I give my understanding on what I have learnt so far about new pond syndrome and the nitrogen cycle, common mistakes to avoid. I do this in a way I would explain it to my friends. So basically a simplified top down view of a very complicated subject.
I do this in a way that would have made sense to me 6 years ago and aided my growth into the hobby.
As I genuinely believe that this can help people starting out.
Starting up you pond can be complicated and I think this gives a good insight into the nitrogen cycle from a different perspective.
From explaining how koi essentially live in their own "toilet" to breaking down the nitty-gritty (but basic level) of mechanical and biological filtration. Dinosaur fights never hurt anyones nitrogen cycle 😅. Your a bit more than a beginner now Johnny. You've had a steep learning curve bud. Do you ever use the EA pond pure gel balls for the outside of the nexus. They are phenomenal to help along the nitrogen cycle. I put mine in my moving bed once a month just a handful. Mine probably doesn't need it, just habit. It'll help mop up the nitrite
