Watching you work so perfectly and being a great true tradesman brings a tear to my eye,I broke my shoulder a year into my plastering career which put a stop to it.i wouldve loved to been able to carry on and be like you bro
I’ve been a domestic plasterer for about 21 years now and Your the only spread on the web who truly is a domestic plasterer.. keep up the good work brother 😘😘
me too brother ! 30years
Agreed
I'm in the building trade and this is just amazing to see..keep "spreading" the happiness bro,you seem a top bloke 👌
The world needs more Richard's & more Kirk's... top man doing top work!
Star man ...unbelievable generosity , i have over 40 years as a tradesman in the construction industry, Kirk you have proper old fashion qualities, so refreshing to see, great videos from a professional plasterer with a genuine heart of gold, love your approach and content of your videos, what you see is what you get, faultless... much appreciated, keep it going fella .....😊
Your about heart, soul, and graft..a rare breed today.
Some of us youngsters have had that instilled in us . Dont knock us all 😂😂😂
You’re are a star too mate. You’re right it’s not all about the money all the time, I’m a builder 35 yrs at it, and I too help people all the time. You just know the good people. The World isn’t full of all horrible people 90% are great loving, lovely people. I knew you were one of the good guys from the start, when you first came on TH-cam. I’ve watched all your vids, Brilliant. I wish you & your family all the luck. 😀👍
Thank you mate, really appreciate your comment
I'm very glad to have found your site, before I start plastering walls and ceilings in the house I'm building; even though I've plastered the three previous buildings I've built, there's so much to learn from experienced and conscientous trades people. Love On the Trowel !
Never thought a plasterer would make the most wholesome content, keep it up man great videos.
Absolute angels you two. Teaching the new apprentice a lesson in kindness.
Mate you help more than you realise. Having to do more than the mrs will let me call 'DIY' removing pebbledash, re pointing, rendering the lot. Short version, 1910s house that's been covered in damp proofing, cement and plasterboard causing no end of damp issues. Surveys came back all fine, wasn't worth the paper it was printed on, even the roof was 100 years old with 4 leaks but in 'good condition'. Going from IT to this some of your rendering videos alone have given me some really valuable pointers. Im not skint and with some guys from work we raised 7.5k for a local youth charity in April but too much work to pay for and too much distrust in cowboys. We have found every air brick sealed by a damp proofing company and after removing some cladding enough space in the brickwork I could get my hand through to the inside plasterboard. Very different using hydrated lime for everything but increasingly having more and more respect for guys doing the work you do well (I have a nipper around so im not comfortable with 20 bags of quicklime that could get damp in the garage).
I know enough to make sure it works, does what it should and is safer next winter compared to this winter for my family. But the looking good bit, lets just say im glad my other half likes the rustic look.
Keep doing what your doing dude.
As a painter and decorator I would love to work after your plastering skills , only thing is maybe shouldn't show where people hide they're keys 😂
*their keys.
When people are keys
where do they hide?
@@ChaosToOrder777
On the Piano! :3
@@bosh6604 good answer.
Their not they’re
Fair play to you, Kirk. You're a good plasterer and always doing nice things for other people 👍
You are an amazing person and great at what you do well done Kirk you do your family proud ❤❤
Many plasterers wouldn't take that much time and care on this job as you did. They wouldn't make as perfect as that ready for painting. In fact I suspect many would just bodge it or turn it into a complete re-board and plaster. Great job mate, watching you work made my Friday night Newcastle Brown go down nicely.
It's by chance that I got to watch one of your vids today (patchwork after the plumber). Then I watched another. The one where the elderly lady whose granddaughter was going to visit. I was blubbering before the end. Then I watched this one. You earned my respect and subscription.❤
im a very new plasterer and your content is amazing as well as your work! thanks for your tips and tricks!
Heaven has a special place for honest tradesmen. Really like your work ethic and wish you and your family the very best.
Once again, I plaster everyday and come in an watch your videos I've said it before and I will say it again, u are a fantastic bloke with a huge personality, love watching your content kirk, keep up the fantastic work.
Kirk, I take my hat off to you Sir, You're agood man.
Lovely gesture. I'm reminded of "give and you will receive". You have returned some of Richard's kindness to others. You can look forward to the same. I wish you well with the channel and have subscribed. The world needs more people like you and Richard.
Not sure why I clicked on this, but I'm glad I did, you have restored my faith in the human race !
I’ve been watching u tube for years and I subscribed to dozens of different channels but this one has taken the biscuit. Well done Kirk. Top man. 👍👍👍✊🙏🏻
Top job as usual, Kirk. Well done, mate. You're a good person, too 😊 😉👍
Great job pal that takes a big man with a big heart to do that these days,if everyone done a good deed like that the world will be a much better place 👍👊
The gift that keeps on giving, well in kirk ,love the channel and your purpose look after yourself aswel as others 😊
"Kindness ripples" Kirk. Thanks for giving
I’m not a plasterer never want to be one but your videos got me hooked bro. Your a great guy all round the joy I see you experience helping others is beautiful. May god bless you and everyone you hold dear. Keep up the great work.
I wish we have specialist like you in my town. Previous ''builders'' and former ones from agency my Landlord is using ruined most of the walls by doing it fast and cheap. There is paint on paint on paint on plaster on paint and on paint. Even radiators were painted with all these dust covering it after work. Im just slowly doing room after room for my own pleasure and I learn a lot and its starting to look really cool. This spring kitchen and bathroom and job is done
Why on earth would you do that if you're only renting? 😂😂
I am NOT a plasterer just remembered I once saw a video of yours. Clicked and watched this and really like it!...Good fixing of the plaster board Mate...
👍🤜🏽
StaySafe
Another great video Kirk and kudos to you for what you did with his bill.
As a spread whose always done domestic work starting 1988, I've come across some great customers over the years.
With me working for a local authority, I can't charge customers anyway, but what I can do is take the job a little bit further, offer a little bit more on the customer service for them and trying to make the whole process the best I can for them. I've received a load of praise from customers in the customer satisfaction surveys they are asked to complete and therefore had loads of corporate compliments added to my hr file for going that extra mile and having a can do attitude, rather than some who just look for an excuse not to do the job.
It's my little bit of spreading happiness back to the world 😊
Finally got a full time job as a multi trader/plasterer/decorator today, was having a celebratory drink in the bath and your vid pops up, couldn’t be any better Kirk!
Try pub, loads better.
@@FreddysHamsterNaa too many pricks in the pub mate.

Your a good person mate and an excellent plasterer wish there were more people like you
Good work brother always enjoyable to watch a proper craftsman👍🏻

Stephen
Great uplifting video and lots of good tips for the DIYer. Many thanks
Great video mate. This is the second video of yours I've watched now. I didn't really learn anything from the first video as it was just basic plastering (but you did everything how I would so it was good to see lol). But I learned two things in this one. Use battens rather than cutting back to the joist. And cutting both sides of the board, then criss crossing to break out a neat circle. Even though I have a pad saw that's a good tip for if you haven't got one. The only thing I would have done different would be to knock up the first coat really stiff (almost too stiff to use) as it's only a small patch, to speed up the setting time. Then knocked up the same gear with a little bit of water to speed things up even more. I know some people might say that is a botch job but on small areas I can get it as spot on as using two normal coats, and I take a lot of pride in my work 🙂
Edit : I posted before watching the whole video. Now I see you've knocked up the same gear lol. Top man.
Great minds think alike
Top man as always. I knew half way through this would be a no charge. It’s great you give back Kirk 👍🏻
I'm pleased to see a tradesman who is making his little part of the world a better place.
Well done 👏🏻 I'm a top-class painter and decorator who wishes he could always paint you plasterwork 😂.
Bless you for your generosity.
Thanks mate
Thanks for your gesture Kirk, loved the explanation at the end, the buzz you get from giving far outweighs any monetary reward 👍
I did a job today after a plaster repair, they did a decent job, but when I done the second coat of paint it ripped the 1-2mm plaster off that they'd done over the old emulsion without putting some sort of sealant over it...😡
Bits of plaster wrapped around the roller, some stuck to the wall, and now I've got to go back tomorrow to sand, touch up and do a final coat on the whole wall😡😡
Great clip though mate, subbed 👍🏼
I've had the same issue previously. Did you water down the 1st coat of paint?
Way to Go Kirk 👍 Excellent job done speedily and as always was interesting listening to your explanations 👌
Nice one mate, you remind me of my old dad, also a Trowel man (Brickie) and other building tradesmen, often hearts of pure gold
Hi l have been doing some plastering and your help has been very helpful so brilliant 😊
Well done, it's people like you that the world need more of.
Love watching your vids mate...i learn so much from and its much appreciated thankyou
What a cracking bloke you are mate,God Bless.
Another classic video Kirk. As far as Surf Shark, I've had it for years & originally got the extra 6 months thrown in on top of the 24-month, absolutely brilliant piece of kit
Great work, good heart...👍.
New subscriber. What a lovely guy you are, brought tears to my eyes! Keep up the good work. It’s nice to see the good guys in the world, instead of hearing the loudmouths all the time!
Thanks linda
Good that is a very good tip to mark both the board and the set out marked area I never think of and always keep having to turn and twist the board along with reversing the board to try find the way I marked and cut the board
And after watching that and seeing what a good man you are kirk i decided to buy you a few beers. Enjoy 🍻
Thank you very much mate 🙏
Your an absolute top bloke 👏 thank you for what you do for others , your right to give a little something to others is a very kind gesture and very rewarding 👍
Bless ya bro. I'm starting a plastering course next month and i cant wait to be able to help friends and family out. 'Just pay for materials, and I'll sort it' hopefully be able get them feeling good about their homes.

Once again you good man doesn't it make you feel good when you give back a little well done my friend 👍🙏
Love this. Top man
I’m a retired lorry mechanic, not a builder or plasterer, but, I was told to use a wood trowel because it’s something to do with water retention or something, but I notice you are using a metal trowel. Not that I am ever going to use one, but the proper tools to use is good information for me.
Alright kirk your a top man ❤
Some quality work mate I would employ you in a heartbeat
Tip with the scrim great job
Good lad ❤ on top of that he's also showed a good number of people how to maybe have a go at tackling this sort of task on your own in a DIY capacity. Good fella 👍
I am so glad I checked my youtube today. I thought something was up that I hadnt had a notification for a minute. My bleeting lad deleted my subs! Great job, cheers for this.
