Thank you, this solved my problem. I sprayed the circuit patches on the print head and inside with "CRC QD Electronic cleaner" while the head was out, and it's working perfectly now.
I am getting the dreaded printer head error and had no problem getting the head out but couldn't get it back in . Thanks for the very useful and clear instructions in this video.
I have this printer and only my cyan will not print. Ive done multiple deep cleaning and nothing. Every other color prints fine. Will replacing the printer head like I'm this video fix my issue? Thanks
Thanks for the video…question…do all cartridges have to be in the printer for the machine to work…I don’t have a grey cartridge…brand new machine and it won’t get past the initial step saying to install the cartridges. Thanks
I spoke with a Cannon rep and he said this printer has been discontinued and there is no repair service for it and no parts. I'm on my 2nd Pixma MG7720, and I love the things. eBay has some being sold for parts, and maybe you can Google used parts for this model. Good luck.
Thank you for this tutorial. In shopping for a new printhead, I see there are many brands of QY6-0083 printheads available at very different price points. How do I know which one to buy? Do I need to pay the higher price for the Canon brand, or are the less expensive ones okay?
Most are going to be a genuine Canon printhead. These are very difficult to replicate. Be very careful., though, a lot of the printheads will be sold as "black only", which means that only the black color will print, other colors will not print.
I was hopeful this would solve my problem of the printer only printing brown instead of black when printing off the computer. Photocopies work and print black. Cleaned the print head with window cleaner and soft rag. Still brown! Dang. Will look for another video of how to clean more thoroughly before I give up.
Hey, do you know how to reset thr printer ? I just turned it on 1st use, and I follow the steps to remove all the orange caps and try to set up wifi, I got a error test something stuck. (Don't see anything) now that I try to turn off and on again , it saying to remove the orange thing on the right . Above the ink thing
I was having trouble with the colors on mine. I did some research and found that if removing the print head doesn't solve the problem it's cooked. Be sure to use an aerosol electronics cleaner on the circuits before replacing the head.

How do I know they are empty or not?
My printer died and I'm trying to prove the ink cartridges but I can't pull the carrier out....
