You have got to be the best Google phone teacher in TH-cam ever! Thank you so very much for this fantastic little (but precious) video. Greetings from Portugal.
Unfortunately, I followed the instructions of the battery manufacturer and didn't see your video prior to doing my battery installation. I somehow managed to break the fingerprint cable but I can't say that I care because I never use it. I was so frustrated with the poor directions that the battery manufacturer provided that I forgot to put the second 8 or 9 screws in before I put the screen back on And now I can't get just the screen off 😑 Oh well! I wish I'd seen your video prior to getting started. Another instructional video was playing on TH-cam and it made about as much sense as the instructions that came with the battery. THEN yours came on, which is what prompted me to remember that I didn't put the last set of screws in. 😑 The phone works well in spite of it. When I go to sell it may be something of an issue. The phone looks perfect so nobody except somebody taking it apart would ever know the difference OR if maybe they drop it! Oh... forgot... the battery manufacturers directions were so poorly written that the SIM card slot got mangled in pulling the phone apart because they forgot to highlight a screw. I seriously doubt that Google accidentally put an extra screw into my phone and only my phone. 😆 I have changed a lot of phone batteries in my day and the two most egregious ones have been this 4a 5g and the original Google, the Motorola Nexus 6, Shamu. I think the 4a 5g is much worse than Shamu was. It's just unnecessary, the layers that one must go through to change the 4a 5g battery. I wonder why Google does that??? 🤔 I can't remember any of my other Pixels or Motorolas being so peculiar in changing out a battery. It normally takes me about 5 to 6 minutes, tops.
Just finished this repair. It took about 4 hours. You made it look easy. I didn't have the correct equipment though, I stripped out one screw by accident, whoops. My dad bought me some screwdrivers so I could finish the replacement. Thanks for making the video! I'm curious though which adhesive you used. The adhesive I'm using doesn't stick to the screen.
My screen just broke because I did not tighten one of the bottom front facing screws well enough... It chipped the screen and now displays nothing but a blob of green.
Beautiful! My 4a 5g suddenly quit. it was at 98% charge one minute and completely dead another. Shop said either the battery or the motherboard. $108 to change the battery, but it didn't feel swollen, so they suspected the motherboard. I have a new phone coming, but since I have a proffessional tool kit from Amazon, I may open it and see.
Anyone have ideas why 4a won't fast charge or charge at all using their fast charger but charger normally with slower USB-C? This is my problem with a dud battery. Probably not worth trying to fix it.

I broke the volume up button somehow. No clue how. But it isn't responsive anymore. Only the volume down button.

You have said you will give the battery purchase link in the description. But you have not given the link. Can you please share the link
looking for the links too.
1:30 this is Important! I unfortunately snapped some cables doing this! I was following another video.
Don't try to remember screw positions, place them out in their relevant positions, a magnetic tray also helps.

Where do you buy your parts for reperation? Love your content keep up the great work
It is a pity nobody created a replacement case, one where you can replace the battery easily.
@8:54 Does that metal plate awkwardly cover a part of the ribbon cable?
i love your videos, and your voice 😅
great instruction.
Where is the list and the shop to find the tools?
Wow
Excellent
Glue remover link or name
why would you say that you would put the link below , and then NOT do it?
Not worth fixing now unless you do it yourself.
Most shops don't get it right anyway.
