Does Garish Pillar automatically heal/rez them or does it just pull them to you so that you can use the F key to rez them?
I feel like the point of this build is survivability of the party. Do you think it would fit as main healer in fractals ? I guess it wouldn't work as fine as it does in raid because you would miss a lot of boons and offensive support that a healing druid can supply, even though you bring great healing.
On toughness tanking mechanic based bosses this would require the tank to go higher in toughness / you to tank. If he is high anyway though, it's I guess viable.
Awww maaaan I was really hoping for an excuse to build Nevermore when I saw this vid... Still, nice to see Necro getting some love, and daggers always make sense in my head for necro toons for some reason. Also nice to see dedicated healers getting some love. When I left the game just after thorns dropped it was allllll about the glass canon builds and any other play-style was a guaranteed way to be kicked from the group. Any ideas on ele healing atm? Is it still (pardon the pun) watery or does it actually have bite these days? Been back a few weeks now and trying to decide which toon I'm going to test out in group content. I miss healing :D
Wait, I thought this channel was dead. Seems like Heal necro can actually bring back anything to life.
Sadly, the devs will nerf this Necro. They want the game and this channel dead.
Shmoo I really hope they don't...hate when devs kill anything remotely innovative and fun.

pls no, scourge in wvw after seeing videos like this it is no wonder we have no damage from our pugs...
Heal-FB, Dwarf-rev in all groups, 3 Heal-scrapper and 3 of these carry-scourges (I refuse to call it a heal-necro since it doesn't heal) in a full zerg... and the enemy won't see any bag ;)
