    I wasted entire days of my life troubleshooting my PIXMA and ALMOST gave up and bought a new printer (that I cannot afford), and then, like a freaking DIVINE LIGHT, I found THIS VIDEO! I cannot thank you enough! I have to deliver a ton of documents and I am saved!

    Thank you so much. I've been refilling cartridges for a few years now. I have both a TR something, it's the full package, and a TS700, whch I love because it's just th printer. But I'd refill a cartridge and then it would print out poorly, I'd install new ones, same issue. Well, using your method of manually cleaning the print heads, it's printing beautifully. I couldn't pop out the mechanism itself -- I'm 67, arthritic hands -- but I took a heavy duty blue shop towel and pressed it up againnst each one -- and decided to go for broke, filled each cartridge full -- gorgeous print the first time. I mae journals, and truthfully, if the printer broke today, it's more than paid for itself. But, thanks to your video, just like me, I think the old girl has some life in her yet. I subbed. Thanks again from Richmond, VA USA -- Patricia

    Amazing! My Canon printer had sat unused for almost 3 years because it wouldn't print right. I bought a new set of ink cartridges at the time but didn't install them because I figured I'd be throwing good money after bad.
    Some of the other videos I watched made me afraid to do this operation; one video said you must not get the electronic board on the printhead wet, and another video didn't even remove the printhead. But I forged on, following the instructions in this video.
    It took a looong time to rinse out all the ink; it's amazing how much ink was hiding in the fine slots on the back of the printhead (which one video also said to not get wet!), and when I finally deemed it clean, there were still a couple of colored spots that dribbled onto the paper towel I put it on.
    The worst part was not this operation but reconnecting my printer to my computer, which took all day and was maddeningly difficult, but, lo and behold, I got it working! THANK YOU!

    You're my savior! Of at least a 1,000 videos, you're the first one that broke down how to *reinstall* the freaking thing! Every other one says "just put it back in the way it came out", but you can't SEE that it came out almost almost completely horizontally because you're hand is in the way the way the whole time. The logical way is to feed it in horizontal, the feed vertically almost immediately, which you can do, but won't allow it to seat correctly. It just gets it close enough that you will try over and over again for a day and a half until you're ready to throw the freaking thing out the window! So, thank you. You saved my printer and my window.

    Man, you are genius. My MG6320 was not used for colour printing for maybe 2-3 years and when I fired it again, there was almost nothing on the paper. Checked few videos, each involved buying some equipment, and then came across yours. After first attempt, it started printing b/w, so I took it apart again and just kept under hot water until last trace of blue ink was no more visible in the white sink. Used paper towel and hair dryer to remove all drops of water, installed in the printer and VOILA! It came back to life with the same vivid colours when I printed my photos few years back. So I am joining the chorus of other happy viewers and saying big Thank You for your time and posting this video. Oh, did I mention that in the meantime I bought another cheap colour printer... :-(

    THIS FIXED MY ISSUES! Bruh, thx for not talking for 10 minutes prior to actually doing anything!! Easy to follow and implement. Wish I could give more than 1 thumbs up.. Wait, I have another account. I'll give that one too! **One suggestion. I couldn't get the head release tray to pull when the printer was plugged in because it caught on the bottom left on the housing lip. May want to add a superimposed message telling peeps to open and center cartridge tray then unplug to maneuver. But seriously though it was a small thing. GREAT VID.

      What error message did you get? U052 wrong printer head type?

  • @mdf8884
    @mdf8884 3 ปีที่แล้ว +25

    Once again the simplest answer is usually the best. Thank you so much for saving me at least $100 or more .
    I have a Pixma 920 series. I had a b200 error and everybody else said it was dead and I would have to replace the printhead or the printer. A lot of people blame the cheap Chinese ink which I have been using for years. It's possible that it just built up . Anyway this solution with hot water is 100% effective and does work believe it or not . Everyone else said to use swabs and alcohol and or a certain type of tool or cleaning solution. All I did was run hot water over the printhead literally everywhere over it and made sure it went through the mesh areas and I noticed a lot of ink coming out the other side. I simply rinsed until no more ink came out. I didn't use distilled water and I used a paper towel to gently dry it off and I shook it out and waited a few minutes. I shook it again, dried it again, installed it and the printer works perfectly. It's printing better than it has in years. The only thing is that when I was drying off the bottom portion with the thin strips where the ink comes out I made sure I was gently wiping and not scrubbing.
    The only other thing I would add is that when you're removing the printhead and you first need to pull that lever with the colored bars towards you, to make sure that the bar clears either side otherwise you won't be able to pull it . You'll see what I'm talking about if you're able to pull one side toward you but the other side doesn't because it catches on a part of the printer. There's only a small margin of the opening where you can align the ink cartridge carrier to be able to pull that lever towards you
    Last thought. Do not unscrew the two little screws on the underside thinking you'll clean more. Leave them alone

    • @4144758
      @4144758 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Haha I was tempted to removed the screws but didn't. I wonder why the water doesn't come straight through the print head like on HP printers

    Was getting error 5100 on my TS9020. Hubs took the air compressor and sprayed it out, which got the error to stop, so he must have got rid of some particle. Then, printer only printed blank pages. Saw this video, took about 10 minutes of hot water rinsing, then dried with paper towels and hair dryer (on cold). And...I have a working printer again!!!! Color is not great, maybe I need to clean more, but it works and that is HUGE!!!! Thank you!

    There's a caveat to this method that I didn't notice mentioned. If you have hard water or are on well water, this may not be the best option unless you rinse afterward with distilled water to get rid of any trace mineral deposits. If you have a water softener, you should be good to go.

    thanks a lot but does it works with the pixma MG5100
    A long time ago a friend who sadly passed away told me "you remove the print head" and you soak it in methylated spirits. But if the water works it's better

    Hmmm. I tried this and now my colour cartridges do not work. The printer is not identifying that there are full cartridges in place. It thinks they're empty. Any suggestions? Thanks.

    my pixma ip8750 has ink cartidges in with plenty ink and the printer prints blank pages. very annoying. ive soaked the head overnight once and this uncloged it, but i will give it a good blast now and see what happens. the ink heads are around 36-80 quid online. mostly from china. should it get wrecked. i could do with a straw to blow and blast anytihg stubborn out

    I did what you did and now my black ink isn't coming through. What could be the problem? I let it dry overnight.
