Hi kirk It's been a while. I was watching often but I thought your content had shifted and I understand that the SBR thing needed to happen. This is a quality bit of craft manship as always. I love the plastering and if I was closer I would love to take a week's leave and come and have a work for you for free. 👍👍🏴🏴
Another Masters class Kirk, I am constantly blown away by the ease of your teaching. Giving away the secrets of your trade for free is what makes you a true Gentleman Sir. Have a cracking good day slinging mud🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
Always superb. Be good to do a full length video of you skimming. With timing etc. seen another plasterer do it on here years ago 3 hour long video, every detail from mixing to applying then finishing. I do this for a living but always good to see how someone else goes through their day
Hi on the trowel, I'm a painter and decorator currently painting an old town house lounge the client isn't happy with the plasters ceilling as after painted she can see parts that slighty dip and in and out nothing drastic and I sorted it with easy fill after a coat of paint wasn't a problem, is it impossible to get a celling totally level on an old town house ceiling or do use guys have to follow the old work, always wondered this, keep the good work up fella love your channel
I would just screw it leweled to those two on the sides down at the bottom and use laser lines to mark the points. Much quicker than this, if you dont have the laser you can use weighted string. No tape measure involved, just simple lines. This trick is better though if you don't have space at the bottom to put a board directly underneath.
@ so fair does I’ve had a bit of a go at u and u have come back every time which u didn’t have to u could just have ignored me but that illustrates the Man U r your integrity which u can’t buy no matter how much u earn wish u health and happiness for u and your family
anyone got a clue what I should do if the previous owners of a house I bought put wallpaper directly on to plasterboard? I used a steamer to take it off and noticed large chunks of the plasterboard paper missing. Some people said seal it and skim over it with bonding coat. Any thoughts?
How long can SBR be left prior to skim coat plastering.. A day....A week...??? Asking because I SBRed a job...and then broke my thumb....will I need to re-SBR.....or...will I be good to go straight on top of the SBRed surface...having already sorted the suction issues????? Been about 3 weeks since I SBRed......Watched all Kirks SBR vids and cannot find an answer....
A good video ' and it's great 👍 : to see a young lad learning a new trade: But just one little thing ? And if you managed to address this point ' I'm sure you could have a wonderful career : that is you are taking an awfully long time to do a little bit of work: But i think with practice you could become quite proficient ? And you no what they say practice makes perfect 😊
If standard plaster board and fire lined plasterboard are similar price why don't people just always use fire lined, is it a pain in the rear to work with or something?
No they shouldn’t it is recommended but not required. The majority of cables behind plasterboard walls are not in conduit/capping. They just need to run in the correct zones
I nearly always learn something new from watching you kirk. And I've been plastering a long time
Kirk you are an artist 👏🏻 great vid again
I’ve done these boards a couples times. Learned a lot more watching these videos
The brain on this guy is phenomenal.

He didn't even dry fit it.. (at least not for the camera!) he was that confident 😊
That wiring terrifies me
Why?
Class from the big guy!
Top notch Kirk 👌
My first thought was to use some wood strips and a hot glue gun to make a template. that was nice
Lovely birra work

Like a glove
Just use a laser like a proper dry liner. Mm perfect mate in my world. If it's tight it's right. 😂
funny when you both put that last board up, wonder who been sitting on his backside and who been working 🤣 dusty room reveals all...... 😜
I do then kind of jobs all time how mush did you charge for that job bud
Wow 🙏🏾❤️

Fire board is twice as heavy. And £2 quickly add up, do 100 house each with a 100 boards, the savings become quite large
@SirCluless thank you
Cables should be in conduit? Regs?

Like it
I think you must have been a trigonometric math genius in a previous life! 😂
Great video Kirk, you can see you're helper spends a lot of time sitting as per his dusty backside. 😅
And if your really crap like me use a laser level and it frees up the need to use the level at all just move it and measure.
Got it! Use your X,Y, Axis coordinate plane system, Now you sent me down a 🐇🕳️ into Geometry 🤯 😉 😂🤣😂 👍
when you first put a trowel in your hand it must have been like when a mother first holds her baby
Wipe that sh_t of your lips when you have finished liking rear ends 😮 boy:
When you have finished liking rear ends it's a good idea to wipe your lips 😮
