Excellent video, thank you for taking the time to record the various clips etc and to edit and upload it. I've got a insignia diesel which is losing a little coolant so I'll observe the header tank more closely and see how I get on. Thanks again

Maybe, but these also have a nasty habbit of leaking from the gasket at the inlet manifold...and its a big job, not hard, just a lot of parts to move to get to the manfold and remove it.

Hello, for my car Opel Meriva B 1.4 Turbo petrol 2016 model done 85500 kms, in which coolant was leaking. My mechanic replaced the water pump and coolant expansion lid. After that it’s getting over heated due to the thermostat which is not opening at 103c. I have replaced the thermostat but in vain. Meanwhile, I got yellow engine alert and for that I have replaced the lambda sensor, and the alert disappeared. But after two days it appeared again and disappears after two days. Could you please help me, what to do?

My dealer says to me you Have a slight leak from the radiator. Will got 760 all in to replace.
Can I use a chemical to seal it?

It would never cost that much to replace a radiator, should be under £200. Yes try "K-seal" first.

Right now I’m experiencing some issues with coolant disappearing in to who know where.
There aren’t any leaks anywhere nor is coolant mixing in with oil.

Check around the core plug area which is located under/ behind the oil filter housing as it could be leaking from there, check your header tank cap, could have steam coming out of it, if not that could be your head gasket, have it checked out. If your header tank looks old put in a new one in and change the cap at the same time.

All Vauxhall have water level issues ... those expansion tanks either split or the sender unit fails.
Another problem is the thermostat housing is plastic and they fail every 5 years or so.
I've had TWO expansion tanks and TWO thermostat housings on my Astra in 8 years.

    This is a nice video.
Please i have an Opel Insignia Petrol car that has Coolant leakage problem. It leaks so bad that you cant drive it for more than 10km without the tank being empty. I have checked the coolant tank and the surrounding connectors and the leak is not from there. What are the various ways or outlets you think it could be leaking from.
I will appreciate your urgent response.
    Thanks

Did you ever sort it? That sounds like your pump went.

Look pal, it looks like there was some mayo in that coolant tank which suggests the head gasket is mixing oil with coolant. You should check if there is any coolant in the engine oil or the engine is burning it and ejecting it through the exhaust. A faulty cork (which regulates pressure) and head gasket will likely cause such kind of damage to the tank which overpressurise or just a rise coolant level (by mixing with oil) so the expansion tank looses it's capacity to balance the pressure even with functional cork. What I want to point out is that damaged coolant tank is a sympthome for a bigger issue, and very very rarely the only cause of the problem.

My coolant tank is draining quickly and a massive waterfall underneath the car. What could it be?

Hi, the customer brought his car back a week ago for M.O.T and went straight through, at the same time I checked his water level and it was perfect and he's not needed to top any up since.

@@scotlandg8130 You're welcome. Your overheating problem could be down to another issue, make sure your radiator fan works, keep an eye on your Temperature gauge and check your water level regularly, if it's ok then it should all be fine.
